The Aaronic blessing, also known as the Priestly Blessing, is found in the Bible in Numbers 6:24-26. Here it is:
> The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
> The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
> The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
The blessing is called the Aaronic Blessing because it was given by God to Moses with instructions that Aaron, the brother of Moses, and his sons, who were the priests, were to pronounce this blessing over the people of Israel. Aaron was the first high priest of the Israelites, and his descendants continued the priestly duties, making it the "Aaronic" or priestly blessing. The specific instructions for this blessing are found in Numbers 6:22-23, where the Lord commands Moses:
