So, apparently there's like FIVE different versions of "Why Did I Say Okie Doki?" and naturally I chose the LEAST FUNNY one for A COMEDY MUSICIAN to react to. Whoops.
So...which version SHOULD I have done? I'll likely tack it onto whatever I react to next.

As someone else in Stupendium's comments pointed out, there might be more than hundred puns. "Soul, sir" is seltzer, "headed the kettle" is heated the kettle, etc. Either stupendium wanted to keep it a nice round hundred, or he did them subconsciously.
It literally says “there’s *over* 100 beverage puns hidden in this song”.
I counted the answers.. it might be something like 114. But I lost count SO MANY TIMES that I’m just not gonna count them again.

From what I can understand, I think "Fair Trade" is a company/cause/thing that tries to get things produced by farmers to consumers with as few middle men as possible so the producers are given their right dues (hence "fair trade"). And I think that they are most known for their involvement with coffee. But then again, I'm dumb.
UK gal here. And yup, you're absolutely correct. Fair Trade is a company that claims that all the farmers who work with them will be given a fair wage, i.e. paid what they are due rather than being forced to labour for a pittance because they don't have any other options. Not really sure how well it works in reality, there's a few people who claim they're not all they claim to be.
If I recall correctly, they made their debut with the pickers of coffee beans first, and then moved onto other farmed ingredients as well. I don't know if I'd call it a drink per se though, I think that one's a bit of a stretch honestly as it's the ingredients within things rather than a drink itself.

Its whatever player makes the name to be. You could also change up the file names to get whatever personality you want. Monica would make note of it if you change the files themselves as we all know that monica is sentient.

Yuri:cuts herself constantly, if you read between the lines of her poems.

Also don't be sorry for pausing so much. we are here for exactly that! If we wanted to just hear the song we would go to the original. we want to see new people react to songs we already know and expressing your thoughts now and pausing is way better than you talking over the song and not being able to say everything you want and maybe even missing some good lines because of it or forgetting some things you wanted ot mention at the end. Please do what is necessary and pause when you need to. We are ok with it!
Interesting that you chose the slower orchestral version rather than the more quick paced comedic original. Many jokes that was in the original is completely gone here.
The original also had a more interesting video. You did say that the comments would tell you about it.

@@Insaneian Ok, it's a good version. But it's probably not that good for a comedy musician to react to compared to the original one. I'm quite surprised that there's no Yakult in america. It's fairly common around here and I thought it was a global thing.
It is something you can get in the US. I've seen it in small amounts in my local groceries stores, but its not in massive quantities.

Makoto Naegi is the protagonist of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. The DDLC protagonist doesn't really have an official name and is usually referred to as "mc" by the fandom. But the player can put in a name they want.
Yeah, I knew Makoto was from Ding Dang Romples since Grumps are playing it right now, but I couldn't remember the DDLC one since I watched it so long ago. Thanks!
I know I've commented twice already! 🤣 BUT! The stuff you saw in Stupes eyes in Okie Doki during the "Stupe-like wordplay verse" was actual the original video he made, it was sort of a callback :)

By the way, Yakult is a mini yogurt drink. You can find them in the cold beverage sections in Chinese supermarkets (in NYC at least)

Oh yeah the original Doki doki literature club song "Okie Doki" that has 10 mil is definitely the best :) The Minecraft version was just a...well Minecraft animated version of the original by another creator by the name of "Zamination" (who in which is a Minecraft animator) so don't really worry about reacting to that one, although Stupes original one is filled to the brim with glitchy references and the like :) (The quality being more in the usual Stupendium quality you're used to) It was the first song I listened to from the Stupendium back when I first discovered him and it's still one of my favorite songs of his. Als- Just MonikaJustMonikaJustMonikaJustMonik- *gasps* I uh...don't know what happened there 😅 Anyway I highly recommend it :)
Yes the puns are sneaky but on the original video I got to the point where I was hearing drinks that weren't there such as Tizer. Someone must be buying that wine for them to still make it or is it like coke where it's a good cleaning agent? The reaction is great.

No worries about the answer key reaction! You already reacted to the song as a song, this is more of a deep dive or lyric analysis at this point. You’re already familiar with the melody.
The point of the answer key is to make the details more visible, and I’m glad you took the time necessary to take it all in, it helped a lot.
I know you haven't done a reaction to Stupes newest song (The Apex) that came out just today, but you may or may not be canonically dead in the Stupes cinematic universe. 🤣

Yeah, Milk Milk Lemonade is really clever. At some point you need to do A Little Heart which is probably the best with wordplay other than MML. But it’s a lot easier to recognize.

You know you can pause and play CZcams videos with the "K" key? It would help stop all the times you accidentally right click.
Also for 31:18, while sometimes it can be a little annoying when you stop a lot (not because I don't like to hear your thoughts, but just because it's an interruption to Greg's incredible flow), this is actually the best video to stop every 3 seconds to, just to appreciate every individual pun.

Just my opinion, but I think both versions are good. This one really amplifies the horror aspect of the game and makes you stop to consider just how dark and messed up everything that goes down is. What Monika did to the other girls is absolutely awful, don't get me wrong, but then again, as shown in one of the game's endings, it's not specific to her. It seems that no matter which of these lovely ladies takes the role of club president, they will still become self aware, be driven insane by the knowledge that they are living in a simulation and everything and everyone else around them is a lie, and as a result be drawn towards the player who is the only other one who is real. My point being, I think that the original, upbeat version of the song that gradually becomes twisted as the events unfold and this one which sets a serious tone from the very start are equally appropriate and both deserve love (but with that being said, I'm glad you reacted to the original as well, it's some of Stupes' best work)

It may be the video. My capture software occasionally glitches the audio, but I only heard it at the beginning, didn't think it was throughout. Sorry about that.
