  • In this video, I’ll show you how to replace the front brake pads on your Lotus Elise or Exige. The Lotus brakes are designed to make this a relatively easy job. Installing new brake pads is simple, but brakes are an important safety component of your car so if you aren’t sure about anything you see in this video, please stop and consult a professional. Tools and torque specs below.
Remember I’m not a professional and neither are you. You could get hurt doing this stuff. Sure, I make it look easy, but if you don’t know what you’re doing consult a pro!

Thanks for posting. When you are inserting the new pads and having difficulty compressing the pistons, rather than bleed the system, did you try to open the reservoir to decrease the back pressure. Opening the reservoir cap may allow you to fully compress the piston and allow new pads to be inserted.

That's a good tip and I have done that in the past, though usually when I am also bleeding the brakes already since I have the cap off in those cases. Speaking of which, I need to bleed my brakes again soon! Thanks for watching and for the comment!
