@@pokefairyroseI did a few straightforward ones already (eg: extending the lightning on Piston-fist Cyclops). Next Ill try extending an easy land. Matching the colors is hard haha

Those golden brand paints are pricey, is there a reliable alternative at a lower cost that sticks well to mtg cards

Acrylic paints from the craft store are just fine, matters more the colors/pigment. You could create a minimal primary palette with higher quality paints and supplement craft paints for specialty colors, get small quantities. I have painted with those little craft kits of heavy body paints too. A little goes a long way for alters; these little golden fluid acrylic bottles have lasted a long time!
