Honestly, as Freddie said in the movie
"I don't want to be remembered as some AIDS poster boy... I'm gonna be what I was born to be: a performer"
And we saw the celebration of his life in this movie. I don't think Freddie would want us to focus on his sickness and death. Let's remember him as the legend who lives on in his music.

    • @breezyleebrat

Yeah, I wouldn't want the sequel to solely focus on Freddie's illness. I could see it as a back burner type of thing like it's slowly going on in the background. It should also focus on the strength Freddie had when his health truly did start to decline.

As much as it would be sad, (I found the bohemian rhapsody film sad) he made so many perfect records that didn't get the acclaim they should, mostly due to Freddie being unable to perform them live.

@@MrTrevisco it was sad because we all wished Freddie will not die. I really did, but it was reality. For me the movie somehow gave justice to Freddie Mercury's artist side. It did not focus on his party life or the countless partners he slept with. It focused on his out of this world musical talent. I admit before BohRhap I just knew him as the Queen's frontman who died of aids who happened to have a great voice, but after watching it it turned me into a fan. I respect and adore him so much now. Even if I wasn't born yet when he died. The movie was awesome though it was not as accurate ad real life. But it surely did gain Queen a lot of new fans from my generation and it did not make him boring.

    • @MrTrevisco
      @MrTrevisco Před 5 lety +12

It simply would not be 2 hour or whatever of his decline, sure that will be underlying. But the whole magical perfection of his later music production that has still not seen the light, known almost exclusively to Queen fans would be a joy to discover for the public that enjoys already the music they already know.

Bohemian Rhapsody was perfect as showed how the band went from playing in small venues as Smile to Freddie joining and changing the name to be the best act at live aid and it was right it ended there plus Brian and Roger are respectful of the wishes of Freddies family.

    *Heres my idea:*
Like the Start of the movie freddie says “HEY HEY HEY” as the regency logo appears, but instead of saying hey hey hey.freddie says
“AYOOOOOO” and the crowd response.the screen goes black as the AYOOOOOO echoes.we hear the song “is this the world we created?”
As it shows the full wembley stadium and what it looks like.a huge 9:30am written in white at night time as the people found out
Queen came back to perform at night time.we hear the people cheering.the song is finished,we see freddie’s face zoomed in as he looks
Sad,zooms to his eyes and we see them teary.as the people is cheering the band gets up and says goodbye, this is then followed by the song:
One Vision and we see a montage of them doing the Wembely 1986 tours, after the montage and the song ends we see freddie in bed, without
A mustache.coughing loudly as small blood particles spray out on his towel he uses to cover his mouth, freddie looking sick as ever.then it cuts
To the band recording the miracle album but not quite complete yet.brian says “freddie you are looking sick, maybe we should call it a day, right fred?” and he replies “no darling, you understand how much i want to do this, music is my life and without music i am nothing, without music
I wouldnt be here with you, without it i wouldnt even have met you and we wouldnt have even performed at wembley and we wouldnt have been one of the most popular bands,i would be nothing,i would have been a boxer all those years ago,you see.our music brought us together.you dont give up easily when making music..do you remember the time when u had hepatitis around 1976? You never gave up.and thats why i would never give up.” The band is shook. “If you still want to be one of the best,we will record till the day i die or the day that you die,we make music till the end,understood?..now give ourselves a hug.” So they hugged together, They havent finished recording a song on the miracle album yet.then it transitions to freddie int he bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror as “who wants to live forever is playing” similarly to the 1st movie as freddie lays down in bed, brian looking sad as he eats dinner with himself as he had a divorce and kept thinking of freddie’s health, roger who sadly keeps his drum set,and finally John, who is the most affected one, couldnt stop crying on bed times.it cuts to freddie as the flashbacks of the old days play, freddie recording bohemian rhapsody, and all of their funny moments on the studio and on stage, freddie smirks.who wants to live forever stops.freddie gets up lively, gets the band and has the strength to record The Miracle Album,
a montage appears without music,as it takes many attempts for freddie to perfectly sing 2 or 5 hours late, the band stopped for a break, freddie writes a title for a new song.”A New Life Is Born” the beginning of a new life is born is getting recorded (a girl wakes up in the middle of a train track as freddie sings slowly) but is stopped.freddie says “you know what lets do something different” train tracks are useless in this video as there is nothing to do with trains.so roger steps up,and says “OK THEN LETS GET A TRAIN” the band looks at him as breakthru plays,so the band gets a train freddie says “ok we need a name for the train” john deacon gets up and says “How about The Miracle Express?” A few moments later, the girl in the tracks get recorded again as the music stops, and as freddie sings the slow part again.as it is finished the train fails to bust the polystyrene wall as it destroys as soon as the train gets close to it,the group is dissatisfied, freddie says “i just want it to breakthrough” And that gives him the idea.”A New Life Is Born” was scrapped and changed to “Breakthru” the song starts over as they place a platform for the band to stay the train goes fast.
And as soon as one of them say “by the way he have to go through a tunnel” brian shouts “oh no not the tunnel” freddie says “its fine brian”
Then it shows a movie recreation of the music video for breakthru, the band finally finished the music video recording as brian was no longer depressed from this experience, all of them shout “WOOOHOOO”,as it cuts to black,1990,Queen won for the brit awards of outstanding contribution for british music, freddie comes first but it quickly turns to slow motion like the beginning of the 1st movie except that “Im Going Slightly Mad” was playing as freddie accepts the reward.it zooms in to freddie’s face as you see him sweaty.it does a 180 degrees turn to freddie’s back so you can see brian doing his speech and flashes of photographs appear.as brian stops talking the band says goodnight and freddie says “i thank all of you and i wish you have a goodnight” as they leave on stage, the song stops.1991...innuendo album was almost finished, the band sits down.brian says “Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And freddie says, 'I'll fucking do it, darling' - vodka down - “and went in and sang till the top of his lungs,November 22 1991...freddie finally announces he had aids,he says “Following the enormous conjecture in the press over the last two weeks, I wish to confirm that I have been tested HIV positive and have AIDS. I felt it correct to keep this information private to date to protect the privacy of those around me. However, the time has come now for my friends and fans around the world to know the truth and I hope that everyone will join with me, my doctors and all those worldwide in the fight against this terrible disease. My privacy has always been very special to me and I am famous for my lack of interviews. Please understand this policy will continue.
November 24 1991,freddie dies 24 hours after the statement that he said,we hear “These Were The Days Of Our Lives” play as the news say “British Singer Freddie Mercury Passed Away” as the people who loved him and fans of him are crying especially the band we get a shot of the wembley stadium to remind us the legendary freddie mercury used to perform here the band sits together and starts talking about why freddie was so special as they were getting interviewed we get a sad montage of how his family and friends changes when freddie died 3 days later we see a montage of freddie’s funeral, freddie is cremated for zoroastrian faith as mary austin accepts to keep the ashes a secret as freddie says he wishes mary to do it.we see freddie’s family and friends look up to the sky,as they see the ghost of freddie smile on them as the last line of “These were the days of our lives” play, “I still love you”,the credits roll as “Now Im Here” plays,we see the Statue of freddie on Lake Geneva as the back ground of the credits.

The film could pick up directly after live aid and show the creation of the kind of magic album, the band's involvement with highlander and the magic tour. Then we could go into the period between magic and the miracle and see freddie with Montserrat cabálle and then his part in the Time musical. Then go into the miracle and freddie being hounded by the press and then move forward to innuendo. Freddie passes away in garden lodge with Jim Hutton present. We then see the band at the tribute concert and completing the made in heaven album. Montage of freddie throughout the credits with no one but you and a winter's tale playing. Also, the film should definitely be called 'the show must go on'.

His aids go round t.v, who wants to live forever plays and then it shows Freddie at the barbers 💈 changing his look to the 1987 Freddie then Montserrat camballe sings Barcelona with Fred and then the great pretender music video goes on
    Fourth Bit:
Freddie Gets a nightmare about dyeing from aids then he says to John Deacon (Look After The Boys For Me At His House.
    Fifth Bit:
They Record The Miracle, I want it all and the invisible man, they are high when they create the invisible man and they are asleep when they do the miracle and they do their last performance with I Want It All.
    Death Scene:

Next they do the "Live At Wembley Tour" (also from 1986)
Then Freddie goes solo for a bit and they recreate some of "Barcelona" with Montserrat Caballé
Then a year passes by as they go back to the studio to record "The Miracle" in 1989
and then they do a recreation montage of the music video
As The Show Must Go On plays in the backround they are in the studio recording there last album with freddie "Innuendo" with a montage of "These are the days of our lives" from 1991
Next they show a very sad montage of freddie's funeral

My opinion a sequel would be terrible. We learned all we needed to know we found out on the latest movie. Anything else we need to know is all over You Tube. We don't need to see the other half. They would only show the other half of Freddie's life. I think they would have to dig into to much of Freddie's private be life and that wouldn't be right. then they would get into His illness and how the band handles his death. My opinion is they left us on a high note let's leave it at that. I really don't want to see his decline on screen If they did show what he did, even though he was sick, how strong he was, how he overcame it all then that's a story worth telling. It's just going to be heart breaking instead of uplifting like Bohemian Rhapsody was. The celebration concert would be ok but still sad. I don't think I would see it. I'd cry through the whole thing. Just watching the last music on you tube breaks my heart.

A sequel for this magnificent movie, I think, would have to take place sometime after the Live-Aid performance and show how Freddie is living with Aids, and how his friends and family is dealing with it...also it would be really cool to see all the changes Freddie had gone through during this time as well as getting to see how the world wanted to know what was going on with Freddies health as it was a big question at the time...ultimately, I also think it should lead to his death and then continue/end with Brian and Roger trying to deal with their friends death as well as speaking up for him on the news as some folks were quick to be mad at Freddie for hiding his Aids diagnosis until just the day before his death.
Also...I have an idea for the title:

Unsure of his ability, Brian tells Fred it's okay, you don't need to push yourself past your limits. Then Freddie takes a shot, goes into the booth, and perfectly nails The Show Must Go On as a montage of the past 2 films play. The Audience erupts with applause, and the credits commence playing both In My Defense & No One But You (Only The Good Die Young)

Okay here is what I think the sequel would be like:
They have just gotten back from Live Aid and Freddie’s health is getting worse because he just can’t cope with his AIDS. He shaves of his moustache and Jim does the same (he actually did as they idolised each other). They include songs like:
    I’m going slightly mad
    The invisible man
    Barcelona
    Mother Love
    And much more.
Then they would also record its a kind of magic and also it will show the last tour that they did where John smashed his guitar off the floor because he just could not take it anymore.
Then they will do Miracle which they will needs some kids to do it.
So as I said Mother love (I know I’m making a big gap) they record mother love on the day Freddie died (which obviously they did) and that’s when he passes away and it just shows Gwilym Lee as Brian being sad and maybe even crying as he needs to sing the last few lines.
Near to the end of Mother Love you hear Live Aid “AYOOOO”s and it fades into just the scenes from the first movie of Rami and the others acting it out. Then I think the credits should be Bohemian Rhapsody or any other song that I didn’t include.
Well I hope they do make a sequel. Everyone have a great day! 💖

    The short answer is no.
Freddie was an extremely private man, and Bohemian Rhapsody was just about the limit to what Freddie himself would’ve allowed. Roger and Brian, with John and possibly Mary from afar, are the only people who can make it happen. They were some of the closest people to him and would respect what he believed in. It’s highly unlikely the band and co. would ‘milk the cow’, as he was a real person they had known, and wouldn’t want to disrespect his deserved privacy. One movie is enough, now, for god sakes, let him rest in peace. If you are someone who enjoys they idea of a second film, then maybe you’re a fan of the cast instead of the actual band and you just want them to have a reason to be on screen together again.

Start it during the intermission of the first two encores of the performance at Knebworth, which was the final time Queen played live with Freddie, and having the Latter exclaim that he can't do this anymore and being totally adamant with it.
John Deacon throwing his bass away (In hindsight doing so in both the literal and figurative way.)
Freddie and Jim at home and Freddie not knowing what to do with his time now that he stopped touring and Freddie telling Jim that he loved to have seen Pavarotti live and Jim going "Well then what's keeping you, let's go!"
Freddie discovering the skin coloration on his arm.
Freddie seeing Montserrat Caballé live and being totally enthralled by her performance.
Freddie and Montserrat recording together, according to Montserrat, Freddie was the perfect English gentleman and they had such a good time.
Montserrat wanting to Kiss Freddie and him stopping her because he didn't want to infect her.
Freddie recording his final vocal takes with the band.
The guys putting together the Freddie Mercury tribute.
Brian May introducing Extreme who play a Queen Medley, that would be the perfect closer, since that performance captures all the magic of Queen's live Aid Performance.

No! Just no, Freddie even though was concerned about the differentiating timelines and things that never happened in the movie being an issue, he still supports the film for being a success in that it inspires so many people. Doing a very very much not needed sequel would spoil the magic the film has created for everyone and I’m sure Freddie wouldn’t want that done.

Dan Bollinger I think it should be left alone. Those who loved and still love Freddie do not want to watch a sequel of his tragic fight and eventual death from aids.

I have been a Queen fan since I was 6 years old. Freddie had already passed by then.... But I continued to love their music and on to this day. The movie made me laugh, cry, say, "I see what you did there!" and stand up and scream in the theater, "MY GOD IT'S MIKE MYERS!!!!"... Your proposed sequel? I WOULD WATCH THE SNOT OUT OF IT!! GREAT WORK!!

  • @aaronbirtig

A sequel isn't viable or necessary; nobody wants to spend 2 hours in a theater watching Freddie die. His opera and solo material isn't interesting enough to distract the audience from the inevitable conclusion. And while as amazing as the tribute concert was, at the end of the day is just a stark reminder that he's gone.

Even though Bohemian Rhapsody was a singular experience, it definitely deserves a sequel with the points you’ve stated very clearly. I’d definitely like to see a sequel in play with the points stated being put into consideration.
Along with this, I also would like to see spinoff films focused on each and individual members of Queen. More specifically individual perspectives of Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon.

Everything you said in the video would be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT even down to the last song 'IN MY DEFENCE' but I would include a bit on the 'HIGHLANDER' film maybe the Christopher Lambert Princess of the universe. And I would obviously call the sequel 'THE SHOW MUST GO ON' and PS IT WOULD DEFINITELY WORK! 👑 🎹🎸🎤🎵👍👍👍👍

I would absolutely love to see a Bohemian Rhapsody sequel. There was so much more that could be covered....if anything, just videos of them singing their music and the story behind the songs. There were two songs that Freddie wrote, one for the woman of his life and one for the man of his life. Both are beautiful....Love of My Life and You Take My Breath Away which is hauntingly beautiful. I saw the first movie 3 times and got hooked on their music. I didn’t realize that I loved their stuff so much. Bought 3 of the piano books and play them along with CZcams. So much fun.

well it would probably be a character study of how all of the band members deal with the mortality of their singer which would be fascinating but I doubt that the actual band members would want it.

Great video I really hope that it happens.😁😁😁😁 A sequel would be amazing, I would love to see it. 😊😊 I really hope it happeneds. I hope we see more Jim moments too. And I also think they should show how Adam Lambert is touring with queen at the end. Thanks so much for the video keep up the good work.

I would love to see it portrayed as you mentioned. I would only pray that the sequel does well because sometimes sequels are not nearly as good as the original. It’s possible!’ I think it would be inspirational to see the band working together and with Fred being so sick, doing everything he can and the band working together and keeping his secret, until after he made his announcement.

Thank you for the video and for the suggestion, but I do not agree. I have a different take on this, though. I've been a Queen fan since the release of the album Sheer Heart Attack, and I think that, in many ways, this was their real break out. I would like to see a prequel that deals with the timeframe around this album. A Night at the Opera was a good album, and I did like Bohemian Rhapsody, but this was also the beginning of Queen's move to a more commercial format, more pop music. I prefer them as an alternative hard rock band playing Stone Cold Crazy. I saw the movie in a really cool theatre in Chicago with my youngest daughter, and enjoyed it - I will probably watch it again when it comes out on the streaming services. However, I think that Brian May and Roger Taylor were VERY gracious in their treatment of Freddie Mercury. Freddie was a great entertainer, very creative, but he was not the only reason for the success of Queen. Much like the Beatles, Queen was much better as a band and Freddie's efforts to take them in a different direction was, in my opinion, an unfortunate departure from their roots. Freddie Mercury lived a destructive, self-indulgent lifestyle and I think that he is fortunate that his former band mates contributed so nicely to this generous tribute to him. I don't object to this posthumous veneration of Freddie Mercury (similar to what happened with Elvis), but I would like to see Roger Taylor and Brian May get more credit for the genius THEY brought to the band. One last thought - kudos to Ben Hardy, Gwilym Lee, Rami Malek, and the cast and crew of the movie. Let's consider showing the REAL Queen in the next movie.

Yes I totally agree with Brian and Roger deserving a lot more credit for their genius. It’s not Queen without Brian’s soaring, unique guitar work and Rogers brilliant drumming and backing vocals. Not to mention the songwriting component these two geniuses produced. I’ve loved Queen and in particular Roger since Sheer Heart Attack so I always love to see Rogers talent being appreciated in particular.

Hear me out: There should be three movies Bohemian Rhapsody, then These Are The Days of Our Lives (which is this plot line), then The Show Must Go On. In The Show Must Go On it shows how the band members react and feel after his death. It would also give more into each of the band members. Like can you imagine seeing John falling apart after he finds out... my heart!

I like the points you made and honestly I’ve thought about how a sequel would work too. While I’m happy with it only being one film, I would support a sequel because I’m curious to see how Freddy and Jim Hutton’s relationship continued do how he made the remaining songs with Queen. Plus I know that Mary Austin was the only one he entrusted to bury his ashes so I would like to see that conversation dramatized. If it doesn’t happen, that’s fine too, I loved Bohemian Rhapsody. The special feature that shows the full Live Aid performance was fantastic.
