    A comment from 2023 :)
    First of all Lulu sets character power to 5000, meaning that any Power pump is added after that. From my experience, this made Lulu unplayable in that domain as there are nowadays so many power buffs (especially in any decks that come out of starter decks). She still is a solid character as searching for Summons or Yuna in BZ is very useful.
    There are some great "free" Leviathans in opus 19 which make this deck a beast when combined with Lulu and Tros (16-117) (which that can also benefit from Yunaless' Rikku). What is more if you are one FFX forward short for Tidus, Tros can aid you in need.
    My experience from playing this deck is rather funny: I have no idea why I was drawing card from Auron upon entering (never on exit) next to Summoner and always was forgetting about Rikku's draw - I would say it made the mistakes even :) but it is still good idea to pay attention to Rikku as her replacement effect has this additional draw. Besides that, deck is a control freak wet dream. You can react to almost anything, Wakka, Jecht (BTW: great tip about fetching second copy of it with targeting own Tidus) can break anything and with Leviathans flying in and out of Break Zone you can remove anything that could pose a threat to your offense. Your key elements are well guarded with Auron and Kimahri so opponent must overcommit in order to break your key pieces. One or two copies of Wind Sin(14-045) can absolutely block your opponent possibilities of doing us any harm, so it is worth to think about him.
    One final piece of advice would be not to cast Wakka before we can shield him from 5K kills. It is an irritating mistake to have him killed before we can trigger him.

      Yeah Wakka needs the shield nowadays more then ever. My updated list uses the new Backup Rikku since she lets you play the Fire Jecht. Thanks for the comment!

    Gotta say, along with Avalanche, I love how the structure decks for the game are doing a good job at a mostly playable archetype with upgradable pieces. If someone were to ask me "hey, I want to get into the game, where do I start", the Guardian deck is absolutely what I'd say - just a strong recursive engine that's mostly contained in the structure deck while also having plenty of upgradability and, most importantly, really doesn't need the important staples compared to most starting places. Even compared to something like Avalanche, you don't need 3 Amaterasu and 3 Terra for this deck to function which is fantastic - Bismarck and Leviathan would be tech choices, not necessary engine pieces in this compared to something like Sky Pirates.
    Do I think this is an absolute Tier 1 meta-defining deck? Probably not. Is it a good starting place, cheap to upgrade and more than competitive at a local or even regional level? Absolutely and they should be extremely happy with how this came out. Personally, I'd find a place for 2 or 3 Porom Legends in the list and maybe a Laksmi or Zidane as just versatile catch-all cards and I'd swap one of the Diabolos's for a copy of Choco/Mog (no idea who could have given you that idea. I'm sure they're a giant nerd though.) Also, this might be one of the best use cases for Aerith from Opus 14 for setup tools - bouncing Tidus to replay him for free on a really good color fixing card is just a nice bonus.
    Great deck profile!

      The core pieces are quite strong so I'm excited to see how different folks choose to build around it. Yeah that Choco/Mog guy is quite the nerd, but I like him ;)

    This deck seems a ton of fun. The Tidus to find fire CP Jecht or Jecht special is pretty wild. Hand trap Jecht is probably the scariest thing to know your opponent has ready. As FFX is your favorite game I want to ask if you're following the channel Resonant Arc? They're currently doing an analytical look at FFX that they upload weekly on Wednesdays. Very great content. As is yours!

    I was thinking similar with the choco/mog summon, because if you sneak in chocolatte as well to fulfill the chocobo part (via Izana or maybe the new chocobo sam), and with the water moogle, it's an easy draw and deal 5k+ damage, which you could maybe swap out for the diabolos or the remora. Regardless, great deck tech!

    Hi Hi. Im not as big a ff10 fanatic as you, but im a big fftcg enjoyer so i wanted to see your take on some of these:
    -First and foremost, have you updated to use the new Braska(16-133s)? He's like the strongest thing ever against aggro.
    -Isn't 3 light Tidus too many? Ive found the more competitive my decks get, the more I hate drawing triple light/dark within a few turns. usually means insta-loss for me.
    -You ever consider Shinra EX and Pain EX? (2-063r) Would solve cutting on light Tidus and still have same effects, while adding juicy EX burst.
    -Have you considered running Sara and Princess Sarah? You can almost guarantee water/wind/fire within first 3 turns. Your backup setup is cool, but clunky.
    -What do you think about having more fire options in Amaterasu? It feels like a must in my games against my friends.
    -Also Ifrit EX (11-001r) going with Lulu. It's so free.
    -I feel like Jecht (16-131s) is so much stronger than Jecht blitzballer. Feels so good while ahead, and so crucial while behind and taking damage.
    -You touched on it but isn't 2 drop backup Kimahri is like absolutely busted? Yuna>Auron>Ronso counter on Auron. Spells death to a lot of decks with damage based removals.
    -Do you ever have problems getting self damage? My friends get defensive and some times dont push for damage at all. Bahamut EX (6-127c) helps me push myself to 3 damage, while also pressing forward smoothly.
    -And we end it with this..a nod to the first point: FF10 is a pretty good midrange deck. But once setup with water/wind/double fire back ups....there's nothing scarier than Braska's Grand Summon in the late game. You think having fire isnt worth the commitment?
    We have a lot of differences so I would love to hear your thoughts on these.
    Here is my list for reference:
    www.ffdecks.com/deck/6268571618377728
    I do make tweaks on my decks often, to adjust for the meta.

      @rudrose_entertainment  Před rokem +1

      Hi there. Thanks for the comment, I will try to answer all of your points.
      - If I were to rework the deck at all I'd drop the fire entirely and just do water wind. The fire has bricked me too many times to feel super confident playing it in a big tourney. 3 light Tidus, sometimes does feel like a lot but it's a burst and a card I want to replay and let die over and over so, for the most part, it has worked out well. But yes, if it bricks you too much cut it down.
      -Shinra and Pain are both great choices.
      -Water/Wind pure versions do run either the Sara or Norschtalen package. Those are much more consistent then my line up.
      -I can't see ever giving up Jecht Block. It's the only thing in the entire game that says stop anything your opponent can do.
      -I'd swap out forward Kimhari for sure but I only find that back up to be so so. Everytime I tried it, they were running non damage based removal. Bad luck for me perhaps?
      -No issues with self damage. Wakka, Yuna into Auron, Tidus is so absurd a play even on turn one. Damage 3 is great but I have seen the Guardians win plenty of times by just going aggro.
      -Sadly I play and test out so many decks that I rarely get to go back and tweak old ones. That being said I would absolutely tweak this. New cards are always good at replacing old ones.
      -Your deck is way too into 3 colors for my personal tastes but if you can make it work, more power to you. Braska is really fun to play with. Hope it brings you success! Thanks for watching.

    1: Final Fantasy X is weird, Tidus never tells Yuna his name.
    2: This deck looks like a troll and a half and I love it. lol

    You should try out chocobo, althea, Bismark, typhoon, 3 drop rikku, and just play around Yuna. Its so good at advantage

  • @zig1613
    @zig1613 Před 2 lety

    Hey, great video! I have a question about Yuna's damage 3 ability activating. Does it go on the stack when Yuna's on the field and I hit damage 3 (goes on stack as soon as I gain priority next) or do I have to hold out on playing Yuna until damage 3 to be able to use it?

    • @rudrose_entertainment
      @rudrose_entertainment  Před 2 lety +2

      Glad you liked it! So her damage 3 ability is a field effect. Field effects do NOT use the stack. The moment you take the 3rd point of damage, the effect kicks in and every Guardian Forward you control will instantly be plus 2000 power. There is no window for your opponent to respond to that as it doesn't use the stack (no field effect does). You can play Yuna at any time to get her on entry effect of reviving a Guardian or reactivating backups. The damage is irrelevant for that. They only time it matters is if she enters on Damage 5 or 6, she will get both "Recur a guardian" and Activate all Back ups. I hope that answered your question :)

    • @rudrose_entertainment
      @rudrose_entertainment  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello Scraps Captain! It can but I think you'd want to retool it a bit. You probably want more summons and maybe lean into fire more if you choose to use Braska's. I'm not sure what I'd tinker with for that.

    • @CptHawk-og4md

      @@rudrose_entertainment I was thinking to add Braska, amaterasu, Brynhildr and maybe terra (?) and the moogle that provides fire cp as baclward. Cut down to 0 Kimari forward and maybe 2x of rikku? :)
