Merci pour cette si belle musique que j'ai découverte au cinéma dans Tous les matins du monde évoquant la vie de Mr de Ste Colombe et de Marin Marin. J'ai couru acheter les disques de Marin Marais par Jordi Savall.
The Royal Feet? Beautiful sounding ensemble but odd name. Nicolas Poussin wasn't "fishy" at all. His artwork was beautiful and this illustration here demonstrates his gifts for light and foreshortening. Exquis!
As far as the name of the ensemble goes, the first word is "aux" not "les", so a better translation would be "at the feet of the king".
Meh to the French style
What?!? Please tell me, you've got to be joking! OMG, it's one of THE MOST beautiful styles of music around. French baroque is the echelon of the baroque musical era. One can only wish they were around in the actual days of the Bourbon Monarchs & have been lucky enough to be a French courtier.
@@-msssrhmrydy12988 I love Ramaeu, Leclair, Charpentier, lully, Delalande I recently discovered, Couperin of course, lambert. Ramaeu and Couperin are my favorites. pay no attention to Tim. The painting, the woman on the left is looking at the cherub but the woman on the right appears to be looking up at something else. This work by Marais is just beautiful
The French style is the most formal and it has been performed that way. I thought "meh" until I discovered "Miserere à voix seule" by M.R. de Lalande as sung by Claire Lefilliâtre. Some French Baroque is delectable and amazing.
@@BohemianBaroque czcams.com/video/2V8O8W30sH4/video.html If this is formal, I don't care I'll take it, to me this is just a beautiful thing. I did like your Miserere by her too. thank you. I also loved this one czcams.com/video/2qCqXLLrpiM/video.html
@@fredgarv79 @fredgarv79 I have to agree with you. Lambert & Camber are very underestimated. Montéclair & Charpentier music's very spiritual & enchanting. I love Bach (their whole family,) Handel, Purcell, Albinoni, Vivaldi, there's so many, but nothing gives me chills & goosebumps like French baroque music does! Louis XIV & Louis XV were two very lucky men. (Not regarding the soon to be revolution, etc,) but they lived through one of the best musical time periods ever. Vivè le France & du musique Français!
