- Hey yalllll, welcome to my channel. I was making an abaya for my website and decided to record it. It’s not super detailed because I didn’t want to make it super long but if yall want a more detailed tutorial let me know in the comments. I’m gonna leave some general measurements I use below that can help yall out.

These are general measurements that I use to make all of my abayas on my website.
*When breaking down the measurements remember that shoulder and armhole measurements get divided by 2. Bust and waist get divided by 4!

As salaam alaikum sis! Great video! Can we get that more in depth video 👀. Right now I’m struggling with the neck part 😩 how do I finish it? Do I just fold it over & sew it?
Walaikum Salaamu. I’m sorry just seeing this comment, but I add a strip of fabric to finish the neckline. I don’t like when I fold it over because it never comes out how I like lol so I add a folded over strip like how it is on a tshirt.
@iamamarie so i followed your video and it came out amazing! 1 questions it seems that my sides appear longer than the rest of the dress. i followed your instructions making the circle shape do you know what i could of did wrong. or does it maybe just look like that because i am looking down. I am kind of short i made it 53 inches cause i wear clogs the front is perfect
Most times it comes out like that so you just have to line everything up and even it out. So before you hem take your abaya abaya and fold it in half and then you’ll be able to tell if everything lines up correctly. Sometimes when sewing the sides will stretch so you have to do some adjustments at the end before hemming.
I took your advise and it worked perfectly after i hemmed i laid it out to look at it so what i did was went up two inches on the side and created more of a curve and it worked perfectly! Shukran for your help@@iamamarie
