How to Fix SHARP TV Red Light On But Wont Turn On || SHARP TV Not Working

- There are several reasons why SHARP TV Red Light On But won't Turn On, and understanding each possible cause can help you resolve the problem quickly.
1. Make sure the AC cord is not loose or disconnected. Check to ensure the cord is firmly plugged into the outlet at one end, and firmly connected to your television at the other end. The AC cord connects to the television about midway across the back of the set, near the bottom of the back panel. The hole for the AC connection is shaped like a figure eight. Try powering up the TV with the cords firmly connected.
2. Check the "Main Power" to ensure it is on. Locate the button on the top of the television among the "Volume" and "Channel" buttons. Press the button to switch the television on. If the "Main Power" button is off the remote will not turn on the television. Wait to see if pressing "Main Power" will activate the TV.

hi! Glad I stumbled on your vid. Q: going by prob/tip #2, I should replace the main board, BUT is it even worth it? I've only had this tv 4 yrs, I feel I should just buy another brand. I have another tv thats over 20yrs, no probs. 🤷🏽♀🤷🏽♀

Further check the psu board. Visual checks confirmed that there were no burnt parts. When the PSU was connected to the tester, the tester did not turn on, indicating that the PSU was faulty. According to the label in the PSU output side, the stand-by volt is 5VDC marked as 5VSB (Voltage Standby). This voltage is supplied to the mainboard of the TV. Without this voltage the TV will not turn on
I followed the initial steps in the video for my sharp model LC58Q7370U. My standby voltage is consistently 2.84 volts. If I do the next step and power off the TV and disconnect the connector from the power supply to the controller board it drops to 0 everytime.
I tried a second PSU and exact same results.
With the connector disconnected the standby power goes to 0, all other voltages remain the same.
Does that mean my standby voltage is correct at 2.84 and my meter is off by .5 or should it be 4.5 or higher?
I know this is a long shot... did you ever figure this out? I have the same model of TV and I am reading the same standby voltage. I'm not sure about the disconnect instructions

I have the first scenario where the red light turns on and when pressing the power button it does not generate sound or image when checking the "stand by" voltage it gives me 2.5v only when disconnecting the cable( 1:27 ) from the main board it drops to 0v the question Is it the same, will I have to change the electrolytics?
Where do I buy the parts (PSU/mainframe) pieces from if that is the problem?

However before m purchase any parts you have to find the problem and confirm it is hardware problem.

Hi, I have a sharp led tv model 55p6000u. Tv powers on and displays the sharp logo and then it displays a blank screen. I can still see the white backlight on blank screen. Is it a bad power supply board or main logic board?

Just found one like this today in neighbors trash. Made in December 2018 and has described symptoms. I'm betting it's just bad capacitors on power supply board. Once I open it up and diagnose and hopefully fix, I will post my results.
Tv looks in great condition, sure hope I get it going as my old 2008 Visio set is still working but picture is getting dimmer and yellowish. Still perfectly watchable, but I'm ready for a newer set. Wish me luck.

My sharp tv won't turn on but for some odd reason when I lay it down the floor it turns on but when I want to put it on a furniture it doesn't turn on I tried turning on the power button when its on the furniture any suggestions on how I could get this fix and thank you.
I don't know the problem specially but it sounds like a loose connection. Pull of gravity downward, opens a conection somewhere. Don't know if this helps.

MY SHARP TV HAS A POWER RED LIGHT THAT BLINKS BUT NO PICTURE AND NO SOUND :( I BOUGHT 2 OF THE MAIN BOARDS AND REPLACED THEM :) VERY EASY THING TO DO BUT I DIDN'T CHANGE THE SMALL ONE SO I'M GOING TO REPLACE IT AND THE POWER CORD AND SEE IF MY TV WILL WORK THEN AND IF NOT I GUESS I WILL JUST GO BACK TO VIZIO BECAUSE I NEVER HAD A PRPBLEM WITH VIZIO :(

power on TV, back lights come on Sharp logo comes on screen and then Sharp logo disappears and shuts down after a minute.. PCB PSB board maybe ? I've hard reset, unplug etc but can't factory reset as I can't see anything on the screen.. I have unplugged the power lead from PSB and connected again, nothing.. I can press the remote after the auto shut down and the logo comes on screen clearly and then blank again .. Many thanks

Rescanned your tv channels in your tv menu or buy another tv antenna and rescanned your tv channels in the menu again.
