also, you're supposed to have the vege/marmite on toast with butter. just use a minimal amount of the spread otherwise it's too overpowering unless you like it that way. everyone has theirs differently. it's also good when you're making a gravy, it gives a good salty taste and darkens the colour

I was likening it to salt or soy sauce. These people should have tried to eat the food how it was meant to be enjoyed. I like marmite but i would never eat a giant scoop of it like they did. I wonder if they did any research at all before making this video

As for the video, I'm still not certain whether they are trying to portray Americans as stupid or simply ignorant. Either way, I think the show would be improved by some people coming in who were already familiar with the food.
Since they all dissed Australian food, they all deserved their reactions to Vegemite.

Milo is great, we have a similar product called Ovaltine that's pretty close to it in the states. It's not nearly as popular as it used to be.

Like they know they do not eat this everyday it was the first time they probably ever tasted it it was not like they had someone to explain to them how to eat it.
Everyone has heard of Vegemite around the world and the tales of how salty it is and disgusting it smells. Yet Americans are the only people that don't seem to learn that it is meant to spread super thinly over buttered toast. I'm an Aussie and personally I can't stomach it, the smell of my kids putting it on their toast is enough to turn my stomach. That being said though, the kids love it so much that they put enough on to make their toast look burnt.
There is a good chance they had them eat it with a spoon to get the bigger reaction.

After reading all these comments, I would like to say that I've watched PLENTY of videos of people in other countries trying food from America and they didn't like practically any of it. It doesn't offend us so why would it offend anyone that the people in this video didn't like these products? We grew up liking different things. Food tastes different everywhere. That chocolate drink for instance, we grew up drinking different tasting chocolate milk, so it probably tasted bad to them because they're used to the kind we have in America. And for the vegemite, how on earth would any of them know how to eat it? I didn't even know what that was until watching this video, and it isn't like they sat there and did research on all the products and how to eat them. Oh and those chocolate gummies, those just sound really weird because we just eat like fruit gummies, and we are used to just straight up chocolate. I probably wouldn't like those either. I don't understand why everyone is being so rude about this though. People from other countries often say our candy tastes cheap and like chemicals, and yeah it probably does, but I've gotten use to our candy. Those are opinions that could be simply stated as, "oh man I can't believe he didn't like milo, I love that stuff!" You don't have to say hateful comments and criticize our WHOLE country because people didn't enjoy some food. Sorry for the long paragraph, and I didn't mean it rudely, this is just a 16 year olds opinion. :)
Everything they showed in the video tastes like shit, except for the chicken chips, they're nice. One of the guys had timtams in his hand but they didnt show the reaction because timtams are incredible. But the rest are horrendous disgusting shits.

Milo is awesome, Chicos are more an acquired taste, but don't give up after the first one if you do try it, the first one is always wierd tasting, especially if you've had something sweet to eat before it. Our sweets and stuff taste odd to Americans because we use actual cane sugar in our sweets, not HFCS.

You don’t have to eat Vegemite with a spoon! Here’s how you really do it:
1.Get Butter,Toast a knife and Vegemite
2. Put some butter on the Toast
3.Put just A LITTLE BIT like a knife point or a pinch full of vegemite
4. (Bonus) Put some Avocado on it. Believe me, it will taste better.
You need to harden up, real Aussies have a nice thick layer of vegemite. You sound like a foreigner who hasn't developed the taste for it yet.

It's not the fact that I grew up on it, really. I didn't have chicken chips until I was like 12 and they were BEAUTIFUL. And I can bet that at least some of those trying milo that hated it actually like a similar sort of chocolately drink that they have in America. I actually found poptarts in a shop here, a Woolworths, they're migrating! :D Still have no idea what a twinkie is though.

Vegemite is so tasty! I mix it with jelly and almond butter for an amazing bagel. Shapes are also quite tasty.

I'm noticing that people in other countries don't like American snacks...everyone's taste buds are different, though I am quite curious to try vegemite...you're only supposed to have a LITTLE bit of it, right?
Vegimite also called liquid nightmares, or rather poison lite.
Thing is it's the same with Marmite here in the UK. It's a very acquired taste that only people who grew up tasting it will enjoy. Most people don't like it if they only taste it for the first time as an adult.
Tips for curious Americans:
Vegemite: U don't completely smear the toast with it, ever!. The trick is to put the smallest possible amount, like a centimetre long on the tip of the knife.
Milo: make like u would hot chocolate, otherwise it'll taste cheap, it's great if u make it like hot chocolate.
Shapes: first of all, the pizza flavour sucks, get the BBQ flavour! BBQ flavour is the best!
Red skins: theirs no trick to red skins except that u didn't give them some!!!
Freddo: once again, no trick, but they didn't try them!!!! .
Or you have to leave the milo on the top of the milk to eat... This video took all the fun away from a cold milo!

As an American who knows about Australia, let me tell you:
1. You're only supposed to spread a little bit of Vegemite on toast....NOT EAT IT BY THE SPOONFUL.
2. Milo tastes pretty good. Like chocolate Nesquik powder. My Aussie friend's mother would make me warm Milos when I came to visit. Yum. I don't know what that girl was talking about because it's nothing like dog food. She was too harsh.

Try making the milo with condensed milk and water. Put it in the shaker and some iced, stir and shake it... that’s how i do it usually...

Just tried Vegemite! American here. It is super salty, yes. But I listened to Australians and put it on toast with butter, and it's still salty but it's not terrible. Not a bad combo.

I can understand where she's coming from - I think it's from the grainy texture more than the actual taste itself, though. I think she's comparing to dry dogfood. That said, Milo is so good. They should have had it on ice-cream or the hot version (where it actually dilutes properly).

Probably one of her old boyfriends used to put a leash on her make her crap on the floor then rub her nose in it saying "bad doggie". Then after she went potty outside like a good doggie he gave her a can of Alpo as a reward. I'm not 100% sure if this is how she knows what dog food tastes but I bet I'm close.
Not an Aussie, but I feel like a good comparison to what you did with the vegemite is something like just eating beef bullion cubes or a jar of garlic powder or something like that. You took something that's a condiment and ate it like it's a main dish.
