    Easily the best video on CZcams for this job. Answered all the questions I was left with after watching other videos. Thank you!!

    Btw thank you - figured out the white clips, when twisted will push the inner clips out and can release them together - pretty amazing video. I was able to do it and am an old woman 😂 who knows enough to get in trouble

      Thank you! This beige ‘03 GX470 was my first GX. It had too much rust to make into a build, so I opted for a rust free white ‘07 GX from Texas (the one mainly featured on this channel). They are great cars and last forever. Two are always better than one!

      @@nkautos true that! I have a silver 09 and love it! How do you like your Tesla-style infotainment system? Any bugs? Would you consider Grom v-line instead?

    Good info man, thanks! I have an 06 GX470 and my bags are going out. Was considering going to springs but it looks like it's not too much more to just get some new bags. Do you still recommend the brand you used in the video? If i were to buy these and have a local mechanic do the work how long do you think it would take them? is it like a 2 to 3 hour job? Thanks!

    Excellent video. Thanks for posting as I plan to do this same job on my '04 GX470. Was it absolutely necessary to do the ODBC jumper/reset? Seems like once you start it and maybe let it run for a while the bags would automatically air up.

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  Před rokem +1

      It isn't absolutely necessary but it will reset the level sensors and make sure that the bags are running equally. I would recommend doing it if you can!

    I'm doing the same job on an 05 Sequoia - I was hoping you would show your jack points. I have the driver side rear wheel off the ground a couple of inches but don't seem to have enough room to wiggle the old bag out between the axle and the rear sway bar.

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  Před rokem

      Hello I'm sorry for the late reply. I used the jack on the middle of the rear axle and used the frame as an anchor. I hope your job went well!

  • @koyang337
    @koyang337 Před 8 měsíci

    Should always use jack stands in place so car doesn’t come crashing down while you are crawling underneath it.
    A hydraulic jack is not a stable jack stand alternative.
    Work safe.

    I’m replacing mine on my 06 this weekend. This video is the first one I’ve seen that mentions resetting the system. Is that necessary?

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  Před 2 lety

      I had to reset since the bags where bottomed out and the height control sensor was out of calibration. The reset will help the whole system and start fresh with the new airbags

    I appreciate you sir. We own 2, both 04' GX's. The air suspension on my wife's rig works great, mine was replaced with springs but they failed to remove compressor and all fuses, occasionally my compressor would inadvertently run, prompting me to push the button and turn off as there are no air bags to inflate. This morning I removed the relay, under dash 20A fuse and the fuse in the main box next to the relay box under the hood. You didn't mention the need to remove the last fuse, should I put it back in? Everything seems fine after removing all 3. Thanks.

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  Před rokem +1

      Thank you for the comment! I have another video on the channel that shows a rear lift for the Gx470. In that video I show which fuses to pull to disable the rear bags and the compressor from turning on. There are a couple of fuses that should be removed and the 20A should be one of them

    Will you recommend air bags for a lift??

    • @nkautos
      @nkautos  Před 2 lety

      You could use airbags for a lift but I would recommend getting a spring conversion. It will be easier to increase height without having to worry about the bags blowing
