So do you really need to know what the knob is pointing at? Just set them to your ears not some arbitrary number ( I guess in a studio where you wanna know it matters or as a tech to be sure your artist’s settings are correct) to me thats not an issue, however wobbly knobs are not its like play in the steering its ok for a commuter but not a racecar and this amp is no commuter its a friggen rocket car to tone town! 🚀🔊

I find it important to know what the knobs are pointed at for transport. If you move your rig around a lot it’s nice to know how it’s set so you can plug and play a little faster and not tinker with tone too much. I understand changing environment will require tone tweaks but having that defined starting position is quite the time saver.
But overall yes you have a really good point. Set your tone by ear. Numbers don’t matter. Like at all.

@@smeemusic excellent points. I’d take a week getting set up if i had to ever travel with my current convoluted rig without knowing my settings , luckily for me no one is asking me too play any gigs, they’ve probably watched some of my noodling videos and know better . 😂

@@PooNinja haaaahahahahaha! I wish we could reply with photos here. I have a huge rig as well. 2 half stacks running stereo. Huge pedalboard. It’s all super fun and sounds fantastic. BUUUUUUT!!!! It could all be easily replaced by a quad cortex. For a fraction of the price. My main amp producing my tone is my evh 5150iiis el34 100 watt head. Into my 2003 Engl 412 pro. I have a bugera half stack as well that I just use for the power amp and cab for stereo fx. But when I record I use my bugera head into my iso cab with a v30 just to get a much better tone.
My big Ah Ha moment was when I was programming my boss es-8 one day. I realized I just created a massive quad cortex or fractal floor unit. All I’m doing is playing guitar with extra steps. I’m making it way more complicated than it needs to be. However, the signal routing aspect is really fun with complicated rigs.

Well I guess I'm saving like $5500 CAD for an amp.

Why is it that when I see left handed musicians I feel like it looks clumsy. No matter how on point they are it’s like my head cannot accept that this stuff also works backwards. Like if I play drums or guitar in a mirror I get the same vibes.
I used to work at a club that the whole wall beside the stage was a mirror. I jammed on that stage many times. I would get a good giggle every time I’d look at us in the mirror. Just looks like a bunch of left hands doing the best they can.
I do not mean this as disrespect towards lefties. This is clearly a hardwire issue in my head. Am I the only one here like this or do I need therapy?

This amp can do sooooo much more than metal and this clearly shows it. Show me where it says metal amp anywhere on it? Open your mind my friend.

An amplifier that is far more than metal and easily can handle each style of music has no limitations when it comes to guitars. Also many Metalbands used Guitars with Singlecoils in various recordings at the studios(that including also bands of more extreme metal genres). When it sounds good, then it is the right way to go.The result is all what is important.
      Greetings🤘
