Nicely done. Have you ever wondered how well Vanquest could design a light or ultra-light pack? As far as I know, they're entirely into daily hard use packs.

I absolutely love that they included at least "one" dedicated water bottle holder--I loathe Maxpedition for never including that and it's a deal breaker for me. Ben, I am in the market for a new BOB (DA--Dragon Egg is a bit small) and I am seeking something that is 30L-50L but prefer to stick with 30-40L. I just think 1000D (500D is perfect IMHO) is overkill and not sure I want the "tactical" look as I really don't want to stand out in a real BOB situation. I have learned a lot since starting this journey and I will never knee jerk like I use too--more thought is going into this. I am also looking and Sabra Sting (31L but a bit tactical as well). I love the add on options and the hip belt is way better. I think if I was in your business of carrying around a ton of camera equipment the Vanquest would be great. Anyway, always appreciate your thoughts. Leaning towards Sabra Sting as it's more simplistic and maneuverable at 500D.

What size was that laptop you pulled out? I have the trident 20 been stuffing my 15 macbook in it and my camera stuff i cant deal anymore i need bigger lol. Wondering if i should wait for shot show to see what they have coming out.

Excellent review. I agree with you on the chest strap. I was able to move it to a higher position like you recommended and it feels way more comfortable. Just curious on if you load the heavier items toward the top of the pack so the weight doesn't ride as low on your back? Thanks.

You should wait for the "Fire Sales" that Vanquest throws on their website. I just picked up Vanquest IBex 30 that usually retails for $220 on Amazon for about $120 shipped.
Fantastic bag, I still can't decide between the TRIPLE AUGHT DESIGN'S FAST PACK EDC, VERTEX GAMUT EDC or THE VANQUEST TRIDENT 31?
Mainly I want to use it going work and back from work.

Got mine this past weekend it is an awesome backpack the only issue is the waist strap is not long enough. after contacting Vanquest they informed me they make an extender it is available to order but not on the website yet. I probably will not use the waist belt anyway
Wonder if it would fit in the "Carry On" size checker bin so you can take it on a Plane? Looks like it would make a nice "Casual Weekend" Bag.

Is it heavy when you put it on, I have the triple aught design lite speed edc (the original design) and when I use it, it's heavy with little things that I carry.
Is there really space enough to carry a hydration bladder, without losing too much space in the main compartment, organizational possibilities or comfort?I haven't seen any backpack yet that saves you completely from a sweaty back on long hikes (yet Osprey does quite a good job with their suspended mesh structure) but how much would you rate the ventilation for your back on this backpack?
I don't think you covered the fact that it can be accessed from the top or the side enough...lol
Thanks for the review man, nice job.One question, I have the JAvelin 3.0 and considering this bag, now I saw your review on the javelin and i really can't understand how much bigger this Trident is, I now all the measurements and specs but can't really picture it in my head.According to Vanquest.com it hould be roughly twice the size in holding volume capacity, but it doesn't look that much bigger.What do you say?

Hi John, if you need protection for your gear like cameras or laptops then the TRIDENT-31 may be a better option. The FALCONER-30 has great CCW capabilities and is also a great pack for medical kits.
So for an EDC/range bag which would you recommend?
If you're going to carry a fair amount of ammo and/ or multiple guns, the TRIDENT-31 is a great option.
