It’s like she never even took any time off. It’s so rare to witness an athlete dominate the way she does, especially in a sport as demanding as gymnastics.
SO rare. anytime she wants it, she has it. she's simply that good. its incredible to witness. among some of the greatest athletes to ever live

I can’t wait to see her at 2024. She’s single handedly changing the sport back to adults and not barely legal children. A true GOAT in more ways than one.

Yeah definitely not single-handedly but still a trail blazer for sure.
She's definitely helping with that in the U.S., but let's not overlook how older gymnasts have actually been the norm in most countries for decades! It's only in the powerhouses where federations burn through youth. A huge part of why federations like the Dutch, the Swiss, and others are known for their incredible artistry and novel elements is that they actually allow their athletes to develop over time and create gymnastics with both artistic beauty and physical intricacy. I love that we're making space for that in the U.S. again, too!

I know it's more fun to see a competition that's more closely contested, but what we're witnessing with Simone is truly historic. Her name will be talked alongside the likes of Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci for decades to come, and it's just a pleasure to witness her at her best! We may as well enjoy watching her whilst we still can!
Yes, she is our Olga and Nadia, of whom I grew up watching as a child and admired so much. Simone simply flies though her performance as if she is casually walking through the park on a Sunday afternoon. She is magnificent and completely flawless in any routine. She is beautiful inside and out. I adore her! 🩷

The choreographer for the US gymnasts (Dominic Zito) is clearly a huge Eurovision fan. He got attention after choreographing Jordyn Wieber's routine to Wild Dances by Ruslana, and the federation has had him choreograph almost all their gymnasts' routines since
MyKayla Skinner also used a different Ruslana song (It's Magical) for her 2019 floor routine!
Her choreography is so much better this year! She seemed more fluid & “into it” than in years past. I can’t wait to see how much better it will get as she refines it 🎉

So proud of this amazing young woman, even watching her gives hope to so many with dreams of accomplishing great things.
Honestly one of the craziest things about this to me is she got married in April and she’s doing this four months later. It took me more than four months to write thank you notes after my wedding and I don’t think I moved from my couch in that time.
Hahaha same!!!! Speaking of which, my nephew got married last July (2022) ... and I STILL haven't received a thank-you note for the gift.😣
So what does getting married have to do with her ability to do her routines? Her husband still does his job. Many still do their jobs after getting married
@@eileenmcdonald1599 most people don’t have an extremely elite, athletically demanding job and most people aren’t the best in their fields. Weddings are a ton of work and exhausting so it takes a lot out of you. To be back throwing the hardest skills that exist four months after a huge, time consuming and physically and emotionally demanding life event is VERY impressive. I went back to work a week after I got married but I was TIRED.
@@kimberlybellefontaine1215 I think at this point, you can let it go. Not everyone finishes their thank you notes, and it’s nothing personal against you. Giving a gift is an act of generosity, and I personally never expect a thank you note in return. Once I give a gift, it’s no longer any of my business.
My thoughts throughout this routine:
1. Oh she casually jogs and throws a full twisting double layout 🤯
2. Okay she is again casually jogging and… and throws a double layout half out third pass?!? 🤯
3. She’s casually jogging again..double layout 4th pass!!?!? 🤯 ☠️
So much power. Unbelievable skill. We are not worthy 😅

Same, this is even harderer than what she did in Rio, but if she is confident with that, I don't want her to do the Triple Double again, only cause it is her skill
No offense to her but clear your mind of who she is and re-watch the performance she still has a long way to go to get to Olympic level

As a huge watcher of Gymnastics (meaning I watch all international competitions), well, out of all the international competitions that happened in 2023, NO female gymnast in the world has come close to several of her scores this year. If the Olympics were on tomorrow then Simone would literally sweep with several gold medals - she would win gold on vault, floor, team, and all around! Also, this competition was her first competition in over 2 years and she still blew her competition out of the water.
@@Bp2024mwuah Olympics are judged on current performance not previous she is 26 that is past her prime and her performance showed it the only thing she had going for her here was most of the other ladies had even worse performances just do a simple search for Olympic gymnastics and watch what you need to see her do

Actually this routine is only 0.1 less difficult than the one she performed in 2021
@@aguti7920actually it’s 0.3 less, since the new CoP allows a 0.2 difficulty bonus for finishing a routine with a dismount rated D or higher
@@EmilyNGymFan maybe i should have explained it more, if there wouldn't be the dismount bonus, this routine only would be 0.1 less difficult than her old one, with bonus it is worth more

Its not necessarily a lack of respect - maybe he has clapped all day long and has a headache, you never know. Or, maybe hrs just not that onto gymnastics, going thete wirh his wife / kids and would rather be anywhere than thete. I don't cate how great a basketballer someone might be, but I'd be extremely unlikely to ever applaud one at a game, simply because basketball just isn't my thing. Besides, is it eallt better he "teaches" his daughter she has to applaud everyone even if she doesn't think something or someone is 'great'?.
He knows that she will take all the medals thats y lol😂

This is "watered down" and still a 6.8 value. 🤯 And...I actually like this better. I would rather Simone have brilliant execution than go for big tricks and passes and bound them out of bounds all the time. This routine here will still beat any other routine in the world.
She's older and better. You can tell her training has helped her be more in control but it's a different intensity now.
Watch out, everyone she's going to rock the place.

She is definitely in the house but when she is able to flip and twist in the air Then she will be back to the real SIMONE!!! This routine is what she lost in Japan. Fear showed up as she said she lost the ability to know if she up or down when twisting in mid air. That is her logo!!! I wish her the best.
