That's the MK11 in him making him do that. You can low block mids in that game.
They have hits classified as "overhead" that crushes crouched opponents. They are essentially high/mid attacks with a downward hitting animation. Gotta stand and guard those.

You can if your timing is right and you double block, then you space that with a short punch or kick when the big finish comes your way.
For 2d fighting gamers, low block was basically a DEFAULT block because overhead in 2d game generally (but not all) didn't launch you to massive damage but low (even a low jab or low low short) in 2D game usually lead to a massive combo (You can clearly see how Geese and Akuma capitalized those. Heck, if they put NEST Kyo from KOF13, Kyo could did a 75-100% with 3 bars off of a low short just like Akuma and Geese). Tekken did the opposite, Mid are the main launch and low launcher are more risky compare to mid.

You're jumping the gun. You have to fight the gods to know how to beat them. Even an anime character like Kakarot learned that lesson when trying to fight Beerus. You don't get to god level fighting the average fighter. You fight the best

I remember getting tekken 3 as a young kid and looking at the move lists in training mode and trying to do everyones and I could never get through king's list maybe cause he was so different from the other characters, and thinking if someone could get these moves down then others would be in a lot of trouble!

Even if his execution is easy, the mindgames against an opponent of Lil Majins skill aren't easy for anybody, that's the skill I'm referencing moreso than his execution. He's gotta choose when to get in and how to maximize his turn and do so against somebody who's in the top 5 or 10 percent of players.

Man this guy Sonic is crazy. So good at so many different games. I am excited to see him play tekken! TruMusic89 Sounds like your trying to say Tekken is hard? Combos in this game isn't tough at all and there's plenty of material out there to utilise it's simple. Hardest part bout the game is using movement. You can't just throw out any buttons like sonic does in the games he plays in. I mean it shows, he throws out random 1+2 as Miguel, he's not even in range to hit king and he still throws buttons.
TruMusic89 But you don't need 100 moves, you only use 10-15 moves at most. Just like what lil Majin is doing. All you need is the bnb and your Good. No he's whiffing because he tends to stand a 2 whole character space out and thinks he can just dash in and press buttons. Mk 11 you can see he mostly just throws out strings. Even if they whiff you can't punish someone advancing forward with buttons because the game doesn't allow you to do that. Movement is so limited your usually forced to block. And most moves end up being safe anyway. It's not like SF where if they miss an attack, the opponent can go on offensive. SF your not given the ability to do anything from a missed attack. While in mk, you just keep pressing buttons to continue the string with no problems. Tekken is similar but most strings are punishable or leave you on negative. Allowing the opponent to retaliate. Sonicfox only does well I'm the games that allow him to press buttons, be aggressive and not be able to be challenged for it such mk11, injustice and dbfz. Reason why he's so good in the game because it suits his overall aggressive playstyle. He can't play super aggressive in SF, Tekken or soul calibur as good players punish you hard for little mistakes.

TruMusic89 I mean seriously you see him whiff rising 1 and then he proceeds to keep pressing buttons and get counter hit again by back 1. It's not that he doesn't understand the mechanics. He's played enough fighting games for a long time so he knows what's up. He's just a player who loves to keep pressing buttons. It's his thing and it works. It shows in all of his videos that he plays the aggressive type player who tries to beat you with overaggrassive playstyle. Watch his matches with GOI, 70% of the match is sonicfox just continuously applying pressure and pressing buttons while GOI is forced to block, most of the game. He plays alot more defensive but the game barely rewards him as when it comes to playing someone as stubborn as sonicfox, he'll just keep going and going. He doesn't care if you block, to him that's his way to win the game. Go look at all of sonicfox clip, he plays the aggressive, continuous pressure everytime. Reason why joker is such a good character for him. Setups, to keep applying more and more pressure to force the opponent to be on the defensive. While also having a good ranged string that allows him to throw it out while also gaining distance and be able to keep him safe aka dbfz in a nutshell.

Guys, I hate Mk11 and most 2D fighters as well, but we gotta be supportive of new players. I know Sonic can act arrogant but he really is a talented player and we need to try to welcome him to the game cuz he will bring more players in the long run which will expand the community. It was great to watch Majin destroy him but we need to not be hateful cuz it's not going to help anything. Is Sonic going to make top 8 anytime soon? No, but he is improving quickly and with time could become really elite. I dont even like Sonic, in fact I would say that I dislike him, but the hate that i see in the comments makes us look bad as a community and is completely unnecessary.

I’ve been wanting sonic fox to get into the Tekken scene for over a year now, maybe longer. Thinking of how he would do against the greats like lil majin, jdcr, the mainmanswe, Qudans, knee, and most certainly Arslan Ash. Sonic Fox is a bit of a Prodigy, any game he picks up, he doesn't take long to get real good at, real adaptable player, apparently he played like, every FG as a kid, so he has a lot of experience. And even new ones like UNIB he's super good at and has won tournaments for.

@@harajayku I saw many of his tourney matches, and if you have seen them, you know. Tbh I didn't buy Injustice 2 as he was one of the first few who played the game and showed how flawed it was being super spam friendly which the players call it "zoning" just through his gameplay. Zangana that’s one play style you’ve seen out of the many different ones he has when it comes to combos & pressure. I always see him support every other gamer in twitch streams, youtube, or any other social media platform. Just because he wants to try out different games and be the best at it doesn’t make him a “brat spammer” or whatever you call it. As i said every lost is a lesson.

You realize that even though Sonic is really good at fighting games, he still has massive advantages when coming into new games right? Tons of twitter/stream monsters to take advice from. The ability to phone up any pro you want to learn from them. He's definitely one of the greats, but not everyone has the learning tools and experience he does.

Status doesnt matter in tekken most good tekken players can easily see What sonic fox needs to work on this vid, havnt seen much of him playing. And the first thing I realised is that he’s playing unsafe quite much and not respect being in minus and not utilising 3D too.

maybe playing Mishimas(heihachi,kazu,jin) for a bit can really help him into improving on his movements, fundamentals, execution and all....because mishimas are the most difficult character but you can actually learn from those character......and again NO OFFENCE....its just an opinion dont want hate comments here😁
Yeah, I'm Tekken through and through but it seems like there are a lot here who just don't like Sfox for no valid reason. I'm sure the pros have respect for him. Lil Majin seemed to enjoy playing him and showed class.

I never saw Sonic fox hit Tekken God prime on PS4, judging buy when he's pushing buttons I can't see it tbh....we won't be seeing Sonic fox dominate Tekken ever imo. Tekken is a different kind of beast. Commitment and experience are king here my guy

Well, you're not wrong, but it also depends on your knowledge that you applied in the game, SonicFox has been dominating many games online, he has been in Evo on every game, and he either win 1st or at least Top 5.
Besides, from my pov, SonicFox is already good at this game, he just need master it, and he will be very good.
Edit: The fact that he knows about Sidestepping, Backdash, the use of RA and RD means that he is at least a decent player.
You also have to take note that yes, SonicFox has the time to become better at the game, but so do the pros. I think it is nearly impossible for SonicFox to come close to those in pro level, since those guys already have a massive lead on him which is also increasing everyday as they practice and play Tekken. While SonicFox learns the basics, the pros and other high level Tekken players are perfecting their match up knowledge. I think SonicFox is a little late on this game to truly compete with the Tekken gods and other high level tekken players.
