- This is the electronic press kit that was made to promote Geddy Lee's My Favorite Headache album in 2000. I'm trying as hard as I can not to upload stuff that's already on youtube but in this case I just realized that the copy that's already up is in a much lower resolution compared to the one I have. So, enjoy!

This album helped me through the darkest time in my life when my mom passed away. Geddy is my hero and has done more for my life than he will ever know.
Rush has helped me through dark times. I sometimes had day when hope was lost ( divorce with two boys) and Rush got me through it. Years have passed and life is much better.
Geddy and rush have a way of doing that. I'm happy to hear he helped you at that tine
Sexton's know their music
Yes I know how it feels I lost my mom my girlfriend my dad and a million Buddies but I had to stay alive to wait for the next Rush album so they kept me alive God bless you and keep on rocking
❤❤
This album revealed how much of the rush songs have Geddy's stamp.
No question. Good insight.
@@DrJ-hx7wv he is the composer of almost every Rush song along with Lifeson, I think it's normal
This album is incredibly underrated. "Runaway Train" is one of the greatest songs that Geddy Lee has ever been associated with.
Man, why didn’t Geddy make more solo albums? This album is phenomenal.
Honestly these days I like it better than most Rush albums.
underrated album, made during a dark period for the band and uncertain futures..
Matt Cameron is such a badass. His playing was just so unexpected and fresh on this. Like he just got a general idea of the arrangement and just did it, next. Such a premier player.
Granted I'm a huge RUSH fan, but even if Geddy wasn't in RUSH this would still be one of my all time fave albums. LOVE playing this stuff on the drums. Would've been cool to see him do a small tour for this album.
drum1805 he was about to, then Neil wanted to go back to work.
There's talk of a solo tour sooner or later, he's exploring his options at least that's what I've heard.
I will be buying this album now. Thanks!
I think we'll see a new Geddy Lee solo album. He can't sit still, this guy.
Yes, I agree. The guy is in fantastic physical and metal shape, no arthritis, no aches and pains like the other guys. He wants to continue to record and play music and he's full of musical ideas I'm sure. Just hope the right opportunity comes around and he's able to put his music out there over and over again.
You
pretty sure there are some rock bands out there that would like to have him as bass player...I guess
Yup. Especially with Rush being done, I think we’ll see something sooner than later.
Sanson101 ya, like the great Geddy Lee is going to hire out as a "bass player" the guy is a literal phenomenon within the world of music!!! Please!! The man literally wrote the book on heavy rock music bass playing, as well as set the standard for live on stage multiple instrument playing. Not even to address singing, other than Robert Plant, or maybe David Surkamp (Pavlov's Dog, for the uninitiated) that can ever touch him!!!
Geddy had a website for this LP, on it he had a contest, he answered 35 questions, mine was one. I was sent a VHS copy of this.
Tom Marsh Same here; he answered one of my questions and I was sent this on VHS. Now EVERYONE has it, eh?
Geddy's Interactive Headache if I'm not mistaken, I was on the forum. Figured it was closest we were gonna get to a Rush album back when I thought the band was never gonna get back together. For a short period the local rock stations were even playing Grace to Grace.
Is the site still up? I’d love to read the Q&A!
I met Geddy in Nov2000 at a meet&greet in MenloPark,NJ for this CD.best day of my life
I meet Geddy in Buenos Aires in Octover 2010, meet&greet too, of Time Machine Tour. I feel same like you. Regards, from Argentina.
Same thing. Best Buy in Brookpark, OH
Olá Geddy Lee é um cara alto?
Such a classic, *underrated* album. This behind the scenes vid is a treasure.
I particularly like the song "Grace to Grace".
myself as well, absolutely. kinda sad song . . .
My favourite too!
Was about his mother's experiences in the Concentration Camps
The impetus for this solo record was Rush being on a several-year hiatus due to NP's life issues and the time he needed to heal from them. It's an excellent album.
I really love this album, it’s very RUSH like even though it’s only Geddy. RIP Neil.
I bought this CD when it came out and it's one of my favorites
This guy here.... he's my hero... and I don't share my hero with no one
so he's like Nobodys Hero?
@ alanboro you've been out commented by Rhys B big time, you were his straightman .
Except all of CZcams...😂
Geddy is so entertaining and he doesn't even know it.
I ready for another Geddy solo project 😎
You can tell how much of Geddy's growth period here spilled into Rush's 21st century sound. More groove, more vocal harmonies, more of that gorgeous, orchestral approach to those more tender moments of the music. Very important record and so underrated.
This album is an absolute MASTERPIECE!
Best band Rush
Best bassist Geddy
The Professor on Drums
And one wicked lead guitar Alex!!!!
Wouldn't it of been wicked if Rik Emmet and Alex Lifeson could flip bands back n forth thru the years.Wow.
Mind blown.
Awesome solo LP Geddy Lee 👍🙌
favorite two songs on this....grace to grace and runaway train.
I still think this is one of the greatest albums of all time. As a bass player, this is a holy grail album.
It sure got my stamp of approval..
Besides being a brilliant musician, he is a. Very real - compassionate person.
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This was a very different album than anything Rush ever put out. I think Geddy himself nails the reason at about 06:40. Rush uses the kitchen sink. Neil plays it.
Thanks for the nice comment, glad you enjoyed it!
Fond memories of listening to this album in college. I bought the CD within days of it's release and listened to it while doing programming assignments for classes. Great fun!
Geddy is a groove-machine!
Great CD..Great songs! Geddy lee of course !!!
I had a pretty decent car stereo when Clockwork Angels came out and I was thrilled by the presence of that friggin bass sound. Stunning. Brings the adrenaline immediately to my brain. Or something. I’m not a scientist.
Rush , Triumph and April Wine forever!!!!
I was hoping for a tour with this project and I love Geddy in this relaxed form, you can see something real about him here. Runaway Train -great song. Present tense -great song. Great album period!
This is great! Never seen this before. Loved this album since it came out.
on container wars, the auctioneer called the longhair 'geddy lee' during the Macedonian bidding process
Very cool. I had never seen this before. I actually forgot it existed. I remember hearing people talking about the press kits, but I never had the opportunity to see it.
I played this CD until I scratched it up. I was so pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it. I still do. I was hoping GL would be opening act to the Rush tour that followed. I guess it was R30...right? I would've died!!!
This album is dripping with strong melodies if you listen to it twice it’s addictive almost like signals
I absolutely love soundchecks, and isolated tracks. (like no guitar so I can see how bad I really am covering some of these crazy azz riffs, and sounds, gotta have feedback for alot of sounds he makes, Alex Ziv. rocks
I like how Geddy goes all out to emphasize that grainy old granny lady look.
Geddy did an awful lot of press for this album (a whole lot of which you can see on my channel) and I think if Neil hadn't wanted to rejoin Rush shortly after this album's release Geddy may have done some limited touring for it. It would have been interesting, but I'm happier that Neil came back. Thanks for the comment!
This is a totally awesome find, great post
I like this album a lot and, whilst not Rush, it's pretty damn good
It was a hiatus for the band and both Geddy and Alex released 'solo' albums
Rush best ever but talent is talent and Ged rocks that base - the riff on the title track is simply wonderful
Thanks
i love Moving to Bohemia. Such a great song
Ben Mink plays violin on the Rush song "Losing It". He shreds that thing.
I so love this album. Window To The World, Grace To Grace, Still and The Present Tense are amazing, along with all the other songs.
This shit is fuckin nuts. Love this album!!
OMG I want those Ricks on the wall O_O !
I really like this ALBUM - along with Alex Lifeson's VICTOR
I've been listening to Ben Mink for almost thirty years
He played some killer electric violin on "Losing It" and he also was heavily involved with k. d. lang's career.
The writing is very good.
CHECK OUT THE RUSH R40 TOUR and SNAKES & ARROWS TOUR WEBISODES!!

I love this album and it's cool to see a video about the recording and making of it!!
9:02 ben mink does a great alex lifeson impression!
Such a great, great record! Still on active rotation in my house.
Here because I'm here. And Geddy.
I’ve never seen this or even knew it was out! And lately I’ve been listening to My Favourite Headache a LOT.
very cool ! thanks so much for posting this, I had never seen this! now I"m gonna go listen to the album again
the bottom end punch of that bass is amazing 4:05.
Fantastic....
This album really shows how important Geddy was to Rush. Each track on this album is brilliantly written, my favorite being Grace To Grace. I think this album is almost like a rush album, but twisted in a way where Geddy is mainly speaking to you musically and lyrically. Absolutely love this album, it’s so underrated and I definitely recommend every Rush fan or any fan of Geddy to at least listen to this once and give it shot.
Damn never knew it was Matt on drums, hes such a badass drummer, really need to get this album now!
Michael Osztertag Matt was on some tracks, not all, but i agree!
Yes, Matt and the other drummers on this album do a GREAT job!!! Always have liked this album...A lot of great moments throughout:)
My Favorite Headache is just as good as any Rush album.
An absolute masterpiece.
Great album, very listenable.
That last quip by Geddy was good.
phenomenal!
doop doop de doo doo
Geddy does a pretty good "Scortish Accent"!! 😉🏴
My Favorite Headache is so good, I sometimes catch myself thinking that it's the Rush album we never got between 1996 and 2002.
This was real interesting!!! Thanks for posting!!!
Always on the hunt for all things Rush! Subscribed to be sure not to miss what you put up next....
This was awesome!
I won this EPK when the album was released. Still have it.
Geddy's solo album is absolutely FANTASTIC! I did not know what to expect. I hoped that it was not simply another RUSH album but was still melodic and rockin' with great melodies and hooks. It is ALL of that and I was NOT disappointed. "My Favorite Headache" is an excellent album. If I recall correctly, the title refers to a conversation that Geddy was having with a man that had been married a very long time. When asked how he felt about his wife, he said something like: "Well, I do love her dearly, but sometimes she drives me crazy. She is my favorite headache!"
I wish that I could heap the same praise on Alex's solo effort, but I just cannot. "Victor" is noisy and angry and mean-spirited. I did not like listening to it AT ALL and was sorely disappointed.
Time to rummage through the old basement CD's and give Geddy's songs a listen too again!
I love this album and would really like to see him make another.
xxxx15us... I always love all the stuff you share out here. Thx! -aye?
Wow, you found it quickly, I only put it up a few minutes ago! Glad you liked it. I'm about to put up a lot more stuff and improve and re-edit a bunch of Rush stuff on my channel.
I was so happy to have it as a bridge between 'Test for Echo' and 'Vapor Trails' while Neil was recovering from his tragic loss of both his DAUGHTER, and then a few months later his WIFE, and Rush's future was in doubt. Geddy was getting ready to tour this solo effort when Neil got in touch with him and Alex to say he was ready to return, and Geddy put RUSH ahead of his own Album!
"Geddy was getting ready to tour this solo effort" Can we get a source on this?
Love this album! This album and Alex Lifeson's album "Victor" are ones that fly under the radar, unless you're into Rush! My favorite track is "Slipped".
Great album.
Ben Mink does sound like Geddy Lee on guitar
As my friend said, “ the best Rush album never released !”
Fan of all things RUSH since 1978.
Beyond the music, it’s been nice getting to know the Three Kings’ personalities by drips and dribbles over the decades.
Their intellect, great humor (especially Al and Ged together), refreshing humility whilst being so great, sharing the tragedies, albeit obliquely and from a distance and their sincere gratitude to us their loyal fans to be able to be Alex, Geddy and Neil RIP!
Thank YOU, Gentlemen!
If there's ever a higher quality version, I'd love to see it :)
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
To a me he's a captain, but to a captain, he's not captain. LOL
Love this album.
Great upload!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
Matt Cameron?!
This is great!
The strings maybe a lot, but I can't wait to listen to the whole thing.
So odd to hear Geddy singing in first person about literal things:))
geddy's emo stage
I need to pull out this CD from my vault for another spin. I liked it better than Alex's solo project. It was much more accessible.
nov20five thought so as well, more accessible, but after all those years Victor is far superior... superb guitar, creativity and pushing boundaries... give it another try, you might be surprised
REALLY want to see a VINYL RELEASE of this AMAZING RECORD !!!
Happy to share, more stuff is coming!
Slipping is still my fave
Professor Lee is actually the music teacher at Hogwarts..Has been for a long time... Let that soak in....
Great album! Victor, no so much
That’s when trouble began 😎❤️
I love it
I've always loved the fav.headache, although a couple of songs drag, that's to be expected, maybe others like those songs I don't.just 2 or 3 ..then rocks out! (overall, and towards end ,,,,also love the album cover of Headache......
Cool to hear, hope you enjoy!
