- Fast approaching 3 years old, the iPhone 13 is still being sold by Apple, and the 13 Mini stands as the last small flagship smartphone Apple may ever make. In 2024, these phones offer good value- but are they still worth buying, and how do they hold up?

The iPhone 13 & 13 mini are both fantastic iPhones in my eyes, and hold up really well even almost 3 years later- for the most part, at least.
Any of you using the iPhone 13 right now? How's it working for you? Do you think it's still worth it in 2024?
The iPhone 13 is worth it in 2024 because it’s still getting updates and full app support and apple not slowing down the phone yet.
The 13 mini is the greatest phone ever created. The only downside to it is that it has an OLED panel, which burns in very quickly. Mini LED would be a nice thing to have.
I am using my IPhone 13 right now, and I ❤️ it!
Yes,using IPhone 13 Pro Max.Working great still,even better after iOS 17.5 update.Still very much worthwhile in 2024. 😁👍
as an iphone 13 user, still super smooth and can go head to head with other smartphones in 2024.
The iPhone 13 was peak Apple in my opinion. The 13 series seems to be aging like fine wine. I believe it’ll be praised in the same way the iPhone 4s is praised.

Or the 6s
I agree, I upgraded from the 13 Pro Max to the 15 Pro Max and it genuinely caused so much sadness, I had to return it. It was way too similar to the 13 Pro Max in terms of literally everything and so I agree, the 13 series is peak Apple. 120Hz option, a mini option, fantastic battery across all and the best colour choices (I absolutely miss my Sierra Blue) and pretty much identical to the 14 series.
Good comment! Like fine wine is good..!
The best iPhone ever, Apple got everything right with the iPhone 13, it’s definitely still worth a value in 2024.
yea Im bout to get a 13 pro and make my 12 mini a backup. For the current price its a great buy
The 13 series was the best iPhone series from the mini to the max those were the most improved iPhones ever made in terms of almost everything
The question is, is it worth upgrading from 11?

I got the 13 mini new, upgraded from iPhone 5. It's the GOAT bro
@@stpav2698 $479.99 including shipping. And it'll definitely be cheaper now since that was the price from last year
I’m using the 13, it’s 2024, so yes! I like mine a lot and I hope it’ll work for another one or two years.
Should work for 2&1/2 with feature updates and then 2 more with security updates. It’ll take a lot of work to make me use anything but this mini. I might just get an Android or give up on having a smartphone.
Don’t worry Lordof.Joy your iPhone 13 is supported until 2028-2030.
@@ELMARIACHI13really?
@@dark_nightwing_xl2797 Yes really.
@@ELMARIACHI13 That’s not accurate. It will not receive feature updates past 2026 and no security updates past 2028. That’s the standard life span of iphones. I’m not sure where you got that 2030 figure from, that would be 8 years of support which is unheard of for iPhones (excluding the iOS 12 update from a while back).
Apple hates when you keep old phones. Screw them. The 13 is good
Love my 13. Had it since January 2022. Currently at 88% battery health after well over 500 cycles. I’ll get a new battery next year and keep till software support ends
13 pro max owner here since one week after its release and got to say that it’s probably one of if not the best iPhone that Apple has ever released! The display, battery, refresh rate and chipset are by far the best I’ve ever had the privilege of using. If you’re looking to upgrade your iPhone and want to get a high speed one that doesn’t break the bank, PLEASE look at the iPhone 13 line up, it won’t disappoint!
I have the 15 promax coming from the 12 pro max and I have always admired the 13 pro max but didn’t make enough sense for me to go from the 12 pro max to the 13 pro max so I kept it since 2020 till the 15 pro max launched so I got it, still the 13 pro max and it’s family is one of the goat of all time
@@canyoncanyon2017 yeah if I’m being honest, I jumped from the iPhone 11 to the 13 pro max because I always liked the bigger screen and also well lots of other cool things came with it too, bigger battery, build quality was really nice too, OLED screen man it was a pretty big jump and I felt that! The 11 was a great phone don’t get me wrong but man it’s crazy how Apple managed to improve in just 2 more years😭🙏
The iPhone 13 is worth it in 2024 because it’s still getting updates
Never considering updates or anything.. as long as it runs stable.. each of OS upgrades needs specific kernel but if it only causes the device to slow down or even laggy.. its not worth the upgrade..

Great info as always, thanks Josh!
Thanks for the video
I have my 13 mini for about 2 years now, and won’t be upgrading until this phone dies. It is holding up so great, honestly, I’ve never had the feeling the phone was slowing down or anything. I mostly use my phone for messaging, calling and checking socials and sometimes play some games. If you want a smaller phone I would definitely still recommend this phone.
I upgraded from the XS to a 13 Mini back in January, and I absolutely love it. I know it gets a lot of love on this platform, and I was hoping Apple would recycle its form factor for the new SE.
As I’m not a fan of full cases, I use my Product Red 13 Mini with a bumper, MagSafe grip and wrist strap. Would definitely recommend.
Thanks for the content.
I love my IPhone 13 (purchased in April 2022, starlight, 128 GB), and I will keep it until 2028..! It’s ALL that you really need..good cameras, good battery, durable..! You don’t need satellite connectivity nor crash detection in your IPhones! Don’t go too far in “cell range” or take a Garmin hand beacon in case of being lost and as for, crash detection, ALL cars have that today! Got my pink iPhone 13 in January 2024 and it’s a great smartphone super quick and takes great pictures even low light 😊
Great review! How many more years of software uodates do you expect the 13 to get?
I have a product red 13 mini as my iPod replacement at my job and i love it. I had a full sized blue 13 that I gave to my dad once i (sadly) upgraded to the 14 Pro Max, its still the phone i recommend to all my family and friends. Great battery life, great cameras and a great deal overall 👍
Just bought a refurbished after I load my mini 12 and this video helps out
The iPhone 13 holds up so well! Also love the use of Persona music in the video. Cheers!
I'm still on an iPhone XR and haven't changed my battery yet. Certain AI features and location services cause my phone to lag out now. But after disabling most it still works quite well. So I could see iPhone 13 easily lasting another 3 years.
My wife has 2 iPhone 13 mini’s, one for personal use on Verizon in starlight and one for work on At&T in red. She loves the small size and I think it will be difficult to get her to upgrade with no small phone option available anymore.
I recently upgraded from a silver iPhone X to an iPhone 15 Pro Max in natural titanium. I’ve gotten used to the larger size and her mini phones feel like toys when I pick them up or occasionally answer her phone when she is away from it. I see the appeal of the tiny phone, but I’m willing to sacrifice ease of holding for a large screen to watch content and the great 5x zoom lens.
I just got the 13 two days ago after using android for 10 years. I was worried about 60hz screen bcs my previous phone got 120hz but I personally don’t notice any difference unless it was side by side comparison.
Hello,
I admire you and I’m following you since a long time on my other account and I currently have a dilemma :
I bought the iPhone 15 Pro changed it for the same one as the battery couldn’t even last a day ( for only Instagram and WhatsApp stuff ) at the end I’ve decided to give it back to Apple so I have a gift card with a value that can offer me a new IPhone.
I currently have an iPhone 13 Pro Max but the battery can’t last so long, what would you do, invest on a new battery and case for around 150$ and wait for the 17 pro or even 18 pro.
Or wait for the 16 pro ?
Thanks
Switched from iPhone SE 2nd gen to 13 mini earlier this year. The only thing I miss from the SE is Touch ID.
I hunted down and purchased a 13 mini brand new discounted at a local tech store as I’m not a fan of bigger phones. I bought it earlier this year. I enjoy music more than social media and all that i feel are distractions. I do love the mini but I just recently noticed that the battery health status has dropped to 99 percent health already 😢
Just bought the 13 mini last month. Love it so far. (Came from a 12 mini. I know kind of a pointless switch, but with no more mini coming up I had no choice when getting a new phone and I want to use it as long as possible)
I'm looking at getting the 13. I have the XR but the batteries starting to run down and I could buy a replacement on Amazon cuz I'm not going through Apple, but I don't know how long that would hold up
I bought one brand new half a year ago. It’s got headroom for years performance wise but somehow, with very light use and low brightness, it fell all the way down to 75% BH
using iphone 13 since july 2022 and this phone is unbreakable. i dropped it many times on different surfaces (in case tho) but glass on both sides is pristine. none of my phones before (iphone 4s, iphone 7 plus and several androids in between) had this superpower. the design was improved so much, i forgot how the phone model can have its signature deceases (like faulty wifi antenna in iphone 4s and boot loop in iphone 7)
(all tech specs are on the second place for me hhh)
cameras are great, screen is great, charging is fast, the phone is fast itself
I bought the 13 back in September of 2023 (same time the 15 lineup came out) and to this day it still runs very well. The A15 chip still holds up in 2024 and I haven’t had any problems with battery and performance. The notch never really bothered me and I honestly think it’s look much cleaner with it being small. My only problem is that it doesn’t have a ProMotion display but none of the base models do to begin with. Still a great mid-range phone that’s worth it in 2024
I upgraded to a 13 from a XR this past summer. My mobile plan said I was due for an upgrade and this was the cheapest one. No regrets.
I upgraded from XR to 13 few weeks ago and i can say no regrets at all, i’m loving my 13
I’ve been using Iphone 13 mini since 2022 and it is still amazing today
I’ve had the iPhone 11 for years ( never had a problem just broke the screen and the touch sensor) but I ended up getting the iPhone 13 the other day still don’t know what’s new about it but I sure am loving it
Currently using my 13 that i got about 6 months after launch. Quite honestly, minus a couple infrequent hiccups, it’s still a fast as the day i got it. So far, it’s the best phone i’ve ever owned.
I have the white iPhone 13 I bought back in January of 2024. It’s a great phone. It’s cheaper, still looks like it was released yesterday. And best off, it has a SIM card slot. Honestly that’s the only reason I bought the 13. If the 15 pro had a SIM card tray, I would have definitely bought it. But my carrier doesn’t support it
I love my 13 mini fits in my pocket very well pics looks great and so far i have droped it about 6 times and nothing is wrong. even the paint is unflawed.
Bought a 13 mini not to long ago but I had to find and purchase the magsafe battery case which are kinda hard to find. This combo lasts way longer than my late 12 Pro Max.
I went from an iPhone 12 mini to the 13 mini a little over two years ago. It’s been a great phone and a LOT better with heat management and battery life.
My battery health is now at 88%. It’s noticeably not as strong as before, but still a great phone that I will likely have for at least another year or so!
Truly hope the mini returns.
I still have my 13, still works great
My buddy upgraded to a 13 from a XR. Originally i recommended a 14 just cause it was newer and might get a year more in software support but the 13 is actually very nice. It has good battery life a great camera and it’s still so fast.
13 And 14 have same chip, so they both have same tien software updates
Love my 13 mini.. still rocking 95% battery health! Best phone I ever used for personal use.
Love the PERSONA 5 Soundtrack in the BACK!!
what's up with persona 5 soundtrack in videos lately
Just got an IPhone 13 a few days ago. Such a lovely sleek and high performing phone. My friends told me after 13 series, IPhones aren’t upgrading exponentially to justify the price of a 15. Happy with my purchase.
Yeah it’s either 15 or 13 at this point
14 is just same as 13
Most of the upgrades 14 got are not that I care about
14 lineup isn’t worth it to me at all, the battery seems to deteriorate much faster, my brother had his for about a little over a year and he’s at 93% battery health, it took me 2 years on my 13 pro to hit 90% battery health.. my brother has a 14 pro and is already at 88% battery health in a year and a half
is the iphone 12 pro used with 92% battery health and in perfect condition worth it for 360 bucks?
my mum got a brand new green 128gb ip13 a month ago and it is flawless (minus the display and expensive repairs)
Here in the UK you can still get the iPhone 12 on the Apple refurbished store for £419 (the iPhone 13 is £599 new or £509 refurbished). I'm sure a new 13 is better than a refurbished 12 - you get double the storage for a start - but I doubt it's going to be £180 better.
Was using 12mini from 2020 upto 2022, which is when I upgraded to 13mini. Love it. The battery health is down to 85%, once it reaches 82% will get a new battery and stick with the phone till when I can. Its just so easy to carry. Put in your pockets and just forget its even there; even while sitting you dont need to remove it from your pocket.
I have a 11 but play on updating to this just waiting until September so the price can drop when that 16 come up
My iPhone 13 has been good so far, it has definitely lasted longer than my old iPhone SE, that lost 10% of it's maximum capacity in 6 months, my iPhone 13 has only lost 1% and I've had it for 5 months. I still think I should've stayed on the iPhone SE and just got the battery replacement, the battery in that phone was probably faulty.
Had to switch from 12 mini just bc of the battery life, got the 13 and never had to worry bout the reliability of my handheld ever since. Simply love this one. ;)
My 13 Pro has been holding up pretty well but man the battery health is going down faster than expected. I’m at 83% for now but the moment it goes to 75% I’ll probably switch it out ( I am a delivery driver so having a longer battery life is essential ) other than that though it’s been pretty well at whatever I need it for. Definitely recommend it as a backup or vacation phone.
You can change the battery for $129 if you don't care about anything else
if battery life matters all that much to you, getting a plus would be a wise decision imo
Found a OtterBox in a parking lot. Glad it worked for 15. Also took out a power button from a 13 case.
Might get one renewed from amazon, im getting it delivered tomorrow ty for your help.
How was the phone? Do you recommend? I was thinking of getting a refurbished one from Amazon as well

I am using the iPhone 13 nearly 2 years and it’s still working great
My 13 pro was probably one of the best iPhones I’ve ever owned… the battery in that phone was phenomenal, over 2 years and battery health was only at 89% and that was with heavy use during those 2 years.. I have a 15 pro now but I do reminisce about my 13 pro, it was just a great piece of phone
I have a 13 and love it still after 3 years. It’s a solid phone!
Upgraded from 12 pro max from launch date to 13 mini late last year in 23 definitely worth it if it what you want a good overall phone
The used 13 mini with 256gb has the same or a bit lower priced as the current base iPhone SE
iPhone 13 is my First iPhone. I shifted from android with 120Hz to iPhone 13 but it's unnoticeable I also love the ios software. I didn't regret buying this iPhone and it's my first ever iPhone
as long as the battery is good most iphones past the 12 are absolutely worth it because most applications never take advantage of the processing power in newer phones for it to be worth getting over slightly older phones.
I think there are two best small smartphones out there- 13 Mini and the Asus Zen Phone (want to say the newest was larger but the 2 seemed really solid for the size)
I am Using iPhone 13 for almost 1 year and it’s safe to say it was a great purchase! The 14 is basically the same, the only reason why would I pick 14 over 13 is better reliability. The back-glass is removable so it is much much cheaper to replace it.
I’ll be keeping my 13 mini for quite a while as there’s no way to upgrade it to another mini so the size is really nice and if you have an iPad at home, you just switch to your iPad when you get home
I used my iPhone 8 256 gb since Oct 2020 until it broke on March 2024. My mom was going to buy me the 15 and told me not to to worry about the budget cuz she wanted me to not have problems about secondhand phones anymore. But after hearing recommendations from my auntie, they decided to just go for the 13 since they told me it was revolutionary. I didn’t believe at first but I was happy with any phone as long as it was brand new (I’ve always got secondhand phones which gave me a lot of problems. Even the iPhone 11 was good enough for me as long as it was brand new.) I got the 13 on April 11, 2024. The battery life is AMAZING. The change from the 8 to the 13 was so new to me. I love it! I’m planning to keep this phone until I graduate on 2027. It’s just enough to receive updates until that year. Also, I really saw how many people praised the iPhone 13 and I loved it even more. 😂
i have an iphone 14 and i’m buying a 13 bc why not i really wanna experiment between notch and the dynamic island bc before the 14 pro i was on the 6s
Using it and it's just awesome.
Been using the 13 Pro Max since day 1.
I love it and its great but my next phone will be a normal iPhone. I realized I dont use my phone that often that I need a fantastic camera, fast CPU and normally use it to listen to music, watch some movies, Netflix and YT.
I will probably miss the 120Hz display but I just dont need a Pro model.
My Xr still works perfectly fine
iPhone 13 base model will receive updates up to 2027-2028. It will be updated but those updates get more complex and some features later on won’t be available on iPhone 13. But it’s a fast iPhone it zips. But battery life I think is good you can expect 6-7 hours of screen on time. Overall it has good camera system, zippy performance and good battery life. In 2024 and beyond will still be a good buy now.
I love my iPhone 13 however as i pre ordered and i use it a bit too much so it’s battery life is at 75% meaning i end up charging it atleast 2-3 times per day so if the 16 is as good as expected I’ll be upgrading. That being said if not I don’t have a issue keeping it till upgrading is worth it or even till it stops receiving updates if needed ( hopefully not necessary) because I prefer not keeping it till 2027-2028 but if needed would be ok as it not actually that far away
I went from the iPhone SE 2nd Gen to the iPhone 14 last year. No complaints here. I probably would have went with the iPhone 13, but the 14 also has the Satellite SOS connectivity and automatic crash detection which is important for me since I travel a lot.
For how much?
@@dark_nightwing_xl2797 the iPhone 14 was still $799 when I bought it but I had $200 (or a bit more, I forget) off with my trade in.
I bought one today right after watching that video, 500€ brand new inside the box. Previously i had a Google pixel4a that was working but the battery was dying badly, it was a pretty strong and good phone though, now i need to get used to iphone because that's my first one.
The iPhone 13 series was the last iPhone that had a physical Sim card. That’s why I kept mine.
Oh really?!
Been trying to convince my wife who has always loved smaller phones (4s to the SE, now on SE 2020) to go for a 13 Mini but she is so hesitant to move on from the old home button design. I once felt the same but after getting an 11 Pro after years on a 6s I fell in love with the gesture system, I think it’s way easier and quicker to use. Currently loving my 13 Pro to death, I would love to upgrade to the 16 series but chances are I run this another 1-2 years.
Also even though it’s my wife using the small phones and not myself, I am still really upset the 13 Mini is likely the last Apple will make. Remains to be seen what the SE4 will be but all the 6.1” rumors have me so confused, let’s see how it differentiates from the standard iPhone model…
My student's XR is holding up so good in 2024, I think my 13 will be fine in the next years.
What do you think about how long the iPhone 13 will still receive updates?
Im going from an xr to a 13 finely upgrading 😮💨
I wonder if it's really true that there will be much more ios updates since everything is about Ai now. you wonder if operating systems will be a thing for long. besides the iPhone in general.
This is such a weird video because I switched to from Android to an iPhone 13PM not even two years ago and it's still running like brand new, minus some superficial scratches and plus software updates. It's like, are the Pop-Tarts in my cabinet that I bought last week still good?
Like, yeah. They're good. So is the iPhone 13.
I still have the iPhone 13 Pro and it's still going strong and also own the iPhone 11 still great devices in 2024
not this showing up when i'm already thinking of my phone upgrade which is due in two months. the company is offering the iphone 13, 14, and 15 though i think i'd go for the 15 since there's barely any difference between the 11 and the 13 aside from the diagonal cameras so i think it will be the 15 or nothing. 13 is definitely a good phone and would be a good upgrade if you're coming from older phone versions.
I have the iPhone 13 and I have dropped it mistakenly several times but it is still in tact Great device no protector/case on my iPhone I forgot to mention.

I just got a 13 for a good deal through T-Mobile back in Nov as a 2nd phone I’ll say it does hold up very well no issues at good camera performance and very very good battery and it’s the perfect size my health is still on 100% after 6 months but unfortunately I’m gonna trade it for a 15 soon
Guys, what would you pay for a used Iphone 13 standard with a brand new battery changed on the store where the owner bought it? What price 364,18 USD\ 335,40 Euro is the price I have to pay. Phone has no rift or scars in the phone.
I was between the 13 and the 14, ended up picking the 13 because of the 100$ price difference, I don't regret it one bit, basically same processor, and with a better battery.
i still have the 13 and upgraded it in 2022
Extremely durable phone The regular 13 is amazing I have dropped my phone so many times on my driveway I try to be careful but I drop everything it’s taking some nasty hits to the point where I thought it was over my screen was for sure to crack all I have is a thin case and a screen protector nothing has broken no dents barely visible scratches I’ve had this phone since it came out but I am looking to upgrade to the 14 pro eventually just because it has a great camera and has some new features I’d like to toy with I will most likely just keep the 13 and store it away
I upgraded from Xr to 13 and I didnt regret it the 13 is still fast camera is still the best had to compare it to my friend’s 14 i cant see the difference the best line up for me is the 13 series

I had a 13 mini and a 13 pro. Still have both although I gave the mini to my daughter but the 13 line is all worth it. It seems like Apple does a hit and then a miss. The 11 series was applauded, the twelve series seemed to be iffy,13 was a hit,14 series choices were once again iffy and then 15 once again is well rounded 🤣
Just ordered one due to my Pixel 8 not doing it for me.
