- In this video we will be taking a look at all the iPhones and parts i brought off eBay for a total of $81. I will testing all the iPhones and be trying to get some of them working.

UPDATE: 19/7/18
Two of the logic boards included that both didn't detect a battery, I managed to get them both to turn on using an iPad charger.
1. 64GB iPhone 4s running IOS 7.0.3 iCloud: OFF
2. 16GB iPhone 4s running IOS 7.1.1 iCloud: ON but no passcode.
UPDATE 12/8/18
1. I cleaned the water damaged iPhone 5 with FMI OFF using isopropyl alcohol. It now powers on and was running IOS 10.1.1 but was passcode locked so has now been updated to IOS 10.3.3. The LCD connector is damaged but I was able to set up the iPhone using quicktime player as a screen for the iPhone.
2. All the iPhone 4s have ether been unlocked or downgraded to IOS 6.1.3 and bypassed. (not including the passcode lock one IOS 7.1 16GB or the 16GB white 4s that I had contact with owner, they forgot their password and are getting it reset or the IOS 8.0.1 32GB 4s that says connect to iTunes
UPDATE 25/12/21
1. Over the last few years, a few of the iPhone 5 phones in this lot a few have become unlocked from their last owners removing them from their account. These phones where fixed and sold.

ask Siri who owns the device for one. If the phone hasnt been dead or if it hasnt been turned off fully then it you can ask siri to call e.g. Mum or Dad

Hey I bought an iPhone 5 on ebay. There was no description and when I got it, it turns on with a charger, its on iOS 8.3 and it has an icloud. No passcode. I tried to contact the owner and he says that he wants the phone back because that phone still had his pictures and stuff he says which I did not look at. I sent the phone back unfortunately, really wanted to keep that phone.😫😫

Dear Hugh Jefferys,
The Iphone with the weird activation lock is what happens when the previous user forgot the passcode 10 times and had the feature of when the passcode is reset after you guess 10 times. I found this out after one of my friends had a 5c with a restrictions passcode and I tried out this method and it worked. Your videos have inspired me to work on iphones. Thanks.

How do you always manage to get in touch with the previous owners of the phones?
I think if he had the Apple ID it is a email address he would send them an email
Contacts in the phone, or if there is a SIM card in the phone, although I'm a bit more confused about that second technique.

If the phone has a medical ID, there can be contact info there, or if it connects to iTunes
@@Poire33 He can place it inside of another phone and see the number that comes up for it, then give that number a call. Granted it’ll most likely be deactivated and be useless otherwise, but the number will still show up regardless

I Have an iphone 4 CDMA too. But i live in Italy and i can't use phone calls/SMS. There is a method For making he can at least call? I heard CDMA network have a compatibility with europe 2g network.(not 3g/4g ) but still userful

that ipod touch... i had the same one back in the day, it took a trip in the washing machine (forgot to check pockets) i put it in rice and forgot about it for 6 months, found it and it had the same backlight issue... i shelved it and found it when i moved house a few years later... the backlight had come back to life. props to apple for a device that can go in a washing machine, get filled with detergent and still work after (granted long after) but still...

Original seller must have given up on repairing them.
If you have a pile of rubbish and can sell it on eBay, $80 is $80.
If someone like Hugh can convert that $80 worth of rubbish to a handful of working phones, and even return some “Lost” phones to their owners, everybody wins.

I didn't pay much attention to it until touch id stopped working but my home button was still working 2 days later my home button stopped working! Do you know what I should do? zakria butt damaged ribbon cable more than likely. The buttons loose and probably wiggled around and damaged the Touch ID component

I got 2 "broken" 4s some time ago. Just opened up and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and then removing the password. Now they are working and looking like brand new.

iphone 4s on ios6- is not so big deal, i have one. assembled from different parts, but all original and looks like brand new (battery with ~300 cycles too). motherboard has 9.3.5 version, when i've bought it, but 4s and ipad2 is easy to reflash on ios6

If you remove a screw hole on the right side of a 4s screen, it will fit the cdma and one screw won’t be used

I was wondering, if I have an iPhone 8 that is iCloud locked and I have the original owners phone number, how should I go about trying to get them to remove the phone off of their account, because I doubt that they will just do it easily. I know that you have some experience with getting people to remove phones off of their accounts and so I figured I would ask you.
May I ask how you bypassed the iCloud lock on the iPhone 4 that had no email on the activation screen? My old 4 does the exact same thing after it had been sitting a long time and I’d love to be able to get back into it.

Hey Hugh I wanted to tell you something I noticed. When I downgraded my iPad 2 to ios6 I didn’t have to log into iCloud to unlock my iCloud lock. I don’t think the activation lock existed then. Try downgrading to iOS 6 then activating the iPhones.

On older iphones if u jailbreak it u can get an app in cydia that will let u go into the files on the phone and delete the icloud account

How do you remove the icloud lock? I'm also repairing phones and got ripped off multiple times with iphones which where icloud locked after repairing them... only way i know is to remove the memory and change the serial number.
Nice video. I got a trick when I have iPhones that if you know the passcode to the device it lets you change the password of the iCloud. Sometimes works sometimes doesn’t
