I absolutely adore the festive lighting on the caravan. It makes it look like December!! But it could equally represent other festivals that take place in the year.

Thanks for this update, RJ. It's been a while, so it's great to catch up with you once again. Like the look of the diner all lit up. It gives it a local presence like it's a place frequented by locals. I'm sure about the placement of the water tower. I think it would be better on the right hand side, maybe just before the switch for the siding. I don't know how much room there is, though. It just might require too much scenic readjustment. Just suggestion. Looking forward to 01 Sep.

Great layout update. And it is looking good, too. Also, keep the water tower as I have that same one in HO scale from Menards. It compliments the layout well.

Need to check your water tower chain hanging down rubbing across your freight cars roof. It might get caught on something and pull it down as a train goes under it. It is nice to see a clean looing lay out like yours still being worked on by adding or changing things. The water tower does look out of date compared to the station that it is beside. Thanks for having this video. JH

Looking good RJ. I think the water tower looks just fine where it is. I have it in a similar position on my layout.
As far as content goes have you given any thought to a small point to point switching layout that could be built in an apartment? Would be cool so you could work on scenery as well as scratch the train running itch.
Anyway I’m looking forward to seeing whatever you feel like sharing with us next.

I have put some thought into building a layout in my apartment and my biggest concern is noise, I am sure my neighbors would mind the noise it creates, plus with DCS/Legacy systems costing so much, I would not buy a new one and I do not want to lug my existing systems back and fourth between DC and NY. I tried an HO for a hot minute but did not enjoy it and sold most of it off quickly thereafter. This time in a year from now, I should be in a space where I can build a layout similar, if not bigger, in size to my current one, so I am just holding off and saving my money.

Looking forward to your apartment broadcasts too. By the way, have you thought of building an "under the bed" rollaway layout for the apartment? At least it's something to run trains on and a basic 3 X 6 might be just enough to scratch the itch.

I have thought about it, and actually have some track here but I am not sure my neighbors would appreciate the sound of trains running, or be able to fully trust maple not to chew anything. I hope to move soon so I am going to hold off on a layout in the apartment. Hope to see you at York.

Nice video RJ! I like the water tower. It gives you some new interest to the layout. Just need to fix the chains so they don't catch on your trains. Are you going to make a platform for the Amshack? Looking forward to your new content! ~Ricky

By the way, I’m NOT American, I’m English. I stayed with my cousins in Shelbyville, Indiana and was asked to wait for the train to the Freight Depot to let my cousin know when his parcel arrived.

Nice video RJ. I am limited for space and would like to know what turn radius do you use on your inner and outer loops?
That corn field is an eye opener. What is the time frame of your layout?
Eh, I guess it’s “modern” but a rustic modern because there are a lot of old buildings with a few newer buildings like the Taco Bell and chick fil a. My goal was so I could run both steam locomotives and modern diesels and have scenes look good for both
The sounds on your layout are amazing!! I’ve been around the Shelbyville Freight Depot some years ago and the train I was waiting for was hauled by a Big Boy!!
