Excellent reaction. Joakim has a special affinity for Murphy and has visited his grave in Arlington. Their first tank drum riser is named "Audie" in his memory. Murphy's son visited Sabaton backstage and gave them a signed poster of the movie and told them he was glad there was at least one song about his father that was not country. Many of the lyrics in this song are from a poem Murphy wrote called "The Crosses Grow on Anzio." For me the most poignant line is "Let them fall face down if they must die, Making it easier to say goodbye."
His most horrific battle was against his addiction. He knew that locking himself inside his room for 10 days was needed, so he followed through & actually conquered it. He was a hero in every major battle, much like others. I salute all heroes.
Just about any of their songs covers a wonder of the world. The Unkillable Soldier, Night Witches, Red Baron, The Last Stand, To name a few. For one that gives me the giggles, listen to & google the Winged Hussars. I can visualize everything from seeing the whites of the horses' eyes, to their riders flying through the air.
