I have one myself. It's a wonderful machine! It put up with me learning how to use it, because it was my first sewing machine, and works wonderfully! We've been together for a couple of years now, it works wonderfully!

Nicole Louis It's a very good machine!!!, You're going to be very happy with it. It was patient enough to help me as a new sewer, its handling and use is very intuitive, and there are a lot of tutorials too, which is very helpful! Congratulations on your choice!
As a newbie...be sure to have the needle up out of the fabric before changing stitches or the needle position. Trying to make changes when the needle is down will damage the needle position feature.
Myra Thomas That is so true. I've had my 4423 for about two years now, zero problems. And it is a very good advice the one you gave!
My sister has had her 4423 about 8 years now and it's been great. I have a 4411 and I like it very much.

Was all the sewing on the leather done with the standard needle that comes with the machine? Also, is the machine capable of using a thicker thread as used in marine upholstery??

Would love to see this tested with 12 layers of denim. Looking at the majority of jeans I own, simply to rehem is 12 layers - 4 layers at flat fell seam, folded over itself twice (triple thickness) at hem. Hemming a pair of jeans seems a pretty basic alteration. Will this machine handle it reliably??

How many hours we can stitch continuously with this machine? Does it get heated up, on continuous operation? Please advise.
Does this have the needle down option. I have a singer "brilliance" believe it's called. Which I acquired from my late mother. I don't sew often but it drives me nuts that the stitch always stops with the needle up. Always rolling it back down.

Aj M you’ll want a leather sewing machine- lots of brands that make good machines for that, you’ll just have to shop around for what you need.

Yo tengo esta máquina pero tengo problema con la bobina se ahora mucho y no puedo coser , pueden ayudarme ??
Hola a mi tambien se me enreda pero no me complica mucho el trabajo. Cuando pasa eso, abro la tapita y con el dedo le empujo el hilo para que continue el camino y listo. Si se me enreda mucho y traba ya ahi tengo que cortar el hilo, enhebrar bobina y aguja desde cero y fijarme la tension que estoy usando.
do you need different needles and thread to sew on leather and denim, etc.
You don't NEED different needles and thread but it looks much better with thicker thread on denim. For thicker thread you need denim needles.
Pretty nice video overall but would have liked to hear the machine running and that color glitch effect was triggered my epilepsy (kidding).

Con la esperanza de que respondas a un comment de hace un año. La estoy pensando comprar para mi madre pero otros videos dicen que para cosas como mezclilla o piel no es recomendada. Que si suena la máquina forzada es por qué no debería de usarse con eso. La mezclilla que usan en este video se ve muy delgada en comparación a un pantalón. Si te funcionó o al final si la cambiaste por otra?
@@Ixtohzk Hola sí me funcionó tienes que comprar una aguja para coser mezclilla las venden en la misma singer,pero también cómprale un pie de teflón para que cosa mejor, precisamente ayer cosí varios pantalones la bastilla

Revisa la tensión en los discos y el grosor de la tela. Cuando se enreda mucho "por debajo" es que le hace falta tensión

Renee` Hill My Singer 4423D broke after literally 5 months :( I would definitely not recommend this machine for people who plan on sewing more than 5 days in the week. Yes it worked like a gem in those 5 months, but I would definitely switch to a more industrial machine if your working on larger projects, denim, etc.
