That old bastard could still do a full days work, and I think the 212 could as well!!! Lmao!!! Cherish these moments working with your dad. I miss my dad a lot!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
It’s good to see the 212 run!! Makes me want to go out and find one! About 5 minutes before the end, I thought this one would really look good with paint and new decals! Then I heard your opinion, we agree!!👍🏼 thanks another great video!!
If the CAT engineers that designed the 212 Grader were still around, they would shake their heads in amazement of the service life you are getting out of that. Some things are timeless and are useful beyond their years.
@@TestECull Meh, not really. Squatch and Senior would not be in the market for a new grader if they didn't have an old one, and that grader really isn't "in service" in any real sense. They're keeping it functioning, because their hobby is keeping antique equipment functioning, and like the man said, this is the fist time they've started it in 2 years. It ain't like they're using it daily, and anyone who had a daily need for a grader wouldn't be using that one.
@@andrewalexander9492 You're hung up on technicalities that do not apply to the company as a whole dude. CAT...or indeed ANY manufacturing company...makes less money when they make more durable goods. You make a road grader that's still able to work in its intended usage 80+ years later you're missing out on repeat sales you'd get if you exploit society's disposable mindset and build them just good enough to last 10-15 years. The CAT engineers of today would say this machine is way way way over-built, and in re-engineering it, would come up with a machine far flimsier and more fragile that has a useful life orders of magnitude shorter.
the grader runs really nice you must have a few of the cat graders. that grader would like really nice all painted up and new glass that would be a whole series of you tube videos in it self keep up the great videos Toby
Same age as my Dad who passed this year. Glad to see that old iron still working, unlike us they can be restored to youth! Enjoy your time working and learning from the prior generation, it's a true treasure!
My Pawpaw used to repair/run graders, crawlers, and other diesel equipment (also spent some time in the mines themselves) for the coal company he used to work for (retired in the early 70's). No wonder he was deaf as a stump. That thing is LOUD!
I'd definitely love to see it get restored as nice as Matt Diesel Creek's grader Christine. It'd be a nice machine ti take to antique equipment shows as well as work occasionally. Thanks for the entertainment.
I think that grader would be awesome as a fully rebuilt, concourse grade resto! Same as you did Senior's red tractor. THAT series of videos had me checking YT everyday watching next installment!
I would love to see this with fresh paint and glass, and cushy comfy black vinyl seat. Diesel Creek's Christine turned out sweet... Patina only goes so far.. This old beauty deserves it👍
Back when they built our golf course they used what were called bull graders they were Allis Chalmers HD6 bulldozers with that kind of a blade on them those guys were good. I was 9 years old and they would let us run them.
Knuckle Buster box rebuild, fuel leak back to sort, steering lean to sort out, proper seat, paint ( right at the end, I ALWAYS watch to the end ). Getting to be quite a list!
This was way cool to watch! Here I thought it was going to be another video with the tumble bug; and then you brought out the big guns--great video with senior at the controls.
Think Senior deserves a big 👏👏👏 he handled the old grader like a pro 💪 that grader would be a mammoth restoration project 🤔 my thing in old equipment is original patina 👌 but that restoration would make a helluva series 👍👍
He said, “ I’m going to paint this one”
Nope. Not gonna happen.
She looks great the way she is.
🤣
Would be a stunning piece with a refurbished. It's worth is personal.
This would be the ultimate rebuild series! Man I’m already addicted to this channel as it is but this would be the next level build IMO.
on the list lol
I'm with ya. 👍
Can you imagine it in fresh paint!? It’s not worth it but it would be a looker
I marvel at Senior every time I see him. You are so fortunate to be able to share this work with him.
That old bastard could still do a full days work, and I think the 212 could as well!!! Lmao!!! Cherish these moments working with your dad. I miss my dad a lot!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
It’s just great to see how these 2 folks work together. Senior knows his way around a grader, too!
You're blessed to be working with your Dad. My father died in 2015... I'd do just about anything for 5 more minutes. Don't take it for granted.
It’s good to see the 212 run!! Makes me want to go out and find one! About 5 minutes before the end, I thought this one would really look good with paint and new decals! Then I heard your opinion, we agree!!👍🏼 thanks another great video!!

I wish I could say the same for myself!
And today's CAT engineers would shake their heads at that long service life because it means a new machine isn't being sold...

Also shake their heads at what the modern day engeneries have done with cat of today

There's always that one kid who brings all the cool toys to the sandbox.
I like that, " I think id paint it" "yehh well you have at it" always great videos.... Cheers.
Glad to see you and Senior out there having fun with vintage machinery. Thanks for the video, we enjoyed watching! 🇺🇲🚜👍
Nice old grader, keep getting told I need a grader after my efforts with the dozer on my access road. 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺
If you got to overhaul that grader that is definitely a series I would watch!
Same age as my Dad who passed this year. Glad to see that old iron still working, unlike us they can be restored to youth! Enjoy your time working and learning from the prior generation, it's a true treasure!
It was great to see Sr! He done a fine job. And I think that grader looks great as is.
There is something very relaxing about watching that cool old grader.
It is such a pleasure to see you work with your dad. Sure miss mine.
Hey just seeing the Road Patrol out and running is great. Glad senior is out keeping busy. Thank you. Paint not needed. :)
Did you say paint?
Yes, I followed to the end
The way you guys restore equipment that 212 ought to look factory fresh in no time. Good stuff.
That ole girl sounds sweet. I'd like to see one of the current machines as old as she is still working as good. ....Mike
The longer it ran, the better it ran. After it was good and warm there was hardly and smoke. Just the normal diesel smoke. What a machine!
It would look good painted up and pretty 😍 but that endeavor sounds like your on your own 🤔🤔😊🌎🌞👍👍👍👍
WoW!!!
Who else loves those rear tires!

Great video of Senior cutting a grade. Hope you two do another project where we get to witness Senior’s skills as a mechanic. He sure know his stuff.
Wait, it already has paint, and looks mighty fine. Thx for sharing Senior with us today.
I think that grader would be awesome as a fully rebuilt, concourse grade resto! Same as you did Senior's red tractor. THAT series of videos had me checking YT everyday watching next installment!
That's a fine, old motor patrol. Only about 75 years old and will still do a good day's work. Hope I can say the same thing at that age.
Looks like a great rebuild project!
Nice grader. senior needs to come over Michigan and show our county workers how to run a grader. Lol
I would love to see this with fresh paint and glass, and cushy comfy black vinyl seat. Diesel Creek's Christine turned out sweet... Patina only goes so far.. This old beauty deserves it👍
No hydraulics no electronics....... No problems!!! 😁
Cheers from Portugual.

Damn those fords are nice tractors
i always liked the old stuff.
For such an old and rusty beast, it does run well.
You can sure tell when the operator knows what they are doing! Nice work Senior.
Good to see Sr. on the grade, he did a good job. For a machine that is 74 years old it does darn good. They built them to last back then.
Throw tape down the middle… Full resto with paint on one side, mechanical resto with patina on the other side. Everyone is happy 😉🤣
We were born the same year. Both of use look battered, but I don't work the same. I hope you do her up and make me envious.
Must be great working alongside your father. The shared love of old iron shines through.
As a person born in 1946… I vote to respect it long history of gathering ‘patina’ by leaving the ‘look’ as we see it. Well done you two.
Love that grader, it would be grate to see a rebuild of that knuckle buster box some day.... you know, before that paint you mentioned at the end lol
I'd love to see what's inside there as well.
A little too much "patina" on that one. Paint it up! Is there a knuckle buster box rebuild in the channels future? Really curious what's inside.
Good to see you have it out exercising it! Thanks for sharing
Love the look of it as it is with the new/repaired bits painted. Contrast looks great and it's a record of the maintenance.
I would love to see it all painted and new decals!
Great to see the 212 working again! There's just something satisfying about moving dirt.
Great to see the old machine at work!
Toby and Sr. It’s nice to see dad and son playing in the dirt together. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic video! Thanks!
I just love seeing that old grader cutting the mustard, great video, thanks
Thanks for sharing that’s exactly what that ole machine needed was a good little workout after sitting for a few years lol
for its age that works bloody amazing
Just love seeing and hearing that old iron working and chugging around.............You guys have the best toys!!!!!!
You know I'd be watching start to finish
Boys and their toys. Can't believe Senior wasn't using the back up camera. 👍
I enjoy watching old American Iron at work. Thanks for sharing.
Yes paint it would love to see that series
This is such a neat machine.
Can't wait for this one to get some paint and a little TLC!
Man! The never ending stream of super cool big boy toys you guys have makes me green with envy!
That grader is an awesome old machine! Worth it's weight in gold in it's day, as well as today! It looks like a rat rod - but a real practical one! 🙂
Sweet running grader
Looks like you had her running nice and clean towards the end of the video....nice!
This was way cool to watch! Here I thought it was going to be another video with the tumble bug; and then you brought out the big guns--great video with senior at the controls.
Good to see both them old timers working 👍
76 years, that's amazing.
Totally cool machine and still working after nearly a century. Talk about a great ride on cruise night! Best to you and Senior.
She is two years older than I. I make funny notices also.
Love to see senior at controls of any machine.
That's some luxury there electrical start on the pony motor
You and your dad should restore it and push snow with it good video
Ah, finally, the two-twelve runs!
Yes, my vote is Thumbs up for an original color re-paint on this great old Grader.
I agree with previous comments: What a great restoration project!
What an awesome relic!😎👍
Yeah that old beast deserves some paint! Engine sounds strong!
You should restore her to factory new, and bring back to her glory; post WW2 Era. "Thanks for the vedios, much appreciated!
good subject for full restoration would look nice with a full yellow coat
Paint or no paint she is definitely worth a rebuilt to restore.
It's great seeing the old girl in action!
Dont paint'er Squatch...love the time earned patina, and the thumbs up on the posi-traction wheel spin lol!
New Distressed paint job like 1113. Great video as always.
yah that would be one heck of a restoration 75 years of age I'd go for it !! The Machine 75 Years !!
Excellent demo of the merits of a pony motor!
Cool old grader, it's 2 years older than I am. I take almost as long to get started in the morning too!
I believe Senior has seen that done before, and that's a good little grader for what you do...good to see out
Really enjoyed your video 😊😊
I just love watching the old equipment doing what they're suppose to be doing.
Sweet old piece of iron.
Not to many of us left than can run a knuckle buster any more....Sr is an ace at it.....
Yes! Paint it!😊
Great job Squatch Senior!
How cool is that thing. Little paint would be nice but you don’t need that. LOL
Think Senior deserves a big 👏👏👏 he handled the old grader like a pro 💪 that grader would be a mammoth restoration project 🤔 my thing in old equipment is original patina 👌 but that restoration would make a helluva series 👍👍
Love all the old cats yea she would look pretty smick with a new paint job
Great to see Senior on the old 8N!
