#musicalinstruments #DIY #baglama
Thank you for showing us your work of art. I became interested in DIY musical instruments a few years ago due to a personal tragedy. I'd been hit by a car. After the hospital, I was sent to a nursing home. It took me a year and a half to fight my way home to my house. I had no musical instrument when I was in the nursing home. I was very lonely and bored. I decided to take advantage of my current freedom to learn to make musical instruments from whatever is available, so that i can make something to play even in a nursing home. I've made a tiny ukelele, but it is difficult to play. I should have made it full-sized. Anyway, you are a kindred spirit. Thank you for keeping traditional skills alive.
Nice to hear that. Thank you very much
My favourite kind of videos from you - when you make DIY music instruments!
Thank you
Yes! I absolutely agree! I just love seeing all those instruments being made.
Me too. I build weird instruments in my garage so these videos give me many ideas. Simon the magpie is also great.
Hands down the most beautiful can instrument I’ve seen
Thank you

how's that even a thing
You're a master and I salute you. Love to Greece ❤
Wow. Superb job. Back in the mid 80's I lived in London. Some weekends we would go to a Greek restaurant and the owner and his friends would play bouzoukis. Thank you
Awesome! Thank you
And remember there's the Irish bouzouki too. I know it sounds like the start of a joke but there really is. The Irish bouzouki has a flat back and usually has four courses. It was popularised by bands like Planxty and The Bothy Band in the 70s.
Love it, no "music", no talk, just do!
I feel like someone is paddling in a canoe down a river in Georgia and they hear Banjo music!
Cool build. Never heard of this but it seems like something from the folksy folks in the Appalachian Mountains! I want one!
Lovely build, Dimitris...and a beautiful way to honor your Greek heritage. Your craftsmanship in both the build and the video are excellent. Well done!
Thank you
Didnt expect it sound so good! I want one!
I could listen to that little thing for hours. Beautifully done
I don't know what to say against that craftsmanship. Just brilliant. Amazing. Youre a living legend. Thanks a lot
It's beautiful! Thanks for playing it at the end
Thank you for watching and commenting
As always, your videos are fantastic. an inspiration to us all. Thank you
Thank you
This is rad. Gonna try this when I get some real free time. Thanks! 🙌🏻
Nice build, brother. I dig canjos and cigar box guitars. I made a canjo bass with one of those holiday popcorn tins and a piezo pickup.
Has a very unique and distinctive sound. Very nice.
Another fantastic build Dimitris, thank you for all your attention to detail and showing us so carefully. So many little bits of education in here, I always learn something new from your vids. Today, the home-made nut and saddle vice - that's something I need to make.
And thanks for the music!
Thank you Mark. Your comments are always so motivating for me to keep going. :)
@@ScrapwoodCity You're welcome mate. We should all support each other.
Brilliant 😊 I love everything about it. I've been making canjo's for a while and I like this orientation and set up for the tin. I will definitely try it 😊 ॐ
Awesome. Thank you
Peace, love and music. ✌❤🎵
:)

Yes it does indeed. One step above nails on a chalkboard.
Amazing job👍, thank you!
Beautiful job. Nice tune at the end as well.
Outstanding brother 👏. Thanx for sharing.
Amazing! I wouldn't sand the can though. It would be a nice twist to leave the can painted...
Thank you. I guess you could but I think it looks nicer sanded.
Really nice job on the neck. A can't wait to hear how it sounds
Great craftsmanship
Love the sound.
Awesome craftsmanship.
Thank you
An incredibly skilled artisan. Salud
Just came across this by chance. Watched it all the way through fascinated. Makes me want to go out to the shed and make one. Beautiful sound. Then I'll have to learn how to play it. Thanks for sharing, best wishes.
Thank you. Give it a try
sounds unique !! would love to have this sound for recording music
That was very satisfying! I'm going to try this using an oval sardine can :)
This looks so fun to be able to make. ❤️👍
Over the top 👌👍👌👍👌👍
Incroyable, quel magnifique savoir-faire ! 😳😲🤩😍
Great work there, and a great tribute too.

Realmente uma arte!!
Great work. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you
I'm glad that I found this your YT Channel.
Great ideas and good craftsmanship, really inspiring...
Only, if I may say, please extreme safety when using sawing machines, keeping your fingers off and protected...
Thanks for sharing
Thank you
Lots of work, and detail, well done!
Thank you
This one founds better than your other instruments I've heard.
A lot of effort and skill. I can't wait to see your guitar or mandolin.
Çok güzel olmuş tebrik ederim :)
Thank you very much
Tried this with a Nescafé frappe can for more bass. Turned out ok, thanks this was really helpful.
Thank you. Glad I helped
Excellent skills and a great collection of tools well done
Thank you
Que gran trabajo eres profesional lindo instrumento
Cool sound!
Thank you
This was awesome. I strongly dislike some of the other channels on here (unrelated to instruments) where the guy working is making some abomination in their garage.
Outstanding work, my friend 💙
thank you very much
Lmao I thought I was gonna learn how to make a simple instrument you can throw together and suddenly I’m back to just learning how to make a guitar, minus the body. Awesome work.
Thank you
Very creative & well done as usual SWC! OOMPAH!! Be well & stay safe...... 👍👍😉😉😷😷
Thank you my friend, you too
Awesome job, I make cigar box guitars, I like the sound of this.
Thank you. Nice to hear that
Beautiful tiny music instrument ! The pitch is so high.
Thank you
Very nice! I actually made a similar instrument a few years ago, but with 3 strings, and I play it with a bow.
Awesome, thanks
Like a kemençe?
@@gnomepilled103 I actually bought a kamence a couple years later and yes, similar idea. Mine used a tin can for both the body and resonating surface (instead of skin) with a neck that pokes through so the strings are attached to the other end. It looks most similar to a Kazakh style with the cylinder type body. My Persian kamence body is walnut turned to the shape of a gourd.
Great work.
You do work with left Hand and play the Baglama to right.
Cooool …
Amazing job. Very interesting video. Thanks.
Thank you
neat sounding lil guy
I think it would be beautiful with the graphics on the tin can. Like the cigar box guitars.
hopa! sounds better than a baglamadaki!!!
Very nice! (and watch out for your fingers on that table saw my dude, we don't want to see you hurt)
Stuffed vine leaves-yummy! Nice job once again.
Thank you
Impressive, and a very skilled craftsman. Will have to say though, there were a few times I was worried I wouldn't be able to see you play it after you cut off your fingers on that table saw.
great video like always been watching you for a long time and have even built some instruments with your videos as a guide i would love to see if you would ever consider making a bagpipe type thing or a flute cant wait to see what you do next
Thank you. I can’t really play wind instruments but I have a couple of projects in mind
Beautiful!!!
Thank you

Really cool 😊
Thank you
I've never watched this channel before, so forgive the ignorance in me thinking and assuming this would be a quick and easy build but the guy puts most major guitar brands today to shame with the level of detail and quality involved in making this instrument. Mind. Blown.
I wish I was talented enough to play this and appreciate the true craftsmanship and effort involved in making it. So good though.
Liked and subscribed ❤️🤘🏻
Thank you very much for the nice words my friend
WOW.. you did it Super ... very very nice ..
thank you
It sounds like the Turkish instrument cura. but cura 3 wires. This instrument is a bit like an Italian mandolin. But in the end, the effort was made. good luck.
nice work, well done,
Thank you
Eres un genio😮
Great job man, I want to build one of these
Thank you. You should try it
Someone have to play Thin Can Alley on that thing !😂
Lol

A wonderful instrument, health to your hand. I noticed your shirt. What does it say?
Muito bom 😃🇧🇷👏👏
Maravilloso !!!!!!!!
awesome, what would one of these cost
I like that sound
Thank you
The video was just okay. It would be nice if you explained the types of wood you used. Had closed caption or verbally explained what and how you are doing.
Is it still "diy" instruments though ? I don't know, that guy seems to be very well equipped and knowledgable regarding wood working.
Thank you
Perfect 🇪🇬
