And they're really nicely finished too, to top it all off. Ibanez also has a few AZ Premium models which are similarly specced but have Gotoh hardware, but in all fairness that Ash body and Maple top are some serious bang for the buck.

I received my Cort X700 Duality last week and it's amazing. The nut is real bone, but came pretty rough in the slots (the depth and positioning were perfect at least), which was causing pinging and tuning instability with the tremolo, and after a quick polishing inside the slots, which I do on all my guitars anyways, with some string and metal polish, the string slots are now as smooth as glass, and tuning stability is perfect. I actually use regular sewing thread, and keep doubling about 6" of length (up to 50-60 strands on the low E), until I twist the strands together and it's the correct diameter for whatever slot I am working on. Then I rub some metal polish in the string, tightly twist the strands until the string is perfectly round, and 30 seconds of back and forth in the slot mostly pushing downward to the bottom and a little on the sides, the slots now look like glass, and it doesn't remove enough material to mess with the nut fit. It's kind of like final finishing the slots with 15000-20000 grit sanding cord of the perfect diameter, and when you are done, the slots look as shiny as glass. I then use a little nut grease in the slots (but any nut lube would be fine), and tuning stability is now perfect. This means the Cort tremolo system is perfect, but just needs the nut slots to be smooth and lubed (like all tremolo's do with non-locking nuts). Cort advertises that the tremolo block and saddles are stainless steel. Also, the factory fretwork on the stainless steel frets was extremely nice (they especially had really nice and smooth and rounded edges), but I took it one step further, and mirror polished all the frets when I had the strings off to polish the nut (I also reshaped the nut a little to round out the side edges to make it more comfortable). These couple of little easy tweaks made the guitar instantly feel and play like a $2,000+ guitar. Very happy with the guitar, and it sounds amazing, with a very low and fast action. Very resonate body and neck, and sustains for days. There is nothing like the feel of mirror polished stainless frets on a guitar. String bending feels like you are cheating. I was in the other room yesterday, and overheard this guitar apologizing to all my other guitars for making them look so bad... 😁 I think the Fender's are holding a grudge still, because I keep catching them rolling their eyes at the Cort... 👍

What a beautiful guitar. I'm a huge fan of Cort and have a set of the "M" Master series from the early to mid-2000s and love all 8 models. The M800 won Guitar Player Magazine Editor's Choice award so they have been making excellent guitars for many years. This one is no exception.

That's a gorgeous instrument. I followed the link, and the price is low for what you get. No hard-shell case, but that gig bag was really nice. Padding is a must, and so many gig bags are just a thin layer of material, and nothing to actually protect your guitar.
I'm happy with my Gibson, but honestly if I were going to look for a guitar both for personal enjoyment and playing out (full disclosure, I'm a keyboard player😁) this one would be very high on my list.

That is one shmexy guitar. That finish! Cort is one of those companies that sell to so many others as ghost builders that you probably have owned a Cort and didn't know it. And the SD JB & 59 set is about as solid as it comes. I would not even ding it for the broken string. I don't care if it's brand new, I ALWAYS remove the strings, set it up and Big Bendz the nut. Then restring it with my NYXL strings. Best strings made (IMHO) That tone is perfect and so is your demo. Your playing just gets better every time I watch

Recently good the newer X700 and I can say it is honestly good aside from the cosmetics thing ( there's a small crack on the side of the fretboard) and preference. Planning to set up my guitar with a luthier after this, (which I do every time I get a new guitar). Overall never been happier, it looks good and play good outside the box. With proper adjustments, it is a total beast and the price is nuts considering the spec of the guitar. Props to Cort.

My MIM Fender Strat broke a lot of strings right there at the tuning peg hole. Finally, took a thin round file to all the peg hole edges and a rolled up piece of wet/dry sandpaper, softening the edges . . . not another break in years. My LTD from Indonesia is flawless . . . copy of a Les Paul faded cherry burst . . . Cort produces for quite a few name brands.

You should have commented more on the tremolo. It is really a great tremolo that performs and sounds fantastic. I just bought a G260DX for around $250USD. The only thing that needed replacement was the tremolo springs. I really like the raw vintage springs and a bone nut. After this and a proper setup, this guitar kick ass. All the hardware on it is top notch. For $250USD is the best deal I ever had buying a guitar.

I got the blue one at the beginning of the year and was apparently one of their NAMM display models which was pretty sick. The thing is a beast but had some odd issues? Idk how anyone played it initially because when I got it the string slots were almost non existant so the strings would move side to side a bit and buzz out. Never had that issue where there were like... no string slots haha Though after fixing the nut and giving it a proper setup and working out a loose solder connection the thing plays awesome! The fretwork truly is immaculate. Also mine actually has a light grade piece of flamed maple for the neck stripe which was a pleasant surprise! All things considered all n all pretty big bang for the buck! Just had to work out a couple things.

Hi Phil, I'm a rank Beginner, I bought this guitar a couple years again in the blue color and I'm really impressed with the quality. I know I'm not much of a judge being such a rookie but it seems well made. I also just bought a Fender Strat Ultra Luxe which I also play terribly. I pray for the day I can really play a song well, I don't know the answer, you make it look so easy but I know you put a lot of time into playing so well. I also bought a Martin D28 modern deluxe and it is just painful to play. I got it a couple years ago also and I'm wondering if the strings have raised off the neck over two years. I'm going to drag it into Guitar Center and get them to adjust it. I wish I could do it myself but maybe someday when I grow a guitar brain.

Although I'm not a giant fan of Cort, the Jeff Berlin Signature 'Rhithimic' bass is really quite nice for under a grand and it compares favorably with the Peavey Palaedium Jeff Berlin signature and the Dean that was out a few years' ago.

I have a second hand cheapo Cort G110 HSS superstrat, my first ever electric, and I LOVE it!!. My cheapo Cort acoustic AD810 dreadnought is also full of soul. Cort is not just a 'no name' brand. It is a brand anyone would love if they can get past their brand snobbery and try one.

I think that It is a common issue with the string breaking at Cort locking tuners. I experienced the same in my brand new Cort KX 700. I think that it is because of the quatlity of the locking tuners. I lost three E1 strings in a row. It helped to switch the tuners in their places and pile the hole a little bit. Before that I was on the way to return the guitar to the shop. Hey Cort, this is something you definitely need to improve!!!

If I just saw a picture of that, I would've assumed it was some kind of custom Kiesel Aries lol

Cort is outstanding. Had a CR250 Les Paul type for years and it was a great guitar. Definitely better then any Epiphone. Cort also made a PRS SE I had. Cort makes a lot of guitars for other companies

Hey Phillip, I follow your channel since the early 2018 and its great. I ve bought a Danelectro 59 and your review was fundamental in that decision. Man, have checked out the Cort Sunset with a Duncan Design P90 and a Telecaster bridge? I ve been impressed by its sound in certain videos I watched. Would like to see your review and know your impressions about it. Thank you man for your videos and have a nice day. ⚡🎼

Another in this style is the Vintage V6M24. They come with a either a Floyd or a Wilkinson. Under $500. I now own two. I play one of them more than my Charvel. Not as high-end as this, but still excellent.
