Turn Japanese Maple Seedings into Forest (Step by Step)

  • In this video, I will show you how to create a beautiful Japanese maple forest using seedlings quickly. Once you germinate JM seeds and grow them for a year or so, select ones that have similar leaves/colors and place a bunch of them in a separate container. After growing them for a few years, it's easy to turn them into a natural looking forest. Enjoy!

    i have 2 maples in a pot on the deck. hoping to put them both in a training pot tomorrow if weather cooperates. still winter here in SD, another storm coming on tues. 2 feet of snow on thge ground yet.

    Nice looking composition. I’m curious why you don’t bare root it (wash roots) to remove all organic medium before potting it up. Won’t the drainage be inconsistent? Thanks, keep growing

      Hello! I don't have a dedicated video on the topic but do have in covered briefly in various videos! Nothing fancy - use a mesh to cover 1-2 yrs old seedling in early spring till mid/late Spring, that's all :)
