Love the guy that is hooked up to James when he pulled James's head back to keep him from looking down. That shows he knows what he was talking about with his 7000 jumps and knows what he is doing.
It wasn't to keep him from looking down. It's to help him achieve the arch position upon exiting the plane. Every tandem jump has to put our heads all the way back and arch our bodies upon exit.

Tom cruise skydives like he’s riding a bicycle
It’s not a difficult thing to do.
He had to do over a hundred jumps before ever getting that shot of him skydiving in mission impossible perfectly. He had to do a lot of hours in a wind tunnel and go jumping two to four times a day. To put it into perspective getting certified requires you to have seven student jumps and 25 experience jumps. He did way more than that just being ready to do that one shot of him skydiving in that movie. So yes he is definitely a legitimate skydiver.
@@robertfitzsimmons9428 true, but it’s not like you can just throw someone out a plane and expect them to have a stable body position. Most likely they would be flailing around and shit and would probably cause panic. It may not be hard, but you certainly have to have some knowledge and experience to look as stable as Tom was. Especially when he would flip on his back.

If you take air resistance into the equation, the mass of the object you look at actually does play a role in its acceleration/velocity though.

@Ingens_Scherz I'm a skydiver... in fairness to the Tandem Instructor, James Corden weights a little bit, this makes it harder to brake as effectively, therefore the approach is to come in quicker so the chute has more lift. In theory it was a good landing...because touch down was soft enough and it was controlled.

@@mikedeguzman6006 100% professional skydiver, you wouldn't be able to fly stable on your first jumps, that's why there is whole course to do the licence (AFF), where you jump with 2 instructors flying next to you, holding you and helping to get good body position. Also to be able to fly faster/slower to match the speed of others, without uncontrolled moves, spinning and staff you need experience. Even small moves with hands or legs can change your direction/position. Also there are regulations about jumping next to other people (licence A, at least 25 jumps), and to jumping with camera (at least 200 jumps). There is much more to skydiving, then just falling ;)
The cameraman that do this are great at their job and they've always have been.

Very little jumps in the world of skydive he is very much an amateur and it shows from a skydivers eye. We have women who are 65 years old who have over twenty thousand jumps and still going. Lol trust me no tandem instructor in the world is gonna let a new jumper with under 200 jumps come that close to him the way he did in freefall. Very unstable. Tom was definitely getting special treatment
Plus landing a ram air canopy with a light wing loading is very easy to land like that even on the first jump

@@BijinMCMXC I know, that's funny for me too, but most of people never experienced free fall and they have no idea, that it's not so easy to keep balance, specially at the beginning ;)
If anyone here wants to know how it feels I highly recommend doing it, it's the greatest feeling in the world :D Of course you not jumping alone on the beginning, there are 2 instructors flying next to you ready to help you till you open the canopy ;) Or you could also try tandem jump on the beginning, where you are strapped to the instructor and worry about nothing, just a passenger for the ride ;)

When tandem jumping you are stuck to eachother, you can't really run when landing like you can when jumping solo, that's why you're supposed to lift upp your legs and land on your ass, like going on a water slide haha, problem in the video was the he split his legs to much, he should have kept them together!
