The way you just explained how FDRS goes into the different modules on the CAN system and changes "the arrangement of each room" and then "Locks" it behind itself is genius. I'm going to use this to explain this to customers and for my soldiers in the National Guard. Love the content brother keep it up!

Love that new tailgate operation about not working unless in Park and double pressing buttons. Can’t wait to get that tailgate update on my 2017. So tired of my thumb hitting the tailgate button when I’m trying to pull the e-brake release.
I just ended up unplugged mine on my 17 f250 6.7. Tail gate hasn’t opened up without me knowing ever since. Like you said would go to release the e-brake and I would hear a thunk after release the brake and my tail gate was open against the garage wall. Honestly think it’s such a stupid feature in the first place. Would rather have it like it always has been with a handle but it came with the truck and was everything I wanted besides that stupid tail gate for lazy people.

Is there a SSM for the explorer for this issue? Or would asking for a bcm update be enough?

Yes , I got the message day 1 of my truck and mentioned it to my dealer and they just shrugged their shoulders. They also had problem installing "the factory installed" winch too. Now I cant find where they put my heather plug to plug up the truck during this artic blast. I told them they needed to watch your CZcams.

Had the update done today. Removed the truck from my garage and uninstalled the app and started fresh…still getting the deep sleep message. I’m hoping I’m doing something wrong but at this point idk. The dealership said oh well we can’t fix it…. Thanks Ford

Question. So as a tech when you are doing an update like this. Do you as a rule update all the modules that have them available? I saw when you were showing the BCM update looked like there were 4-5 others that also had updates available. Just curious.

I’ve seen that you made a video about exhaust fault system. And you fixed the issue with the software you had purchase. Can you please share where you purchase the IDS &VCM combo. And part number please. I’m having DEF exhaust fault code that I can’t clear. Thanks.
You can actually use Forscan. But IDS & FDRS can all be found at motorcraftservice.com

Great video. Found it because we just bought a 2023 BS Heritage Limited for my wife, yesterday. Out of the box we have this problem. Bought from dealer 100 miles away and not getting call back from local dealer so really regretting this purchase. Hope it turns around.
Anywho, is it possible we’ll need to have the same procedure done on our BS? I’ll gladly drive it back up to the selling dealer if we can actually get this fixed. Really want to love this decision to buy as my wife loves the look and feel.

I just watched your video and you are obviously a great Technician! So I have a 2022 F-350 Platinum with 2800 miles on it and its a year old going into deep sleep mode and also it wont lock unlock I've called Ford Pass 8 times did everything they said to do it worked after that every time but only for like 10 minutes The last Ford pass person said to take to dealer so I did and the dealer said no codes came up and could make it work for like 10 minutes but then quit working again. Also the GPS sign comes up on the screen saying no GPS. took it to the Ford dealer while the no GPS was on left truck running so it would not reset. The only thing they said is "what is Ford Passes #?" Never been fixed since I bought it a year ago UGH! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Today I tried to use FordPass but it told me I had to sign in. I didn’t try I just went on so don’t know what will appear when I do.
The deep sleep mode issue is also happening on my 2022 F150 XLT, does it need this same update?

Is this what only dealer can do or is there some way to do it yourself ? But maybe I don't need to worry about that, because I don't use Ford Pass at all and my phone is not connected to the truck.

I do get the notification on my 2020, but have not had the issue of not being able to remote start.

O M G..... I have a 2022 "F-150" I saw towards the END That the F-150 was in Part of this Bulletin??? I have had this Issue Since NEW, and the Dealer as far as I know has Only Replaced the Battery with the LARGER BATTERY Stipulated In the Owners Manual. I "STILL" Have this Issue??? My Tail Gate Operates Differently Right now today 07/23/2024 than how described at the END Of this Video. Should The Dealer Perform this BCM UPDATE on my 2022 F-150 LARIAT to RID me of this STUPID FORD PASS APP MESSAGE? Why can’t an update like this be done OTA or USB? I ask because on multiple occasions with Rams they sent out updates OTA or you could download and put on a USB drive to perform the update.

@PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod question do you know why in pcm there are two locations that say DPF manual regeneration under name and of course under value it says less manual regen initiation
On another note with people having issues of heated seats not working on remote start im getting DTC for passenger seat B120A if this helps you figure out the problem

At the start of the video you state this is for 2020 and newer trucks. The TSB stated it is only for 2022 year models. Does this update work for model years other than 2022? Is this the same problem as when you receive the message that Remote Services Have Been Disabled?
I've had customers that had 2020 trucks. With this ford pass message and I did this exact t s b
I took my F-450 in for service and asked that they perform this update. They told me there was no such bulletin. I showed them the link on the NHTSA website. I was then told that maybe it was superseded. They said they would check for any BCM updates, which they supposedly installed. I am still under an extended warranty but was told this was not covered and I was charged $179 for this BCM update. Does that seem right?@@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod

Can you please help me with my 2020 explorer! It constantly goes into deep sleep mode. Took it to the dealer last week and they did updates. Drove 25 miles home. as soon as I turned the engine off, it went back into deep sleep mode!
Mine done this when the dealership ran my battery completely dead, so maybe ur battery is going weak. That’s just a suggestion am a woman and don’t know a lot about fixing 1 🤷🏻♀️. Am a mail lady and can tell u everything about plugging a tire 😂
Just wait, soon you will be getting potential failure notification from vehicles, they will also be sent to customers and your volume will increase with calls for replacing parts that have not failed

I think it is ignorance mainly. They are picking up truck from install of spray in bedliner and a gooseneck that they paid for a third party to do(no cost to me) and doing the service. But it is sad that i know more about the vehicle than they do. Thanks again for the video, you gained a new subsciber! 2020+ ARE all FDRS now. Below 2020, all FDRS is used for is APIM sync programming....IDS would be for everything else. However Forscan works on everything
I'm getting this error on my 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid. Took in a couple of times and they have replaced the battery & TCU. Brought back in and they are telling me it's my Ford dash cam causing the problem when I don't think it is. I drove my Maverick on the highway for 3 1/2 hour and I will still get this error message when it's been sitting for 1/2 hour. Right now it's at the dealership and they suggested I unplug the dash cam when I'm done driving it.....um NO

I have a ‘22 F150 7500 miles that has been doing this for the past month. What’s sad is I’ve called the dealer I bought it from to schedule service. It kicks me to voicemail and I have yet to get a return call 😡

Guessing fordpass must suck a certain amount, my local dealer has signs up that is a one way deal, no refunds for any reason.
My ford dealer is not nice they claim they can’t turn on the DPF % or the manual regen they say if it didn’t come form the factory with it on they can’t (or won’t do it)

My dealer is similar but I have to really push hard to get action . Usually I have to ( AND IM Not KIDDING) hand carry either part numbers or service procedures to prove it’s possible to fix or change things.
That happened to me and I left my key in and locked me out of it
Dealership told me the download and install takes a minimum of 8hours they had my truck for 4 days
They havent a clue

I'm getting 21.6 on the highway in my 19. You just have to "remove" a few items. Last fill up said 906 miles to E with a stock fuel tank.
Can you imagine how many problems they super duties will have when they have over 100,000 miles on them I think I’ll pass on ever owning one of these things I just couldn’t deal with all the breakdowns and all the headaches these things seem to have
