if anyone has the other episodes, please upload them! I can't find them anywhere and have never seen this. We love Richard Briers and Imelda Staunton. We're in the USA
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
Yes, I know what is black humour. I just do not find anything ironic or wry in it. It crossed the line. Just my opinion of course.@@LuciThomasHardylover-qx6ts
@@user-lz6dm5lk9y of course 🙂 personally I found it very moving and the moments of black humour just helped the story from becoming overwhelmingly depressing.i have a degenerative illness and we often find ourselves laughing at truly horrible moments... what else can you do 🤷
I don't know if I'd LIKE to see another pathetic story like that. I lost my wife and everything, and just don't see the humor in it. Poor bastard, and family!
I think, we all come media that can be triggering. I’m a male CSA victim, I’ve spent my life seeing male rape used as joke. Try not to take Is personally. As raw as it is, these stories weren’t written in malice.
Been chasing this for years, remember it being cleverly written, acted and cast.
Oh my gosh what a brilliant trip down memory lane I briefly remember this show
Those are my hands covering up the wife at 9:40. Filming location was Holywell St in Oxford
I remember this well. Thanks for the upload.

Kind of like "Rain Man".
This is depressing..... I do not find it funny at all. Maybe it is just me.
I have to agree with you. Not just you, any empathetic human, really.
It's called 'black humour ' it's not meant to make you roll on the floor with laughter, it's wry and thoughtful.
