I remember in 1997 and maybe a couple of yrs before in the U S as I was/am in Australia, It was Tool, Korn, Seven Dust and Incubus who were part of the new sound after Grunge had died. (Incubus sounded different initially to what they became later) Smashing Pumpkins was on that list too but were more commercial/radio friendly.
I’ve seen them live 3 times, so fucking good.

Sevendust are what Nu-Metal should've always been about. Having a good time, delivering a high-octane energy show with an explosive punch.

Lajon sings with such emotion, that’s what i like about his music. Definitely an underrated band.
It is criminal how little views this has and how little recognition these guys get. They are all absolute beasts. Morgan's energy is out of this world and he's crushing that kit. Clint and John are genius song writers and innovators of their trade. LJ's vocals are unrivaled and Vinnie is pounding out those killer bass lines. Sevendust fucking rules and are massively underrated.

I think the ultimate insult I've seen so far is 7D opening for Nickelback at a show nearby back in 2002. I got comped tickets and still refused to go and that was during their prime "fuck shit up" days too. Animosity era shows were some of the best performances I've seen of theirs (Lajon lighting up joints on stage etc). God I miss even seeing them live. This being a responsible adult shit sucks heh.

Unfortunately, that's the way it goes in the fucked up world that is the music industry. I agree with you, though, they were so much better than most of their contemporaries in the late 90s/early 2000s. I remember seeing them at the Warped Tour in '97! I remember they did a cover of "Walk." Great show!
I think having a black frontman in a metal band is cool as hell and Lajon has a great voice! One of the better voices in metal.

Seeing this band live is absolutely exhilarating. The 90s ruled.
I remember seeing them at a small venue (Fresno California Fairgrounds) aroun 1998 or 1999 when they opened for Megadeth. The lead singer lit a joint, puffed it, passed it to the crowd, and jumped out and got floated. The whole concert and mosh pit in that little stadium was epic. I'll never forget that, one of the coolest concerts that I've ever been to.
Funny my older brother went to see Megadeth that same tour and he walked in hearing Sevendust set and thought he was at a neo-nazi rally. 🤣

+SWEGTA You kidding? Better late than never. Black was released almost 20 years ago, and changed my life. Sevendust was amazing. They still are, but their recent albums are of varying quality.
Their first, Sevendust, was raw but awesome. Animosity is my favorite, though. I can and do listen to that one all the way through, and it never wanes in quality.

The bowling shirts with flames going down them…you know it’s the 90s!! I remember when the album with this song released, at the record store you could NOT find it anywhere. The row where Sevendust would be was always empty and sold out. It was this way for weeks and months. Crazy because there’s very few other albums I can remember that were that sold out for that long even at popular record shops. Great band!

Brings backs memories of dirt jumping bmx bikes in the woods with our boom box cranked up to these guys.
I saw them live a couple years ago in Denver, his voice, and their show is still just as good today. That is one of baddest motherfuckers in rock and roll.

Im 40 been into Sevendust since i first heard waffle on the radio, seen them live a few times, im a welder and always play music at work and have probably played more sevendust in the past two decades than 99% of people on earth. All i really want to say is considering the full scope of all ive seen in my life up to now, i have to say, Lajon is one of the coolest people ive ever been aware of, fuqn LEGEND!✌️

Sevendust and Coal Chamber were the first "big" concert I ever went to. I was 11-12 and my parents took me. Was 97 or 98. I'd been to shows of local bands in my area but they were the first touring bands I ever saw.
