What is so very special about this sharing is that it gives historic context. Thanks so much.
This man has so much courage and bravery. My hats are off to him with such a breathtaking freefall!
It was incredible to watch live!
Felix became the First human to break the sound barrier in freefall, completed the Highest freefall parachute jump (38,969.4 m / 127,852 ft) and achieved the Fastest speed in freefall (1,357.6 km/h / 843.6 mph).
On 24 October 2014, Google executive Alan Eustace (USA) fell to Earth from 41,422 metres (135,898 ft), and broke Felix’s record for the Highest freefall parachute jump.
No WONDER Red Bull drinks are so expensive.. As many PAYCHECKS I've probably spent on Red Bull in the past 20yrs, they should let ME DO THAT! Awesome
the greatest thing since the moon landing
Beanmachine91 it was very exciting and inspiring!
With huge balls like that you would expect him to fall much faster 😬

God is great. Really very tuff . Man of the powers. Am really very proud of you Honourable Sir ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
2:04... I don't think that was tears of joy. Poor woman was probably terrified. She was probably thinking maybe that was the last time she'll see her son. There's obviously an element of danger in this.
A big element of danger . It’s foolishness
I was 12 when this happened I remember this moment clearly
the targue. the targue. the pint.
BAD ASS!!!
It was so bad ass to watch live! Incredible energy that day!
God keep happy you eagle space
God bless you
It was so incredible to watch live!
Does anyone know what happened to the capsule after he jumped?
They did show it. They released it from the balloon and it came down with a parachute around 34:56 and again from 35:25
36:11 Chute roadies...
He should have landed in the Carribbean as the earth moves eastwards
Thrust SSC Rocketcar
What happened to that pod and balloon?
The balloon burst (that happen to any balloon at a certain height) and the pod came down with its own parachute.
Something about this doesn't add up.If it took Felix 2.5 hours to complete his jump and all the while the earth is spinning at approx 1000 mph then by my crude calculations he should have landed 2500 miles away and yet miraculously he landed just 23 miles away.Thats impossible on a spinning globe!!!!!
Reference frames are hard, huh?
where are the material from the camera on felix himself? its gone... searching for it for hours now...

So he went supersonic....big deal lol
Na, that was tight, that was tight =)
it's interesting, how Earth suddenly stopped rotating :))))
ITS WAS THE BALLOON ROTATING...NOT EARTH...
Anna // What makes you think you would be able to see the Earth rotate?
I watched it it is Dylan h
DOESNT THIS KINDA PALE IN COMPARISION AS TO GOING TO THE MOON?
Of course, going to the moon is a far greater feat, so why state the obvious?

RawkneeSalami true, apologies, I’ll fix the title 🤘
Do they get the capsule back or??
superjet113 // Yes, the capsule was jettisoned from tha balloon remotely, and safely parachuted back to Earth so the onboard data could be retrieved.
what happened to the capsule? and where is it now? Did an alien saw the balloon? 😏
Good question! I'm not saying it was aliens...but....
Check 34:56 and 35:25, the capsule came down with a parachute.

Have you never seen footage before, that's been recorded using GoPro cameras that are fitted with distorting wide-angle lenses?
Not the sharpest tool in the shed are you, LOL.
@@tyronecrossman5014 Yes, the earth is a spherical planet, but if a flat earther were to ask you what has caused the earth to appear THIS round and distorted in the footage, what would your explanation be?
So all that and he didn’t break the world record?
Felix became the First human to break the sound barrier in freefall, completed the Highest freefall parachute jump (38,969.4 m / 127,852 ft) and achieved the Fastest speed in freefall (1,357.6 km/h / 843.6 mph).

Can this technology be used to transfer heavy loads into the space? As a first stage to break the gravity? Laboratories in zero gravity will produce new materials, New science! Can it be useful in colonizing a moon? Anyone knows?
It is not some special technology, actually I think the balloon is more or less just a high altitude weather balloon. And the cargo is very small. This balloon is already huge, just for this little capsule. But the main problem: A helium balloon cannot go into space, by definiton, because you don't have enough buoyncy at one point. The altitude record by a helium balloon was 51km. That is only half way to space.
And probably you have some misconception about space. You cannot break gravity, it is always there. Also in space. You just can do things to prevent things from falling down. One is an orbit. And for that you have to fly around the earth extremly fast. So it i about the velocity, not the altitude. And about what kind of laboratories are you thinking? We have laboratories in an orbit around the earth: The International Space Station.
And we will never colonize the moon. Too little gravity, no atmosphere.
How is the horizon still at eye level if we live on a ball?
Your a dumbass
@@M3xVerstappen1 Thats not an explanation
@@lindawitt3796 What you should have asked Romans, is how he can ascertain from the footage, where the horizon is actually oriented with regards to eye level?
Just out of interest you're not one of these deluded flat earth believing fools are you?
@@M3xVerstappen1 You should not use *dumbass* with *your a*
The horizon is not eye level.
At 4:47 freeze frame the video and tell me why the earth looks flat with out a fisheye cam?
Nasa has definitely distorted the image to make the earth appear 'rounder'. The earth's horizon looks much flatter at 4:47 and flatter still at 26:56 where you can see it through the window and door at the same time.
wogznwogz This is not a NASA mission.
@@wogznwogz // NASA had absolutely nothing to do with this project. It was completely financed privately. Also, he was only 24-miles high off the ground, NOT in orbit or outer space. His own field of view from that height would have allowed him to see the Earth's curvature, but unfortunately, not the camera which you are referring to.
Nowhere did I say Nasa had anything to do with this project nor did I refer to any camera. All I said was that Nasa has distorted our image of the Earth to make it look 'rounder' and that the horizon looks much flatter during the previously mentioned times.
@@wogznwogz // The first word in your first comment above is "NASA". I see that I'm not the only person to take this to mean that NASA had something to do with this project. Another commenter mentioned it as well. There are several different video segments besides this one of Baumgartner's jump on YT, and the vast majority of Flat Earth believers are trying to say that the jump and the recording of this jump wasn't real, and/or NASA somehow had something to do with it.
Sorry he only landed 25 ks from his originsl dtarting point and as the earth spun 2500 miles in thst 2.5 hour mission hr dhould have landed straight back down in the Pacific!!!
Reference frames are hard, huh?
It's not the full version. It has been edited after many have show problems that they missed during the movie production set. Scary how they spend so much money and EFFORTS to lie! Even scarier how many seem to follow and believe the lie. This is all a production and not real.
Try learning a thing or two next time before making assumptions.
28:59 ... Earth is Flat AF 🙀
🙄 For the love of God, research how high it takes for a camera pointing straight out, with a tiny window of view (like the one through the door), to show the damn curvature of the Earth. It's like fucking standing on the moon or Mars, peeping straight out of a hole. You're going to see a flat line. Doesn't mean the planet is.
16 minutes in, 80,000 ft, he says you begin to see the curvature of the earth. Do you though? Neil Degrass Tyson said even at 128,000 ft up that shit looks flat. Hmm.. I'm watching a consistent fish eye lens distortion as he goes up.
@@Volleyball_Chess_and_Geoguessr Just because the look of the earth is distorted in the footage due to the use of a camera with a wide-angle lens, why is there any debate about the fact that the earth is a spherical planet?
@@Volleyball_Chess_and_Geoguessr Funny how you're quite happy to believe anything that Degrass Tyson says, yet if he told you that the earth is a spherical planet, you'd say that he is a liar.
@@sailorman8668 I like to use the opponents own words to make my case. If even a glober says it still looks flat at 128,000 feet up - why would he be lying? Has more weight than a flat earther saying the same thing.
Felix showed how hard it is to move around in vacuum of space. Thinking now of the Apollo astronauts jumping around like ballerinas doing backflips on the moon. Hmmmm
jc dova //
1. Felix was NOT in space, according to the definition of where "space" begins (i.e. - @62-miles high);
2. Felix was NOT in a vacuum;
3. Felix was still under the nearly full effect of Earth's gravitational pull (approximately 9.81-m/s^2 or 32.2-miles/s^2 at the surface);
4. Any restriction of movement at the altitude from which he jumped is due solely to the bulkiness of his protective suit and the confines of the small suspended pod;
He wasn't far enough into Space, he was in the stratosphere (near space), & there's still gravitational pull in stratos.
@@iwant2haveu You seem to be implying that there's no gravity in space - where did you get that idea from?
The footage of the door open with a clear sunny plane of farmland going off in the distance with a 100% flat surface has been erased...I saw it in real time...So sad that people are fooled by the fish eye lens...
ROB-IN-PHILLY the jump?
