I would highly recommend listening to Night Shift by Lucy dacus, trust me it will change your opinion on her. I wasn’t a huge fan of hers until I heard Night Shift literally the greatest song ever made.

Glad you overcame some of the Lucy slander on We're In Love, her voice is so beautiful and works so well for the storytelling style of lyricism she does in her songs. The Julien love??? She is my star, I adore her, so glad you recognize how amazing her voice is. You gotta check out the boygenius EP that they did back in 2018, you will lose your mind at Salt in the Wound, I'm telling you, Julien at her finest on that little EP.

As someone who moved to Chicago (feel seen by True Blue, ngl) it's not even just crying, if it's cold enough the actual like -- mucus membrane freezes. You can bundle up everything but your eyes but man. Waiting on a train station and your eyes just are DRY AND COLD.

Personally, I prefer boygenius' EP, I can't recommend it enough. I think it's my favorite EP or album. Every song is 10/10, which I didn't feel about The Record. But then I generally prefer their more folk-sounding songs where their harmonies stand out (like Cool About It and Emily I'm Sorry) over their more rock-sounding songs, which have melodies that just don't usually scratch that itch for me (but the lyrics are always so clever)....though I love $20.
If you like boygenius you should listen to Lizzy McAlpine, same vibe.
