  • 2Pac & Ice Cube were undoubtedly two of Hip Hop's biggest stars in the 90's, both stemming from the West Coast.
Their friendship started as admiration for one another, but it soon soured as they both progressed in their careers. Culminating in a disagreement and misunderstandings that lead to their beef.
This video delves into the reason why 2Pac & Ice Cube had beef with each other.

I don’t think hate is the correct word to use. As a lifelong hip-hop fan, I’m getting tired of CZcamsrs, trying to make certain rappers look bad for clicks and views. I love hip-hop and I’m not saying there aren’t real conspiracies out there but one of the biggest problems with the hip-hop fan today is they believe every conspiracy that is out there. Not all of us, but it feels like 90%.
If you look at who these two men are neither of these guys had a problem calling someone out. Ice Cube publicly beef with, NWA, Cypress Hill, Common, and on the first west side connection album that whole album was pretty much a giant disc album to the East Coast.
I think if they had a legitimate problem with each other to where they “hated “ each other it would’ve came out on wax without subliminals. Neither of these two were big on subliminals. They had no problem putting your name out there.
Now they have a small issue with each other? Yes, I do believe that in the early 90s for a short amount of time. But there are pictures of them out there. You can find online. There’s one out there where you see ice cube with his son and Tupac sitting together. Back when o shea Jackson Junior was still a baby. I think there beef was just who’s going to be the most respected MC in the west at the time. I know today everyone likes to jump up and down like a kid on the short bus going to the zoo for the first time screaming “but Tupac was really from New York.”
Do younger hip-hop fans yes, he was born in New York but his entire rap career he was living in California. He started in Northern California and then he ended it in Southern California. The whole time he was alive. Most of us didn’t even know he was born in New York he was considered a West Coast rapper his entire time he was alive. it wasn’t until the Internet became a daily thing in all of our lives where people acted like he was born in New York, grew up in New York started wrapping in New York and then signed to death row and moved to California. That’s not what happened. Tupac was a West Coast rapper.

Pac was influenced by Cube in his early years in the rap game. For example, in 1992, "Troublesome 21" the proyect that endup being "Strickly 4 My Niggaz" album, had unreleased songs were Pac sounded similar to Cube's style. If you didn't listen you should do.
The same happend the oposite way years after, when Cube started in West Side Connection. Clearly with a sound and style similar to Pac's one.

Pac is the most significant artist of all time. It's not ironic that the Bay shows more love to Pac than LA does. No drive by's, no popping caps at each other just two men being proper men.

@@LyricalHipHopOfficial I just think hate is a strong word. Hip Hop is very competitive and you had a bunch of dominant West Coast leads that we're aiming for the top spot. Sounds like Cube had some envy towards Pac and possibly some deeper ill will since Pac was dating Yo Yo. A lot of artists were using each others slang so Pac tripping over the use of "Don" was showing his immature side when clearly hip hop at the time was inspired by the Godfather and others like Scarface... I think everything would have worked out if Pac lived. Regardless, this is a well put together video stating facts instead of opinions. Respect âœŠđŸŸđŸ‘ŒđŸŸ
