look man, about the flares, u said that you would be upset if you brought your kid to the game and a random guy that is next to you lit a flare up. In Europe the Ultras are usually separated from the casual fans, so that kind of problem only happens if you are dumb enough to get tickets to the Ultra's zone and don't want to be there

In the USA, sport is seen as an entertainment like going to the movies or the Zoo.. In europe, its passion. You follow your team your whole life, cause stuff like franchise teams, who move away after 5 years are almost nonexistent! Most Football (soccer) clubs are over 100 years old. Some big basketball clubs are also that old! That means you are a part of the clubs history yourself and its a part of your own life as well! OH, and dont bring your 6year old to that stand. go to the family section!

about the whole "Tv schedule" here in Europe, the tv stations have to follow the game, not the other way round.
Meaning that sometimes the show/movie that runs after the game will runn at 10, or 10:15 or whatever time the game ends.

Europe jas a long history of supporter culture. The atmosphere is created by the fans. In the US, the atmosphere is created by the music that is playing and whatnot, it's all a show. The difference between a european sporting event and an american one is like you going out with your friends and having fun vs. going out to the movies. In Europe, the fans create the fun where as in the US you get served up a piece of entertainment.

For Europe the 1st and 3rd clip were from Greece and the 2nd clip was from Serbia. These are football fans that support their teams no matter what sport they're playing. I've seen crowd like that even in a women's water polo game. But this is most common in Southern Europe (Spain, Italy, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, etc) not really in the north.

In US teams are organizations, businesses. Fans go to watch to be entertained and they can just switch teams like nothing happened (Like Seattle Seahawks to OKC). In Europe teams are related to the local people very well for decades.

I love it how Aris Thessaloniki straight up shows America what true sports fans are.
Before the question arises why there are so many fans and it looks so wild and still the US wins every World Cup or Olympic Gold in Basketball.
Let me explain that nearly every clip of the European basketball fans is basically from the soccer fans because there soccer club also has a basketball team and if there is a rival match comming, they dont care if its soccer or basketball. They will come and go crazy just to show the support of the team/city.
Thats like when there would be a New England Patriots Team in Football , Basketball, Baseball. If you are a fan of one. You would cheer for the others automatically even if the sport isnt your favorite to watch or play.

I don't know how it is in america but in europe people go to the stadium to give all they have for their team. no matter how the match is going they will party and chear for them as loud as they can. and of the ultras and other fangroups spent a lot of time to organize their performances. their teams are their lives. and I think their is no difference between basketball fans or football/soccer fans or ice hockey fans or any other in europe. they all give 100% for their club

not true. if you recognize most of the professional and college games the crowds all wearing the same color / jersey. each stadium is huge and one teams fans take up the pretty much the whole thing. if it was "hot dogs and dancing" they wouldn't all wear the same colors to support their team. it'd just be random

The second is from a Eurolague match of Red Star Belgrade vs CSKA Moscow and the third, again from a Eurolague match of Panathinaikos Athens vs Barcelona. So Greece and Serbia fans in this video.
9:35,stadiums are not the safest place for a 6 year old.Some times,when 2 "eternal enemies" are playing,it's equally unsafe for adults.The fans you are seeing are organised so they can "perform" during the game and they always standing behind the baskets.You don't want to seat there.You choose a seat somewhere near the middle.

Yeah i am European and the Atmospheres are great, i ve been in one of the clubs in the video, but there is the bad side of all that Racism,drugs, violence and even death, it devides the people.

The papers come from the so called ultras fans(the ones at the corner of the court most of the time), and they hide them in stacks inside the rolled up plethora of banners and sneak them in. Before the game starts, they throw them around the stadium and fans all know what's coming at the start. Also the matches are televised and the court is on fire for the most part if not the whole game. They are in sync cause most fans know the chants. Also local rivalry matches are 10x more fiery as a rule!
This is what Europe and older countries hold on to, it's raw love, passion, excitement regardless of whether it's sport or whatever... This is what America shuns because it's considered dangerous and non conformist, everything there is watered down and subdued.
I'd feel safer here with my kids than America any day. From England 🏴
