this episode was so creepy and on edge with crazy Joe Davola roaming the streets, and all those clowns.. and the music. Great episode. Dark and hilarious, Larry David's best writing.
Rest in peace Peter Crombie. Your few minutes of airtime in Seinfeld left a long lasting legacy. JD: “Are you still scared of the clowns?” + chilling smile. CK: “Yeah…” You bet we are!
@@mattkakas4256 isn't that what many cops are? Power mad clowns, driving around in their goofy SUVs, flexing and terrorizing people and getting paid through those people's taxes?
"The Opera" was definitely one of the darker episodes of "Seinfeld." Right up there with "The Baby Shower" (the illegal cable shootout scene), "The Limo," and "The Gymnast" with its references to Ceaucescu and Hitler. "The Invitations" was also pretty twisted with Susan dying from licking the toxic envelopes and George being relieved that he didn't have to go through with the wedding.
My son acted out the dollar scene in front of my mom when they were at the swimming pool and he tore up a dollar and said the lines just right. Then I got in trouble because my mom thought he don't value money but he was working towards his Academy award!
are you still scared of clowns? yeah.. this is the only time i can remeber michael richards potraying kramer as vulnerable and it was brilliant..could have won an oscar if that was in a film haha
Davola: You ever go to the circus? Kramer: Yes. When I was a kid. Davola: Did you like it? Kramer: Yeah. It was fun. Kind of scared of the clowns. Davola: You still scared of the clowns? Kramer: Yeah!
@patrickj25 There was another time when he was talking to his neighbour an old woman and he looked scared. It's strange seeing Kramer not in 'funny' mode, he looked quite sweet.
Having seen every appearance of his, I must say there NEEDS to be a montage made of EVERY Joe Davola appearance, no matter how brief, so it can be shown to Psychology majors as an example of severe Borderline Personality Disorder in males. The dude is a dead ringer for the condition--100%. Larry David must've known someone with the disorder, because there's no way they could get it this on-point from simply reading a textbook.
Kramers, "Yeah." Cracks me up, every time 😆
Same here
One of the best moments in Seinfeld.
Me too!
Like he became a little kid again
Lol
Kramer's "Yeah" was just perfect.
this episode was so creepy and on edge with crazy Joe Davola roaming the streets, and all those clowns.. and the music. Great episode. Dark and hilarious, Larry David's best writing.
theFonzSaysSitOnit David didnt write the Opera, it was written by Larry Charles
Rest in peace Peter Crombie. Your few minutes of airtime in Seinfeld left a long lasting legacy.
JD: “Are you still scared of the clowns?” + chilling smile.
CK: “Yeah…”
You bet we are!
I love the part where they show him crying uncontrolably while he was bench pressing. So psycho.
If you dont cry when lifting weights, you are not doing it properly
No pain, no gain.
Crazy Joe Davola, Peter Crombie, gone at 71. Thank you for all your skill.
r.i.p. Mr Crombie.
The actor who played Joe Davola or the stuntman who performed those kicks must have a pretty good background in Martial Arts.
Yes, it was a stuntman. The actor who played him has stated that it was not him.
@@clamshell6863 really. thank you for clearing this up. I thought Joe Davola was a martial artist in real life!
@@dad4378 why?
Do you want to hit him?
@@youtubedj9298 Yeah, he tried to hurt my Elaine!!!
@@dad4378 I was mostly quoting when Jerry asked if he did karate.
Leaked JOKER footage
Paggliachi would have been VERY fitting music for them to use.
The look at 0:28, when the clown comes around the corner, then looks at Kramer is eerie as fuck.
What are you 6?
It's called acting
Jerry has no idea how close he came to being Kiboshed.
the spinning back kick is legendary
And after a long, long wait, Joe finally got a movie made about him in 2019, starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Man, the Seinfeld character actors have been dropping like flies in the last three years. RIP Crazy Joe
Dark? yes. Twisted? yes. But undeniably hilarious.
RIP Joe Davola.
RIP Peter Cromby... you played the part well
Crazy joe devola, was one of the most memorable characters of seinfeld's series, even more than soup nazi, in my opinion.
"What're you, a cop?"
Debra Georgetti No, I'm just a clown
@@mattkakas4256 Have you ever been to the circus?
@@mattkakas4256 isn't that what many cops are? Power mad clowns, driving around in their goofy SUVs, flexing and terrorizing people and getting paid through those people's taxes?
Lol 0:27 I never noticed Kramer whispers “oh dear” when he sees the clown.

make me laugh clown
"The Baby Shower", "The Limo", and "The Opera" were all written by Larry Charles. The guy has a pretty dark sense of humour.
nice face clown
I agree. The scene where Crazy Joe corners Elaine inside his apartment was particularly unsettling.
Daniel Dougan you alright buddy? Wanna talk about anything?
"You get what you f**kin deserve!"
Peter Crombie did great playing this character.
he was in some movies too!
Yes, great... I think he was into martial arts, and that got him a few movie roles.
So that's really him in that scene... cool
He did 👍
He was awesome
One of the best episodes. Love the Crazy Joe Devola character.
Joe should have been in more episodes! Legendary character.
He was too scary.
@@markseslstorytellerchannel3418 Are you being serious? 😒
@@liamsandal6360 I never knew that.
You read my mind! I wish they made him a regular character.
As a kid I don't remember anything frightening me more, than this plotline from a comedy show
-Clown- Are you still scared of clowns? *smile*
-Kramer- Yeahhh...
hahaha xD
RIP...
Overture, Curtains lights. This is it, we'll hit the heights. and oh what heights we'll hit... on with the show this is it.
Brad It is so sad. All your knowledge of high culture comes from Bugs Bunny cartoons.
Crazy Joe Davola would be an awesome Joker 🃏 RIP Peter Crombie 🪦 🌹
Great acting my Michael Richards
The way he’s able to really show the fear washing over him is so realistic.
I never realized he was the bowtie killer in Problem Child before. Well, that was until I was 19 years old
Rip crazy Joe 😢
RIP Peter Crombie
When the clown was being all creepy, I thought I could take him. Then he knocks out 3 guys and I KNOW I'm wrong XD
Especially with a kick that can dent in a helmet
😂😂😂
I kept rewinding at that part 😂😂
"Hey clown" "Make us laugh clown" "Nice face clown" "Make me laugh clown"
***Backhand punch, leg sweep, into a roundhouse kick***
Hard humor right there!
ROADHOUSE! I wonder if those were the same guys who hassled Jerry when he wore cowboy boots. "Hey cowboy, where's your horse?!"
Best actor in the world….. best guest star!!!
The fact that the episode never had a laugh teach for Joe Davola’s character made this show so brilliant!
It's called "Vesti La Giubba"...a beautiful piece of music.
We need someone to put up the clip where he yells "SIC SEMPER TYRANNUS!!!" at the filming of the pilot!
+tommyt1971 ikr
this is my favorite episode
My favorite villain of all time
RIP crazy Joe davola
Rip Sir. 🕊️❣️
That is one of Kramer's best moments.
I always remember the singing going JOEEEEY!! DAVOLAAAA!!!
Kramer almost sounds like Rainman, there.
Those 3 goofs picked on the wrong clown!
they were stupid!
lol nobody laughing now 😂😋
-JOKER (2019)
This is extra creeper after watching the terrifier
Julia’s acting is amazing
Yeah being a good liar and pretending to be somebody else is true talent.
Krammer punched out a clown in the move Problem Child.
I always thought his life was a tragedy but now I see it's a comedy....
*PUT ON A HAPPY FACE*
Those karate movies were sick
Crazy Joe Devola should have been more on the series, and not just like 5 episodes in Season.4. Genious!

Joe Davola was one of the best characters on this show!
Or the part where he's holding his hand above a candle and laughing hysterically.
Best character in Seinfeld. Too bad he never showed up again.
“Be sure and tell 'em Large Marge sent you.”
Rest in Peace

"Nice face, clown."
I still think that spinning trip kick is awesome
R.I.P. Peter Crombie aka Crazy Joe Davola. ⚘️📺🤡🤣
"A crazy clown is trying to kill you? Oh thats rich..."

Joe Davola had to be the inception of Terrifier.
NYC tip: If you're walking through Central Park at night and there's someone dressed as a clown roaming around, it's best to steer clear...
I am....creepy
Wanna hit me?
RIP
Joe should of had his own show.
I'm not a cop....I'm a clown
@CocoaShunter I agree! He should have been more on the series, definatly.

His face at 0:58 is legitimately terrifying.
