About four decades ago, I met a fellow from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom television show in a hotel lobby in Mississauga Ontario. He had a not quite full grown jaguar with him on a leash in the lobby. I was permitted to pet it. I found out that jaguars actually purr when they like your petting. It was like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of cats it was so muscular - huge shoulders. It did not want to leave me. It had to be literally dragged away slipping on the marble floor. To be honest, I did not want to leave it either. It was a marvellous creature.

I've actually learned so many things about the jagwire that I never knew about before. I was completely amazed that they can swim _underwater_ for 20 mins. as well as how much they like their Black Cayman Crocodiles. I was especially surprised that all my life I've been saying it wrong!! Who'da thunk it was pronounced jagwire?!?? 🤷🏽♀️🤔

There seems to be misconception that the only reason Jaguars go after Caymans is because they are smaller than crocs. It's actually because caymans are the only ones around. Jagaurs have the 2nd strongest jaw in the animal kingdom, this means they k ill pray like no other big cat on earth. As you see they aim for the brain, because their jaws can pierce any skull. That includes bigger crocodile as they maybe longer, but they don't have enough extra armour. A bigger crocodile would just be a bigger meal and a more attractive meal, as you also see the way they at tack is by suprise, so bigger crocodile isn't going to do anything else, there is no fight here. It would just try and swin away like Caymans do.
@@aenancen7158 there's a difference in agility and speed. Crocodiles are not as smart as a big cat. Neither do they have the agility or speed and mind is a big cat. If that cat catches them behind the back of the head, it's a wrap his brains getting punched in like a stapler

I think a Jaguar would stand a good chance against a Nile, Saltwater Croc, or American Aligator because its reaction times will be a lot higher but it depends on a lot of factors like size and habitat. Even the biggest Jaguars from the Pantanal area I don't think they would mess with some of the biggest American Alligators, Nile Crocodiles or Saltwater Crocs. They wouldn't bite off more than they can handle and would carefully select and stalk the right ones.

This Jag-Wire hast to be some serious competition for the Jaguar. Eating all its food and stuff.
