- Eight seasons into Chicago PD, you have no doubt seen more than a few of your favorite characters leave the show. Unfortunately, not everyone makes it out alive. But as it is in show business, the reason someone leaves is not always black and white.

I still am hoping that Olinsky never really died and was put into witness protection or UC and will eventually return back to Intelligence! We never saw his body after he went through those hospital doors, no dead body, no open casket or talk of his wife or daughter Michelle again so It’s my belief he’s still alive 🙏🏼😊

Olinsky was one of those characters that you didn't realize how integral he was because most of the time he was in the background, didn't emotionally react all that much. Just cool and collected. Went along with Voight, didn't push back or question things. It wasn't until his daughter died. He didn't talk more, or cry he just had a distinct change in the way he carried himself that entire episode that really shows how good of an actor he is. To make that big of a change with not much more dialogue.
Really miss Olinsky!! A big mistake to take him out of the show.

@Robert Weston Lee no way!.. Jay is a nice guy yes..But are you actually understanding the concept of Chicago PD? This is about no nonsense not necessarily follow the rules kinda cops that are needed though have te be hidden in the shadows...AND if they mess up they are not acknowledged by the brass... every force has them...though it will never be admitted.
Therefore, Jay is actually the dullest of the lot!
But is needed to give a certain type of stability on the front view... The leading Man, Voight's 'character`explains it all.

@@gracepeynado6607 Antonio was always hard on others for not following the rules, but then forgot about all that when it benefitted him. I’m glad his character is gone. He was a liability, but Al, Voight, Adam, and Kim, have really added a lot to the show IMO. Only one I’m tired of now is Hailey. I don’t like the direction her character is going 😕
@@misssilentstorm4281 Agreed. I also would add Atwater brings a nice dimension. Jay bores me to tears and I just wished they killed him off an let Atwater, Ruzek and Kim be the main characters behind Voight and have Al be behind the scenes, running a shadow operation.

I love Alvin. I cried when they killed him off. He was one of my favorite characters😭😭My daughter loved Dawson.. He was mad when he left... Him & his sister.
Olinsky's death was so heartbreaking... he was one of my favorite characters on the intelligence unit along with Kev, Jay and Hailey. And Roman (his sister's death, damn), even tho he wasn't an intelligence member I liked him.
Erin's character didn't allowed me to like her, I really don't know why tho.
Jay, Hailey... I hope they don't leave the show. Specially since I've got Upstead, which I freaking love ❤

I don't like Hailey she's been with Jay and Adam she's needy. I like Burgess tho she's tough I liked how Erin helped what was the girls name who was the heroin addict that got clean then got killed. I like Kev. Jay Voight of course I miss Olinsky I use to like Antonio till he became Mr. Think I'm better than everyone, even when he was using myself. Hailey causes allot of problems now between Jay and Voight again. VOIGHT DOES ALLOT OF CRAP TO COVER ALL THERE MISTAKES AND HIS. HE'S LIKE THEIR DAD.
Add the ongoing drama with Erin's mother (who I so wanted to see get capped) and she was just more of a nuisance than an actress.

She's the real cog that keeps the show running. Like the den mother/ mother hen/ big sister/ vicious battle axe (Fin)/ caretaker/motherly center of the precinct type.

The first one: Burgess asking Trudy for something while looking at her with those huge puppy dog eyes.
The second one: Burgess asking Trudy for advice, and Trudy giving it to her in a " like it or lump it" fashion.
The third one: Burgess going out for drinks with Trudy, if Burgess can hang with Trudy.
Added bonus: Trudy having Burgess going to the ME's office to retrieve a ring off a dead guy.
Those two reminds me of another unlikely duo that are hilarious together: Mr. Costanza and Kramer on Seinfeld. ("The Bro" - "Mansiere" episode destroyed me)
The age gaps makes them even funnier.
Definitely one of my Favorite shows. I was very upset that they killed off AL & that Erin left. I loved her & Jay....SMDH

The first actor is on a new show that’s really good too, Big Sky. Definitely recommend to watch. He does a great job in this show too.

Many fans are NOT happy they tossed Olinsky. He added a different "vibe" to the team.
Just like tossing Seda all comes down to contracts and money. Sometimes the network doesn't care about fans and why they tune in as fans DO have FAVORITES ! Olinsky and Seda among them.
Personally not happy Lindsey left but she couldn't handle the cold and claimed Voight harassed her tho I've seen nothing backing that up other than quite the opposite. Voight actually has a funny side in between shots and off camera. Tune in to their instagrams

Season 3 finale was Justins Murder/death & Voight "revenge" (killing the killer). Then Season 4 kick off with Olive leaves with Grandson (actually you can say thats Voights payment aka karma)
Then Olinsky daughter died mid season and finale was Lindsey leaving (her karma aka Voights karma)
Olinsky dies season 5 finale
So Yes how many karma's on same wrong ? Olinsky didn't need to go unfortunately this shows writer/producer thinks his cast is EXPENDABLE !
The viewers aka the fans ultimately are expendable too.
The writerS don't care how we feel anymore than the staff.
Rojas is gone after 1 season let us not forget those who like Nadia and Jin. They seem to get rid of many after semi-recurring rolls or even just 1 season.

I miss these characters on Chicago P.D. Erin, Antonio, Roman, Olinsky, Mouse, Nadia and Rojas. At times, it was hard to understand Erin when she spoke, because her voice was too soft. In another interview, Sophia did say the other reason why she left the show, besides the cold weather in Chicago. It the sexual content in the show.

Nadia (gruesome ending) & Olinsky(Unnecessary Ending). He helped Voight stay centered. Now Voight has trouble relating to his younger crew. Still Chgo Wednesday's are great tv on NBC.

Chicago gets fairly warm in the summer months, so they would either have to deal with the heat and humidity or the cold and snow. It is honestly easier to add on more layers and deal with filming through the cold and snow when you have to dress them as police officers.
And I don't miss Sophia Bush. I liked the change up in not having characters that knew Hank so well, and ones that he didn't know so well. It adds a natural drama. They were having to get more and more out there for her storyline to have anything interesting.

Sophia Bush....... come on! You worked for 15 years without a day off, doing 100 hour weeks (which comes out to over 14 hours per day, 7 days per week). I lived in L. A. for a good while, and have met quite a few celebrities, and became good friends with some. I did have a run in with Sophia Bush on a flight from Charlotte, NC to L.A. We were both seated in first class (for me, it was because I flew a lot for work so I got bumped up), and she decided she was going to take my seat so she could sit next to her friend. But the girl didn’t have the common courtesy to ask or say “would you mind if we switched seats, etc.” - she just said “I’m going to TAKE your seat and you can sit over there!” (where she pointed to her assigned seat). Any decent human being will normally agree to switch if you ask, but she was TELLING me how it was going to go. And so I grabbed my personal items from the seat back that she was commandeering (I had already been sitting in my assigned seat) and then went to put my bag in the overhead compartment over her assigned seat, so I’d have access to it during the flight. And the chick says “hey wait, I was going to put my stuff there!” (in addition to taking the space over the seat she just swiped from me).
I’m usually pretty quick witted, but I was in shock that someone would be so obnoxious........ I’m afraid you’re going to be in a world of hurt when those looks start to fade, and you don’t get to place demands. If I hadn’t been taken so off-guard, I would have probably told her in a calm way and with amusement “Am I getting punk’d? No way, you’re really this narcissistic.... right? Let’s ask the flight attendant if she’s seen anyone who lacks manners like that...... Sophia, you’ve got to be putting us on, right??”.

What I love from the Chicago franchise is that its very real, they dont care who gets killed off or moved to a different city, ir Gabriela Dawson or Erin Lindsey, even if they are main characters, even if we fell in love with those characters they can suddenly die, its very real. I mean, you cant expect to have a firefighting, or police show where the characters never get a scratch. Chicago Med doesnt have as many written offs but because its a less threatening job.
Lindsey mumble to much, half the time I couldn't make out what she said, but she's on Good Sam now and actually you can hear & understand her ❤️

The investigation was just a cover up and to keep Jason in the loop. In the end, she's gone and he's still the top star.

Al was the only person that Voight trusted completely. Voight seems much more vulnerable now without Al. Perhaps they can get another guy that could help fill that void that Al left. A guy that is similar to Al and better than Jay.
I think it's time for Voight to get a girlfriend.
Everybody else has a love interest. Voight has mourned his wife long enough.

I miss Al's character the most. Jason Beghe plays a rough, aggressive role in the program. I really don't see him harassing anyone. I believe Atwater will likely be killed off, only because he's trying to hold the team to a higher standard and play by the rules. I think next season they will kill him off. The only one like him is Jay. And Voight doesn't fully trust Jay.

I was thinking the same thing especially with his hair cut really low! That is actually something Dick Wolf would do! Over the year's there's been ton's of people who appeared in one of his shows then later either appeared in another one or was made a main actor in it.

Right, because not a single person stood up for her. When you're the only person complaining about something, especially in the MeToo era, it probably means that you're the only one who has a problem. So it was the bad weather? Or was it Jason Beghe? Or was it the fact that she hadn't taken a day off in 15 years? Strange, what does her workaholism have to do with Chicago PD? She was on One Tree Hill out of college. She chose to make her own career moves.
I'm glad they released her from her contract and that she's happier now. She's a terrific actor, and Lindsay was a great character. But to call Beghe abusive for something that apparently everyone saw but no one else complained about probably means that she's the only one who had a problem with it. Not all conflict is abusive. People are mean sometimes.
If someone is that desperate to leave a working environment, there's a problem.
Sophia does not deserve the abusive behavior, while those who committed can still be the main character and act as nothing happened, it is not fair...
What a shame Erin Lindsay is gone, stopped watching the show after S4, it's not the same anymore without her :(

Erin's personal life was too dominant and consuming too much of the show. As a cop her part was okay, but I was growing sick of her mother and her love life.
