Ah this was great. I sometimes walk along here by the train station. Very wonderful. I didn't know about the cycle canal path all that way to Beeston. I shall give it a go. Thank you for posting.
Fortunately opencast mining destroyed large stretches of the northern end of the Nottingham canal, so all these people can't invade its remaining streches up north.

I've opened and closed a couple of the locks up and down the canal. Many spring days spent down there with the family. Miss Nottingham so much.
I’ve walked from the station in Nottingham to Beeston town, such a fantastic walk and do highly recommend it
