Mary, here's a tip you might like to make you windows look even a little larger. Instead just attach each of the last clips on either side of your curtain panels to be attached 'past beyond' the brackets. It will hide the bracket and make the window look larger because the curtain will then extend further out beyond the window frame. I hope this makes sense.
This also keeps them neat since the panel canât drift in towards the center of the window. It stabilizes them.
I came here to say the same thing!
I was going to mention the same thing. Itâs easier when you close them too. â€ïž
Love the new look. â€ïžâ€ïž
I just made the same comment before reading yours...great minds!!đšđŠ
Mary I have watched you for at least 6-7 years and you never stop amazing me with your ideas, ideals, your home, and your sweet sweet soul!! I just love and adore everything you do đ„°
I only live 30 minutes from Mary . Hubby and I hope to stay in one of her cottages. We have been married 51. Years!!
What length is the drop clothes?
Absolutely love the curtains. I've never seen anybody do a little pinch pleat at the top. What a great idea. And honestly I love the fact that the walls and the curtains are close in color. I think it looks very classy. I wouldn't paint until you get new furniture and see how everything looks. Great job.
I agree, good idea.
Agreed! The color looks great against the wall with white furniture! When you flipped that frame, I laughed "Of course, she has a two-sided seasonal wall hanging! Brilliant.
I agree too, it makes for a classy look and it is soft on the eyes.
I love the new look the curtains are really beautiful. You always do a great job. God Bless your beautiful family.
Agree. That's what I do.
The curtains are perfect! You did a wonderful job in hanging the drop cloths. Good for John for installing the rods. Fabulous!
Your space is very serene. The Christmas tree was beautiful
YEP! They do look GREAT and what I like most, is that it shows everyone that you don't have to have a lot of money to decorate your home. Fifty years ago when I first married, we had $5.00 YEP. I had to be creative I have always loved lace. I came across four square pieces of a lacey material, pinched the top with clamping curtain rod rings. This made beautiful cheap kitchen curtain. Can't wait to see more.
Good tips from everyone about hanging with at least 1 curtain ring outside of the brackets. I have 4 since I extended the rods about 8 inches. I also put rings on the panels before hanging them so I don't have to work with my arms raised for so long and risk unbalancing. I measure everything before fastening rings to be sure they are perfectly spaced (because of OCD tendencies đ).
The curtains look so pretty â€
Really liked the look of the new window drapes! Thatâs a great tip for spacing the bracket drill holes.đ
Absolutely love the new curtains. You have such a good eye. The contrast between the type of fabric and the elegant way you hung them with the pinched pleats, the casual rings and the formal length, they are exquisite and so very beautiful! â€
Love what you did with the curtains, your room looks beautiful đ
The curtains are lovely. I think they would look nice ironed and folded over on the â right â side for a more traditional or eclectic style home. Terrific hack!
đ
Harbor Freight also has inexpensive drop cloths. Your new curtains are lovely!
When I checked Harbor Freight drop cloth, the fabric had raw edges.
What a difference. The new curtains really elevate the look of your room. I had to laugh when you talked about painting the room, white! Of course! Really appreciate the time you take in explaining all the steps and not taking any shortcuts to get the perfect look. Your Etsy shop items are perfect for Valentines Day đ
As usual, beautiful! I agree with earthy artist...when I did this I spread the panels on the floor, folded & attached rings. Then just slipped the rings on the rods. The key rings are so sweet đđ HAPPY VALENTINE MARY đžđžđž
Those curtains are beautiful, it just goes to show how a small change can make such a difference! I do have a suggestion....move the last clip on each end to the outside of the brackets. This will balance the look of the rods and prevent the curtains from sliding. Great tutorial on your pinching method! đđšđŠ
Love how the curtains look!
Beautiful!!! Love dropcloth curtains, I have them too!!â€â€â€
What a great idea! I'm so glad you raised your curtain rod! I just did this for the first time and I love it! You are so talented, Mary! God Bless you from Missouri!!
Die VorhĂ€nge gefallen mir ausgesprochen gut. Die Fenster wirken sehr hochwertig und wirken sehr viel gröĂer und edler...Sehr schön sind Deine Produkteđđ·

You've created a peaceful home. I love it!
What a difference they make in the room. Softens and cozies.
Like the curtains very much. I think I will do this
Love the fold over and pleats they really do enhance your beautiful living room! Thank you for another how to video đ
Greetings from North Carolina, I love how they all turned out. I have the same set up in my home. The entire house was smelling of bleach but the end result of my project was worth it. YOU CONTINUE TO INSPIRE ME, LOVE AND REGARDS TO ALL THOSE ALSO READING THIS POSTâ€đ
I walk on my furniture to hang things and clean. It's much easier than moving the furniture and getting a ladder out lol. Curtains turned out gorgeous!!!
Your new drapes look terrific. Drapes are SO expensive... so I've had drop cloth curtains/drapes for probably 5 years now, and I love them.
In the winter, I fold them in half (instead of a little valence) for extra insulation for our old windows. Yes, they become "curtains" instead of "drapes". Makes a difference in the temperature of the room. Also keeps the light out more.
I know that walking over the furniture isnât ideal but I loved seeing you do it. Itâs nice to see that Iâm not the only one who occasionally does these sort of things.
I had to laugh, I have the same 30 year old Rainbow Vacuum with the latches unlatchable now but still the best vacuum ever.
It looks beautiful! I actually like the monotone look now.
Love, Love, Love the curtains!!! They compliment the room so nicely. Have you ever thought of perhaps hanging a thick jute tassel from the pole in the middle the double window? It will actually hide that metal apparatus between the two sets of curtains.
Love the new drapes! They really change the look of the room.
Something about the natural fabric just adds such a calming effect to the room. Great job!
Very very pretty!
They look beautiful. I thought about doing the same, but ended up buying white velvet curtains instead.
So beautiful
Great explanation, Mary! I DID notice that the most re-watched section is where your hubby gets the curtain fixture up. He has quite a fan club it seems.
Oh , Mary! Your curtains turned out just beautiful đ Made me want to make a Walmart run and do my living room and bedroom. Thank you so đ very much for ALWAYS giving us such great inspiration! Godspeed!!!
I love the wall color. Good job with curtains pleats. You are very creative and always in motion.
Brilliant! God bless you big!
Nice Mary. God Bless
That was a very good idee, Mary... it looks very pretty nowâ„ïžâ„ïžâ„ïž
Love the way you pinched where you hooked it up, looks neater when it hangs without looking too formal
Your curtains are gorgeous. I love the way they hang. Thank you for your explanation.
The drop cloth curtains look stunning. I was going to make some prior to seeing this video but now I'm going to go for the no sew style. Well done đx

Really,really pretty. â„ïž
Great tips. Love how you pinched them. It makes them look cleaner. Tyfs
Mary those curtains are beautiful. Iâm gonna buy some drop cloths and do that. â€ïž
Beautiful. Love the valentines items.
An idea I seen on Pinterest I think was having one curtain hook on the outside of the curtain rod holder so curtains can go to the edge. But yours looks great too.
Beautiful house! I love the curtains.
Love the curtains, the pinched pleats look great. I like the curtains being a similar colour to the walls. It makes the space cohesive I think.
I am a local and have been in that Millersburg. Wal Mart. Awesome how they have all the parking for the Amish Buggies.
Looks good love srop cloth curtains in my bedroom just love them
They look great Renee! đđ»â„ïžđâŁïžđ„ł
I want to do the same with curtains in my bedroom! Thanks for sharing!
Mary, it looks very nice, you are so talented â€
Such a difference! Yes Maryđ€ Thanks for an encouraging video. I can do that! Very serene.
Love it! I have drop cloth on all of my windows downstairs and also on my long narrow windows on either side of my front door. Love them! Easy to wash and warm in the winter time.
The curtains look amazing! đ€© It really has changed the whole look of your living room. My guess is, now with the new curtains, the rest of the living room will get updated quickly! đâșïžđ
I loved the curtains yo to do a lot better the were more spring and summery. Light and airey.
So Beautiful!
What a difference!!! The room looks massive now. Mary, no matter what you do it always looks beautiful, and that's because you are beautiful inside and outâ€ïž
That idea was genius!!! I love your styke!!
They. Look beautiful
LOve the curtains!! May have to try these in my home! Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Mary, they look great!
Looks great!! Iâm just not a fan of puddled curtains at the bottom.
I like the look, but it makes it harder to clean because you have to clean the curtain bottoms as they collect dust. As tidy as Mary is, I doubt dust would dare show its face! But I saw puddled curtains In someoneâs house and they were not tidy, 11:44 so I decided they were not for me!
Wow!!â€
huge improvement
It looks like your children have their parent's talents and creativity! Pam
Just great!
Gorgeous!!!
Wow! They look beautiful
Love them!
They look beautiful and have changed the room. You saved so much money Those curtains would cost hundreds. Thanks for showing us curtains we can make at a budget. So much better than those CZcamss that show us how to hang thousand dollar curtains we could never afford.
The curtains are really pretty. I am interested because I need to put curtains up.
Love these ! â€
Absolutely stunning.
Love them. Looks beautiful!
I love your choice.
Mary I love how the curtains look. I think that when they are higher it does make the room even fill bigger. Your home is always so beautiful I love everything. Oh and I walk on my furniture to hang my curtains it's just easier for me. It's not like my socks are dirty.
