This was such a wonderful scene. You could tell Trevor was showing real emotion when they sung that song for him,. Even though he wasn't really australlian, he was really moved. The way he just walked off into the darkness and the music still playing almost brought a tear to my eye. R.I.P Trevor; the most underrated actor of all time.

I was blessed to spend a lot of time with Trevor when JAG was filmed in Australia - I was his body double and extra on a few scenes. Really nice guy - even gave me his home phone number and address and said I have a place to stay in LA.
Sadly missed him by 1 year. Great friendly memories💖💖

I love that JAG paid respect to Hollywood's most underrated actor of all time. Trevor Goddard truly was one of the funniest and most talented actors that ever lived. I'm almost brough to tears when I see this because it is such a fitting tribute.

The title is Australian slang for traveling by foot with one's goods in a "Matilda" (bag) slung over one's back. The song narrates the story of an itinerant worker, or "swagman", making a drink of tea at a bush camp and capturing a sheep to eat. When the sheep's owner arrives with three police officers to arrest the worker for the theft, the worker commits suicide by drowning himself in the nearby watering hole, after which his ghost haunts the site. Definitely a sad song! Great scene though..

This clip was also heard in the 9th season opener of JAG,which is dedicated to Trevor Goddard, who was on JAG for 3 years. It's a shame that there hasn't been any other Australian Navy Officers seen on JAG later on or it's spinoffs either.

Really show their respect by mourning his character as well

I'm not Australian nor a Yank but I sing it. This song extends international boundaries and culture. It is a song about fighting for your freedom .."You'll never take me alive..." the swagman declared before he dove to his death. He gave more importance to his freedom over his life. This should have been the Australian National Anthem but who am I to impose if the Australians practised their freedom in a form of referendum? As the Yanks would say.. "Live Free or Die!".

Owning all ten seasons it's almost hard to believe this is only season five. Five years later at the end of the series the only real major change is that the Admiral retired (and another happy thought is that Lt. Bitch is dead!). Even though I love the show they were smart to go off the air rather than ruining the series with major, inevitable changes, like with what's happened to "Law and Order" over the years.
