    The fundamental vascular changes in hypertension are hyaline arteriosclerosis, medial hyperplasia for benign hypertension and onion skinning, fibrinoid necrosis, and necrotizing arteriolitis for malignant hypertension. These changes are what hypertension contributes to the luminal narrowing and end organ damage.
    The description of plaque buildup narrowing the lumen describes the progression of atherosclerosis. Hypertension accelerates atherosclerosis (as does diabetes, smoking, etc.) but this isn't typically how luminal narrowing in hypertension is described.

    I read an interesting article by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the American Journal of Industrial Medicine that suggests that jobs that expose you to a lot of noise are an equally big risk for high cholesterol and blood pressure. I did some more research and found that doing some specific exercises can actually help control my high blood pressure. I am now following these exercises from Healsonate and it seems to be working well.

    what's the connection os RAAS in hypertension?

    • @eduardosamuelnavarrogonzal1059
      @eduardosamuelnavarrogonzal1059 Před 7 lety +4

      RAAS system regulates the blood pressure by releasing renin and coverting angiotensin 1 to angiontensin 2 by the lungs, once the body creates angiotensin 2 .... The endothelium have some receptors for the angiotensin 2 such as AT-1 and AT-2, depending the location of them is the effect. AT1 creates vasoconstriction, on the other hand AT-1 does the opposite. Basically RAAS system is important for our body to regulate high blood pressure or low blood pressure
