@Real News why are you on here if the only thing you have to contribute is negative and cynical. So they may receive some money through youtube. It's not going to bring Dan back. And make no mistake, his treatments weren't free. It's not like Dan's channel made them rich and they're riding off into the sunset with a bag of cash. While Dan was fighting for his life he had to post medical documents to prove to ppl like you that he actually had cancer and while he was sick he was always standing up to negative ppl like you. For everyone that loves Dan we are all one big family and grieving the loss of his beautiful soul that even though he was loosing his life he still continued to share his journey to help other ppl that will come across this same disgusting disease that can not be helped at this time and his goal was to get ppl closer to living longer then he did and getting more answers then he did! I am SO HAPPY to see you all! Been thinking of Dan, Becca, his mom, dad, brothers. I still can't believe he's gone. From what we've seen in all his video's I think Dan would only want everyone to be happy. Death is one fleeting moment. Too much focus is placed on that split second in a person's life. Dan did incredible things. Each and every one should be celebrated! I know for sure that would truly make him smile. That is what he would want all his family, and all his friends here to do. Love and miss you Dan, always will. Each and every day I will do a good deed in your honor. Whether it be a donation to one of the charities you endorse, or a simple smile at someone who looks sad. Knowing you has truly made an impact in my life!

Easy to see why Dan loved life so much and fought hard to hang around just a bit longer. His wonderful family would make anyone want more time and memories with you guys. Such a loving and funny Mum and Dad. Crazy and awesome brothers. And beautiful and sweet wife, Becky. His precious nephew, little Noah.
I know Dan felt just surrounded by so much love and connection. Thank you all for the up-dates.
I know you want to continue Dan's work BUT you are still a family who is grieving the loss of a beloved son, brother, husband. Please don't feel pressure to perform. I'm happy to 'hear from you' with updates, but also feel guilty that I'm infringing on this very personal time for your family. We will continue to hold you in our prayers. Ladies, at the age of 51 I went zip lining for the first time. GO! ENJOY! LIVE ON in Dan’s memory. He was an AMAZING man. Although I never met him, he touched my life for the better. All my best to you and your amazing family.

As a cancer survivor it sometimes feels like you can't escape the word and disease it's everywhere and a struggle, but Dan's videos were always enjoyable and upbeat, I'm so sorry for your loss I wish I could be there Monday and thank you Dan for making my journey easier for making me laugh for making me cry, for being a distraction when I needed one, thank you Thomas family for all you did to make it possible your wonderful son brother and husband helped me more than I have the capability to ever explain, p.s. Had I been able to get there I'd of worn a mankini to reduce the tears cause some laughter (and hopefully not cause too much mental trauma)
So thankful I stumbled across Dan's videos a few months ago. He left an imprint on my life forever. You guys are awesome! Such a precious family. Prayers as you go through this hard time in your lives. ❤️

DJ Hyperfresh I have been dealing with quite s few medical issues for several years now. My parents are deceased my one brother when I got real sick closed his door to me and who I thought was my best friend like a sister could not deal with my sickness and ended our friendship. Do Zi am alone with just my birds no family right now no friends and I so envy that Dan has such a wonderful family that supported him. In that respect he was blessed but not health wise. So unfair
I think it really helped that Dan was so opened that he wasn't going to live long..he came to his "end" per say..and expressed it to everyone openly.
One of my favorite things about Dan was one of this last video "outings" where he went with his wife and her brother. They went skateboarding - and it just seemed all Dan wanted was to live normally...so let us all be grateful for what we have because there is someone out there now..who would give anything to just walk outside and can't.

oi you guys! DONT be ashamed to laugh and be happy in the videos. what good is crying all the time. there are moments in such situations where the wells just run dry and a comfortable numbness kicks in. on with your life, especially in the face of the coming weeks, and hell do i know what it means to get the estate of a deceased beloved one sorted. its bereaucrats heaven. so....i wish you all good nerves for that. you just keep releasing to us what you think is fit and alright with you and dan with just the exact emotions you feel at that moment.
nobody shall judge you over any of it. at least not me.

Anyone who is uncomfortable that they seem bubbly should try to remember a few things
1. Grieving is a complicated thing, and the emotions come in waves for most people. One minute you might be crying your eyes out, but an hour later you are laughing, remembering happy or funny memories of your loved one, or you may even be able to get absorbed with a mundane task that distracts you, and then back again. It looks different for everyone, Everytime, and even every day.
2. They are putting their best foot forward, trying to give you the bravest and most positive faces they can. Partly because they think Dan would've wanted that, I assume.
3. They are not American or Latin. Cultural expectations about how grieving people behave in public are quite different.
4. Losing someone to a long, drawn out and painful terminal illness is quite different from losing them in another way. Generally people have to process a lot of their grief long before their loved one is gone, and there can even be a degree of relief that at least the suffering is over.
So, this kind of grieving can look different.

I don't comment often but I just thought I'd let you guys know that I quit smoking after 20 years from watching Dan for the past year or so. And for that I will forever be grateful. it wasn't easy but thanks to Dan's inspiration I got through it.

Fantastic! I lost both my beloved in-laws way too young to cancer- both caused by smoking (lung and pancreatic cancer). You don’t want cancer - the suffering did not end until they passed. It’s so difficult to watch. We felt so helpless. Kudos to you, and such a sweet tribute to Dan.

Thank you To Dan’s mom, Becca and Matt for updating us on everything ❤️ My friend Jean died of cancer and wanted her funeral to be a celebration also. She was a beautiful Indian woman and wanted to be buried in a stunning bright yellow saris. She wanted all of us to be dressed in bright colors to celebrate her life. My point being, I agree with Dan’s view of wanting to celebrate his life. ❤️ Life is short and we should all enjoy every minute 😊God bless
