The best video on these topics in the entire yt. Thank you Afzal.

Great video..Straight to the point
My bro really grinding mashallah
I am glad I ran into this, looks like the CZcams algorithms worked well for me this time. You gave a clear insight between IB and PE, I was planning on which course to take and your video is really helpful for me on which path I should take. You just earned a sub and a like. Keep it up my friend.
Thanks and good luck!
Quality content mate. Keep it going đđ»

After seeing this video it feels like you made it to answer a question I made under one video.
Thanks a lot đ€Receiving this Insights form an ex-IB it encourages me to follow my path. Even if it's difficult I want to break in PE...
Maybe after seeing PE vs PB or PE vs AM you can change itđ I value your insights very high đđđ
Thanks a lot for this video man, very informational! Can you make a video about breaking into PE from strategy consulting please?
MashaaAllah you are fantastic. Great personality with great body language beside a significant knowledge about the topic. So proud of you brother Afzal
Thanks! You're too kind!
Enjoyed the video
Hoping u could go into a deeper dive of PE total compensation
And next video to be detailed insight to hedge funds ; work life balance , compensation, breaking into it, what the work entails and the hierarchy
Hey Afzal, thanks for your work!
What about a video about Asset Management VS Wealth Management (Private Banking) ?
Awesome video
Love this vid, would you be able to do a video on your share portfolio (if you have one (i presume you do))
Hello! Watching from America! Could you a litt bit in depth into British banks? I know you worked at Goldman, but I would be very interested in learning more about the likes of Barclays, HSBC, Lloydâs, etc..
Can you do a video on the best skills to do in preparation for the different roles in finance? Would be so helpful.
Looking forward to this one Afzal! Currently in PE and have spent the last 4 years in it, both in U.K. and US, and prior to that, 5 years in M&A.
Great content and channel. Glad I found you!
Thanks! Cheers for subbing đđœđȘđœ
Thoroughly deserved. Super relatable and great content. Keep it up and stay out of the bullpit!
Loved the video Afzal! First time viewer, definitely subscribing after this one. Question for you (and Alex M would love for you to chime in if possible). I'm 2.5 years into corporate banking at a global bank and my long-term goal is getting into PE. I know that may sound like a drastic jump but I'm determined. I'm thinking that trying to get into IB first would give me a better chance. What are your thoughts? How should I go about it? Am I out of my mind? Lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
@@fmooosa my personal opinion is that making the move into IBD is pretty key to making the step. Getting some experience and deals under your belt will give you the skillset needed to make the move into PE.
Also I think important to think what type of fund you want to join - MF, UMM, LMM, sector focus, geographical etc.
In Europe languages are also a consideration that you donât have so much in the US.
All that being said, totally realistic ambition, I work with guys at my fund now who started in audit and then got big 4 corporate finance experience. Hard work and you can achieve it
@@alexm8954 Thank you so much for responding! That's great advice. I actually work in the Canadian office of a European bank and have considered transitioning to one of our offices in Europe where we have more deal flow. BTW would you say CFA is a must? I just started studying for level 1.
Great video, more videos on private equity?
Thank you â€
Please make the series!
Great video đđ»are you going to react to the rest of industry
Beautiful!!
Thanks!
Brother, please make a vedio on private wealth management or Islamic focused investment classes.
Please do private equity vs asset management!
Hi, Afzal! Thanks for yet again am informative video. How did you learn all this about different positions in finance?
Hey Afzal, it could be great a video talking about bond rating companies like standard and poors and moodys.
Cheers.
I am currently a trainee at a City law firm, and will qualify into the M&A/corporate/private equity team. I like my job but I've realised I'm more interested in the "business" side of the deals themselves than providing legal advice on them. My plan is to get as much deal making experience as possible and then work my way over to the business side - whether through switching to the M&A department of an investment bank, and then going into PE, or going straight into PE.
It would be good to know what you think firms like Goldman would think of an experienced lawyer switching into IB. I am considering doing the CFA in my spare time, which although it is not really tailored to M&A, I think would help to show I'm serious about finance, and also be good for general knowledge of the financial markets. Maybe you could do a vid for people like me who have started other (related) careers but are thinking of switching. Really great vids btw - keep it up!
Chief of Chiefs! Excellent content.
Hi Afzal,i love your videos they are so informative and well produced.I wanted to ask you a question, what makes an applicant stand out when applying to a PE firm like Blackstone for a graduate role? What skills and perhaps accolades/achievements would increase the chance of being hired straight from uni?
Love the channel man! Need some advice, Iâm a 3rd year science major in Canada and have recently decided I want to pursue investment banking. I go to a semi-target school, and since I have just decided I really want to go in IB I have no internships for this summer. What do you recommend as my best chance to break into IB one day? I know it may be a slim chance.
YES TO THE PE VS VS AND AM VS PB VIDEOS
Been watching this brother from the start and may Allah bless him more
PE vs VC would be amazing
PLEASE can you do a video comparing pay in investment banking to pay in asset management. You can very easily find pay for M&A but I just can't seem to find how much you'd be paid in asset management as a first year analyst at say Goldman, JP etc
Love your channel, Afzal! I'm currently pursuing a second undergrad degree in economics. Previously, I had 2 other degrees (a BFA in visual arts and a MA in international affairs). I've also been working at a nonprofit for the past 3 years (doing school part-time). The reason I went back to school is to change my career trajectory (getting into investment banking). Iâm wondering if you have any advice/thoughts/or suggestions regarding my circumstance. Do you suggest exploring the summer analyst route or applying to early-career jobs directly?
almost impossible
can you talk more about breaking into the industry from others? transferring from marketing? is a CFA level I a good idea to show im committed?
Any advice for people attending non-targeted school's trying to break into IB in the UK?
Can you make a video of what several full career paths may look like in IB vs PE, internship to retirement? From undergraduate to being done with work? Hear much about how to get started, but what about how people will finish their careers? I think it would be very interesting to see.
What about Warwick, Durham or Bath w a business/econ degree for breaking into investment banking?
What about Quant stuff (Trading/Research) at HFs?
How different will it be for someone jumping from consulting to private equity?
Bro u think I csn enter consulting/IB & PE from city of ldn economics because its a mid tier or will it be maaaad hard akh
Hey man is the simpley app out for Android yet?
IB vs AM; PE vs AM
How do you see such industry in 10 years given increasing regulation and dependence of PE on debt tax benefit?
would you consider Warwick Politics Department a "top uni" and A*AA top A Level grades?
Did we finish the first session of industry already? :)
Investment banking is easy to get into. Do not have to go to top houses. Can go to lower ranked none BB. However, getting into a top PE firm is far harder. Much easier to go to Goldmans and Harvard than land a top PE job. From Goldmans they only take say top 10% of staff
Is this 14 days trial applicable with the free month trial?
Venture capital, hedge funds and search funds too?
You didnât mention the consulting route into PE. Lots of opportunities on the operations side and no IB experience needed.
IB Vs Hedge fund?? please
i know it is not common, but is it possible to break into i banking after consulting?
Hey Afzal, really like your content, super helpful and enjoyable.
Just had a quick question:
I'm trying to work towards getting an insight week in a decent firm (2022), and I want to learn some basics by completing a Financial Edge training course, maybe the 'Modeler' course.
My question is 3 part:
1. Could you put the Financial Edge training course on your CV/Application, seeing as they supposedly train bulge bracket analysts?
2. Would that benefit your application or just look out of place?
3. Finally, what course from Financial Edge would you recommend?
Thanks Afzal!
Hey, thanks.
1. You can indeed, and most definitely should, include any FE certificates that you do in your CV/application. It'll help you stand out and shows initiative.
2. It wouldn't look out of place. It'll stand out in a positive way.
3. It really depends on what area of an investment bank you're interested in working in. For example, for front office areas such as trading, asset management and investment banking, Financial Edge have a trading course, an asset management course and investment banking courses (modeller and a valuation course).
If you do decide to purchase an FE course be sure to use the code AFZAL25 at checkout for 25% off the normal price.

Can you do a IB vs Hedge funds
what happened to the industry videos?
I have been thinking of starting a P.E firm.
everyone these days are
I am currently studying Business management specializing in Finance and insurance, but I failed some classes in my first year. Is it still possible to land an IB job or should I look at different options?
if you got connections its fine
i am from Bangladesh.
Tell us about the role of trusts.
Venture Capital would be a nice comparison
What would be your thoughts on a degree apprenticeship at Jp Morgan for 2022, (Iâm 17).
Would you feel that the apprenticeship is worth not going to uni to break into IB. Iâm concerned about the exit opportunities for the Apprenticeship.
Thanks
There's one thing that i desegree. I don't know in USA, but here in Brazil, these banks does not care about your university. You'll just need to have their culture and stuff; you don't need to be graduated in a Top 10 university (like University of SĂŁo Paulo). In J.P Morgan Chase of SĂŁo Paulo, you fund a lot of differents universities, Top 10 or not
Hi Afzal, could you explain why exactly you left Goldman in the end?

Thank for the video sir
Can you please spare some time on my query too ? I am a biology graduate student, completed PGDBF and currently working in Public sector bank in India. How can I proceed to get into investment bank?
Your words will highly be appreciated sir.
Thanks
what would you say are the top tier universities in the UK that make it easier to get into the top firms?
The ones he mentioned that are in the uk.
Russel group - Oxbridge, LSE, Imperial, York, Durham, Warwick..any will do with good degree in mathematics, engineering, economics etc
Would you do one on Consulting?
In the pipeline đđœ
@@AfzalHussein I can't wait! :)
Gang
Venture capital would be great
And search funds
Could I get a job as an investment banking analyst at the age of 14? I really have a high passion of one day working and I can't wait. I do not care if I will be stressed out but what I care is to achieve my dreams. I even predicted the crash of Bitcoin when it was at $59,000 I really wanted to short it but my dad didn't allow. So I lost a large opportunity lol đč
