- Loki sees different Variants of himself - Loki Explains The Difference Between His 2 Powers - Loki (TV Series 2021) S1E2 "The Variant"
- Krátké a kreslené filmy
If Loki only made illusions, then his powers would be very weak. But Lokis "illusions" have substance. Which makes them much more powerful.
Loki 's illusions are convincing enough that even Heimdall can't detect him
In the comics, Loki had MANY powers, and was almost as strong as Thor. But of course the MCU had to tone him down a bit.
Well, that depends. Some illusions can be heard as well as seen, and most of *those* can also be felt. The question is, is it a *physical* or a *mental* illusion? If it’s all in your head, then *anything* could be real; but if it’s *physical* than it’s more grounded in reality.
But illusions in all their forms are a criminally underrated power. If it’s physical, there’s no reason but control (which can be trained) that it can’t be weaponizable by way of everything from nanotechnology to nuclear fission. And if it’s mental it’s a pocket Matrix/Inception hybrid; so why not put your enemies in their own personal Mirror Dimension, that actually *doesn’t* keep them from affecting the world, but doesn’t tell them that?
@@montylc2001thankfully, they made him much more powerful now
Loki's explanation implies that his powers are based on manipulating light into a solid holographic mirror.
Which is why when he makes clothes for himself, it is solid as well.. it is also why he literally glows when he creates duplicates or casts illusions that are objects.
It is actually a really smart way of explaining his magic with science.
The key difference between the two is that Loki's illusions can be selectively tangible when he wishes them too, meaning they are able to interact with the physical world when that is useful, but also to be impervious when useful. It also means the capability to duplicate the current equipment being held or used, though not any of its supernatural powers. A Loki "illusion" is just as much a physical threat as the original. That is not a difference that anyone should ever dismiss.
Although coupling it with shapeshifting can often seem like illusion-projection, given that it can appear as anything, rather than exclusively a mirror image of his own body. Because if one Loki can shapeshift, surely his duplicates can too.
@@gavindinsmoor8196I don't think the duplicates can shapeshift independent of Loki. He says in the clip that the duplicates are a mirror of the original, down to the molecular level, which seems to indicate that the duplicates can only look like what the original looks like at that particular moment.
But like you said, combining duplicate casting with illusion casting and shape-shifting is wildly powerful. Doubly so when you consider that Loki doesn't need to actually "cast" any spells like Strange or any other sorcerer we've seen in the MCU. He just does it, and it happens
@@Outlawbyname Well if it's an exact copy at a molecular level, then surely the power contained within his cells would be duplicated too, right?
@gavindinsmoor8196 Loki specifically says that they're mirrors of him, so I'd assume they must always look like the original. Any change to the original is mirrored, down to the molecular level. The downside being that they can't do anything the original isn't doing.
Kinda separates the projections from his illusions. The projections are solid and can't be told apart from the original at all, but always look like the original. The illusions can look however Loki wants, but they're not solid.
The ‘cyclist’ Loki, and ‘Frost’ Loki images are literally just Tom behind the scenes of The Dark World and Ragnarok! 😆
What makes you say that?
@kbraven7007 I can't say this for certain, but I'm assuming he's *literally* watched the behind the scenes footage for those movies and saw them there.
They were released a few months before darkworld and ragnsrok came out
The "Demon" looking one is just Tom before set and tea.
You know what's funny? there's a Loki variant, I can't remember if it was a movie, tv show, or comic, that shows what would have happened if Odin didn't take Loki, and sadly he's a better person for it.
That version of Loki is king of the frost giants and is a bro who enjoys partying and is friends with Thor.
An illusion cant stab you. A projection can. And so can Loki
"I don't want anybody out there to forget what you are, a cosmic MISTAKE."
As the middle child who's in between the eternal anger of the oldest and the snarky comments of the youngest, I felt that
I say the same thing about her and her people because nowadays that's a fact😂🤣
@St-lucifer-96 actually it's the exact opposite of her ppl who are the mistake according to the Bible. Most high hates pink ppl lol
no human being is a mistake. people who accuse others of that have a lot of represeed self hatred.
@@St-lucifer-96 now hang on just a minute 'cause wtf is this
As the youngest, can confirm my remarks are indeed full of snark.
As much as i liked season 2, nothing will beat the overall mystery and episode arcs of season 1, all those weekly breakdowns of who could be behind the TVA and being introduced to it was peak
Season 2 nailed the ending tho, I'll give it that
@@CheekiTiki Indeed. I think the key there was to write a compact script with plenty of character moments and NOT to overstay its welcome. If they wanted to, they could have stretched it out into 12 or even 24 episodes. (Maybe a third season) But no, tight script, good characters and a satisfying end.
The first 2 episodes were really good. Then it introduced the mary sue Loki.
It just grates me that Loki’s superhuman strength is not shown or depicted in this show😮
That bothered me too, but they seem to correct that in season 2, showcasing more of his power, albeit not necessarily his super human strength.
I noticed this before but I assumed the TVA had some way to counteract this like they do with magic. It was mentioned they’ve hauled in titans and vampires before so clearly they have a way to control super strong beings.
Yeah they really nerfed him in Loki. Dude used to be able to take on Thor, I mean what?
@@ThePartisan13 I heard it's because the guy running the Loki project hadn't seen the other movies lol. That said, despite this issue, they really made an amazing show. Season 2 saved it and elevated it. Season 1? It had good concepts but we had the nerf issue you reference and I'll add that he felt like a sidekick in his own show once Sylvie showed up.
He uses his abilities a fair amount when he’s not in the TVA. Inside the TVA however, there’s a security protocol in place that prevents magic users from accessing any of their powers
Basically, an illusion projection simply involves creating a illusion of oneself where duplication projection creates an exact duplicate of oneself
but both are projections
@@SirsasthNigam.They are but I think the ones loki are talking about can interact with things
One is just and image the other has mass is an object.
one is a simple clone jutsu while the other is a shadow clone jutsu
Yes. It is like the difference between Bunshin Ninjutsu (sort of like a hologram), and Kage Bunshin Ninjutsu (exact clone copy with substance that can touch/ be touched physically).
Them making the first Loki on the description looks Like Tsang sung is just amazing
Basically he can make shadowclone jutsu, genjutsu, and transformation jutsu at once on the clone illusion
Man I am seeing the Naruto references everywhere now that I understand them lol
This is more along the lines of Fate's Projection Magecraft.
Ok take a breath....noted 🤫
Haha i love Mobius
Tour de France Loki beat Lance Armstrong's record. 8 tours in a row, disappears for 11 months a year, never rides any other events.
Frost Giant Loki, Cyclist Loki, Hulk Loki, The Mandarin Loki, Viking Loki.
I love his face when he sees the other variants of himself. Even Loki can be surprised sometimes.
just appreciate that he was already "sciencey" before the whole time slipping thing where he learned all of OB's and other guy whose name was victor timely, i was forgetting for a moment and was gonna say "other guy whose name i can't remember" but i remembered while typing the word whose, anyway so he had a scientific understanding of how his magic worked before the time slipping which basically just gave him the knowledge to apply his mind to, i mean it makes sense, asgard combines magic and technology, same as the dark elves and probably other races who are old enough who also use magic, so they clearly know about science, i mean not every asgardian is like loki, thor or odin who all use magic, the rest are probably physically superior to most humans but other then that, that's about it really so to make up for this lack in magical prowess they use magical technology.
yep, im pretty sure at some point someone mentions that loki is genuinely the best at illusion magic. The tangible contracts are almost exclusive to loki in that other people can technically learn it yet hes shown the most extreme uses of it on a routine basis. His clones being the most extreme case in that I believe at one point he had dozens active simulatneously.
I remember that, in the Agent of SHIELD series, Lady Sif got almost all of her memories erased. She was as knowledgeable as a child, yet she was able to effortlessly understand something that, for the time the series was at, was so technologically advanced to be futuristic. She claimed that "Even a child would know that, it's taught in schools at a very young age."
So Asgardians are very much scientifically advanced... S much so, that it's magic.
The Loki who hunt Lokis
Kinda similar to the Kang who hunt Kangs to maintain the multiverse equal
Explaining super powers is tight
I watch a lot of pitch meetings
minor illusion creates a perceivable sound or object. no, my simulacrums are copies of myself that exist in the real world, they're tangible. but you already knew that.
Professor Loki
see, but they actually pruned a loki variant that HAD illusion projecting powers. The retro (old man) loki at the end of time projected all kinds of illusions, and he got pruned by the TVA meaning he was in their databank
Loki is a big threat to khang and so he who remains look for a variant of loki to find the glorious purpose and take the throne of god of multiverse. he who remains afraid of multiverse war so use TVA to prevent and find rightful heir of his throne
B15 evolved so much
“A cosmic mistake” technically OG Loki was due to the fact he was suppose to die as an infant. Odin saved him.
But you have to remember the TVA selectivity removes which timelines they deemed wrong. Therefore the og loki is the "correct" one
except he isn't the TVA's sacred time line Loki. he's a variant. The Loki in the TVA's sacred time line died. Only reason he is there is because he used the infinity stone to "cheat" according to the rules of the TVA. That's why they apprehended him @@bojangles4398
I am so sad that we can’t see him anymore :( personally I never even cared about ironman dying or whatever but Loki was my favorite specially with this series going on
Loki will be always my fave in Marvel no matter what, followed by Iron Man, Capt. Marvel, Black Widow… etc
In D&D terms: projection is illusion, duplication is conjuration.
...right?
Normally, yep! Although a high level Illusionist Wizard can make their illusions real.
also, one is anything the power user can imagine the other is just the power user.
In some D&D editions pure illusionists can use Shadow Magic to add some substance / action + reaction without using another school
@@Baes_Theorem *mostly real
And indeed he is the Loki Prime.
If you tell the smart guy to shut up, you're officially off the team.
Me sees thumbnail: "loki is confirmed terror blade!"
So, Naruto is a Loki variant. Gotcha.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 yeah?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 l guss you have a point🤣
Yes😅😅
0:53 Almost more than any other variant? Sooo there's another person that causes more chaos?
They probably aren't thinking of him, but maybe Kang?
Baldur is turning in grave.. ROFL🤣🤣🤣
0:01 oh yeah good old EAA
Im not even going to bring up the fact that those are just two of the branches of magic i use the most. I know many others.
-Loki probably.
"I dont want anybody out there to forget what you are, a cosmic mistake."
- My asian parents
Oshkosh? Loki must be up at the EAA lol.
With all of those different looking Loki variants, how can people say Tobey and Andrew aren't variants?
They ARE variants, it's proven in No Way Home
@@BenziLZK yes, but there are some that say otherwise. They need to be convinced that Tobey and Andrew are variants, the same type of variants as Sylvie, Boastful Loki, Classic Loki
Technically, in the MCU all people are varients in some form or another. The only character, so far, who is not a varient of some kind, is America Chavez. She is the only version of herself, so, not a varient. Toby and Andrew's Peter Parker, are still versions of Peter Parker, so they are varients. Even if you find the first one in the mutliver, they would still be a varient of some form, because there are other versions. TVA agents can also be non varient given how they exist outside the normal perception of time.
@@yudhazacharias9377 nah anyone who says otherwise is just being awkward. Andrew and Tobey are variants
@@erosion271 yeah, people just underestimate how the smallest decision can be very impactful. Every tiny decision creates another branching universe. Tobey and Andrew's worlds are branches that are way down the tree
didn't know loki was smart.
Illidan is loki variant?
not mere clones, those are shadow clones, a jonin level jutsu o.o
Both Loki and the Liberty Legion's Jack Frost were human-sized Frost Giants, makes you wonder if they are blood related.
he's 1100 years old that's a lot of time to learn
Episode 1 was like a showcase of everything this show could have been, and then it just quickly falls apart into a fatally rushed mess with tons of plot inconsistencies and tropes and disregard for loki's abilities. It tries to finish season 3 in 6 episodes.
Loki English is🥵
💖🐰💯🤩
lol the comments acting like this is clever writing or something when really it’s lazy exposition to explain poorly thought out comic book super powers
basically the difference between clone jutsu and shadow clone jutsu
in Thor Dark World, Loki creat a Thor and will cut his hand. what kind of illusion is that one?
One that obeyed the rules Loki described. It can function as real, excluding personal abilities, as long as Loki wishes it to, including the ability to bleed.
Call it shadow clone Jitsu
Hansel he's so hot rn
So many explanations, let me explain this in a much more simpler way. SHADOW CLONE JUTSU
1:04 Hasanabi Loki
Wait was that a Trevor Loki? Like the fake mandarin from Iron Man 3 is a Loki varient in a dick timeline??
So, duplication casting is essentially the shadow clone jutsu?
Spare cars for other drivers to test is a great idea. The near-impossibility of driver tests in modern F1 has become ridiculous. Why not simply add a car on race weekends when there is all the infrastructure, personnel etc. for them to run?
You're so right Hugh, but this is a clip from the tv series Loki
@@nicolai6257 lol I have no idea how this got here.
Is that hansel
#thanosdidntkillloki
I wonder who would win, loli or itachi
Ah yes loli.
This scene is from season 1 but if you watch season 2 already you would know that loki power are involve with shifting time, reality and illusion by now which is the one most powerful power and even more than the infinity stones right now, loki can do what the man who remain does, delete and create again which i mean the universe, to be honest i don't think anyone could be stronger than this loki by now or i could think of just only one who might but she is too young to be that powerful, the Gor's daughter or in real world chris hamworth's daughter which is "Eternity" herself
Why the hell the video in this show is so dark?! I can't see anything! Won't watch...
im pretty sure "illusions" cant fuck you up physically
Thought this was from season 2. I hate season 1 so much I passed on season 2.
A shame he gets neutered
these films are trash anthony macky is spot on
Such a cheap-looking expensive show!
Exactly. I prefer she-hulk over this
@@ewansonpyrbotYou can't be serious
Disney kind of screwed the CGI department since Phase 4 started 😅
What's looking cheap exactly?
Honestly, CGI is nothing compared to character development and good correlation, which this show has plenty of.
