    Rugby is probably one of the best stations to see Pendolino's and Voyagers at full speed & full tilt! Down the far south end of the bay platform you can catch northbound non stop services sweeping round the curve at full speed. But you've got to the quick with the camera because they tend to just appear with no warning and without a sound until they're in sight. This was filmed on Sunday 1st of September. So it being a Sunday means sunday service and unfortunately the entire time I was at Rugby not a single freight to be seen.
    Features plenty of Virgin Pendolino's & Voyagers and well as London North Western 350's.
    Thanks for watching this video from Rugby!

    I regularly travel from Glasgow Central to Euston and back again on the Pendo's and I'm amazed at how fast they travel through the bend just before the station. Your film captures it well, it's good to see it from the outside!

    Could this be a reference to the Rugby World Cup beginning in about 30 minutes?!

    I remember the days when RailTrack/Network Rail/Virgin Trains went to town on this station and junction. Great to see how everything is operating.

    Trains heading south and coming from Coventry/the Flyover are restricted to 75 mph presumably, but can increase speed as they pass that point and reach the station.

    Nice footage. It looks like the trains are appearing out of an overgrown garden! I really hate those dreadful sterile station announcements. They never seem to shut up on stations in this country nowadays.

    If I'm correct when there's two northbound pendolinos, one is stopped and one passes. The one stopped is probably a train to Birmingham, while the one passing it goes to Liverpool

    The VT at 15:35 has the wrong pantograph up. Shouldn’t it be the one at the rear...

      Probably means that the back pantograph is broken.

      Mr. Noah Though is that damaging the front pantograph then? Since why would they always have the rear pantograph up?

    Ugh, how ghastly that londonorthwesternrailway livery is on the unit at 9:42 isn't it. What a horrible clashing garish mess.
    Still, the new people who've won the West Coast franchise have talked about ordering IETs to replace the Voyagers haven't they, which seems sensible. Who is it now? First and someone is it?

    • @pxsrrail2558
      @pxsrrail2558 Před 5 lety

      Probably won't be iets replacing voyagers, but it will be bimode units. 19 new tilting electrics are also to be ordered. The franchise will be run by trenitalia and first, branded as LMS. Hope this is useful!!
