Not boring at all, very satisfying to watch you make new pens for the animals 😁
Thanks. There's a lot of 'bits' to do on the farm, if you know what I mean, and it doesn't always seem very interesting!
Glad there'll be a goat welcome committee at the farm entrance!
Well, that's if they haven't escaped 🤣
Sounds like a great plan having the goats along the side. Everywhere is so wet and muddy here.
Pretty wet isn't it?! And currently pouring!
Hey Geoff. Great plans for winter housing and lambing. I'm sure that building up the earth floor of that part of then barn will work well.
Good ideate give the ewes some shelter but not too much- as you say. Thanks for this vid. 🤓🐶🧔
I can't believe we're already at that time of year talking about lambing again, Johnny!
No, I was talking to a neighbour and we remarked on how quickly this year has gone. Here we (almost) are again.
Yes, if our boys have done their job, it'll be lambing time before we know it. 🐑
Best. 🤓🐶🧔 @@BrimwoodFarm
Hey Geoff! I went to check out the calendar and it don't have a USA price on it. So I was not sure how much they are or if you ship to Florida or not. I would really love to have one if possible. You can let me know here or FB. I follow you on both :) And your videos are never boring. I look forward to seeing them and seeing what the farm kids (all the animals) are up to!
Hi Renee! If you add to the basket, at checkout it will give you different delivery options including the USA. The farm kids are all a bit wet today!
My "barn" was floored with 30x30cm paving stones that people advertised free to pick up. Fine for small/light animals like sheep and goats. Easy to clean and you don't dig out the "floor" when mucking out. I suspect that is what caused the dip in the floor of your barn.
Very good idea. Historically this side was only used for hay/straw storage so I suspect you're right - years of heavy machinery and scraping out has dropped floor considerably.
Definitely why ours had "sunk"
How do you kill off nettles? They’re a nightmare in my garden!
It's pretty hard! The tops will die back pretty well during the winter so I can access the branches, but really they need to come out by the root as they set out loads of runners. Goats can handle those for me. You could try cut down to ground and then covering with plastic ?
Won't the goats eat the nettles for you if you could fence it. (no, I've never kept goats! )😊
Yes! They totally would ... problem is th sticks below are exactly where I want to put the fence line.
@@BrimwoodFarm aah, that's a shame. Hopefully when you come to fence it you can pull the sticks out and they can help with the nettles. The mud would really get me down but your plan with the pig straw seems to be working.
