    Sorry for the many ads in this video! As you all know, I am doing this full time, and I've just put so many hours of work into this video that otherwise it wouldn't be profitable. If you want to support, just head over to my shop or my exclusive content. Maybe you'll find something you really like. Links are in the video description. Apart from that, I really hope that you've enjoyed this video and learned something new!

  • @CheatOnlyDeath
    @CheatOnlyDeath Před 2 lety +7

    Very good video. Helpful and accurate information.
    It's worth adding that compensating for english is further complicated by the equipment and playing conditions.
    If you are not playing on a familiar table with familiar balls and a familiar cue and tip, the adjustments change. Dirty worn balls have more cut-induced throw than new or recently-polished balls, and under some circumstances a thing called skid can occur as well. The cue shaft and the hardness of the tip affects deflection. And the cloth's age, cleanliness, and nap affect swerve. In unfamiliar conditions it can be helpful to fall back to using mostly center ball and medium speed, rely on natural roll and speed control for position, then re-introduce english gradually as you become familiar with the conditions.

  • @razzlemankd

    I'd of been worried about the in off playing this shot at any speed or side so something new I've learned from the Pool master Sharivari 👏👍

  • @chrismechanic6164
    @chrismechanic6164 Před 2 lety +3

    Excellent explanation and demonstration. So often I've played against players who do not have this knowledge and they'll miss a shot like this and walk away from the table scratching their head and sometimes even mumbling under their breath like "I can't believe I missed that shot. I hit it right where I wanted or I hit it dead on. How did that not go in?!"
    Obviously if I'm competing I'm not going to give advice but as far as my pool league teammates go, I often send your videos to them because it explains it better than I can even if were just having a practice session. That way they can watch, study, and go practice on their own. Many of these things I learned over 45 + years of playing but how good could I have possibly been with this kind of information decades ago?Your explanations don't just help someone play better but help a player to better understand why the balls behave the way they do.

    If a new player is going to be self taught as many players were before the internet he just explaineed what would take literally years of information in just minutes. In fact alot of good players would play by feel while not completely understanding the physics. With me growing up a few people could teach you certain things but the main thing id hear is you just got to keep practicing and you would hear that because they themselves didnt know how to explain how they are so good. Great teacher it took me years to learn all that on my own. Looking forward to learning things I still dont!
    Edit: I was given that little red book written by Willie Masconi and was wished the best of luck was about it lol

    I can't thank you enough for this video. I have been a fairly decent amateur pool player over the years, but very often stumbled at certain times while not knowing WHY even though I am well aware of deflection. However, that's where my knowledge ended. Very frustrating to say the least. Your EXCELLENT explanation in this video how CUT and SIDE induced throw, in conjunction with DEFLECTION and cue ball SPEED, have given me an entirely new perspective on exactly why I often miss straightforward simple cut shots. This my friend has frustrated me to no end!!! I believe now that I am armed with this wonderful knowledge you supplied, which I intend to practice until it becomes second nature, will no doubt take my game to another level!!! I have shared this video with several of my friends already. THANK YOU!!!! (also.... I just subscribed 👍)

    Excellent video on this topic. 🙌
    I strongly suspect that cut-induced throw was responsible for a LOT of my inconsistent gameplay back when I used to play Pool regularly.
    The trouble was... I had no idea it was a thing! I was relying on ghost-ball most of the time and scratching my head on occasions where I missed simple shots. 🤦‍♂️
    Thank you SO much for explaining this is such a clear & concise way. 🙏

    Great video, I love your instructions and demonstrations, big fan!!!
    The way I compensate that you did not mention is I almost never shoot at the center of the pocket. I just figure out which way the object ball will be thrown or spin off line and aim at the opposite “horn” of the pocket and the ball will automatically drift towards the center of the pocket. This drastically increases the margin of error giving you a much “wider” pocket to shoot at.

    This is an AWESOME video for 98% of it! At 14m15sec you swerve the CB to demonstrate how tought it is to compensate aiming when elevated. My 2 cents: You DO NOT hit that shot hard at all, you are barely making it back to the rail you were hitting from, so my guess is 55% at most. What you need to understand is that AS LONG AS THERE IS BACKSPIN, there is no curve. You could make your point much better by hitting higher on your CB and it would barely curve, if any, by the time you hit the 1 rail.
    In short: YOU CAN AIM with side spin when elevating without compensating for swerve, as long as there is backspin remaining at contact! There could be a whole video about that, which has never been made yet from what I've seen... :)
    Thanks again for such great content!!!!
