The Legend of Spyro was actually better than the classics: It gave us solid lore, a good combat system, and plenty of chances to just tear the world a new one!
Fun fact: the original Spyro trilogy has actually aged _really_ well. Insomniac always knew what they were doing, even with early platformers.

"Doing a Sonic" is a very apt way of describing an aging series.
Depends how you look at it, Sonic the Hedgehog has done exceptionally well as a platformer series, more so than most of his competition, especially Spyro the Dragon.

Spyro was actually supposed to be green and the only reason that he's not is because he blended in with the grass too much. That would have messed up the whole plot of the Legends. Unless they just changed the color to green, but then Terrador would look different too.

William Sitnin I remember using those cheats all the time in 2 and 3.
I don't do so as much now (other than changing the skateboard into a squid), but it's nice to experiment with weird cheats every now and then.

Well their are those rumors of them making another collection, like they did with Crash.
It pains me to see my childhood hero this way. Honestly I think the humane thing to do at this point is to put the dragon down and out of its misery before another reboot makes him even uglier.

Well it is rumored to be made by the same people that made the Crash one, and that one was pretty good.

Same The Eternal Night was my first Spyro game and it's also my favourite one.
Im just glad you could finally fly in DotD. Albeit not great flying, but after years of waiting for Spyro to actually fly, I'll take what free-flight I can get.
I also loved the Legend of Spyro trilogy. That version of Spyro was heroic, kind, and awesome. Sparks was funny. Also Cynder was a great character and a good romantic interest for Spyro. To me it was a great game series like the original.

The Legend of Spyro is my favorite part of the franchise. Cynder remains my favorite Spyro character. The first game I ever got/played was Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, so I've been a fan since near the beginning. Dawn of the Dragon is my favorite game in the franchise.

Spyro was the first Game I ever played, it's what eventully turned me into a gamer.
When I was older, around 11-14, I played the "Legend of Spyro" Series. Maybe I was blinded by Nostalgia, but as far as I was concerned they were great games. Though the story could have used some work, and you could tell the Dub's did not have the ability to edit the cutscenes. (A lot was lost in translation)

I don't think a single game since has captured my urge to explore like Spyro. The levels and over worlds were all varied, colourful, and interesting. Oh, and I'm surprised you guys didn't mention the surprising entertaining skateboarding sequences in the third game
It mayyy have started with Spyro, but I think the Fable games _really_ drove that urge to explore deep into my core.
The first three games were my favorite.
They were pretty much everyone's favorite. The only real debate is which of the original three were the best.

I really love that you used footage of the swimming in air glitch! I have never played the original trilogy but as a kid I 100%ed Enter The Dragonfly twice and played through A Hero's Tail just once. I swear, I had to restart several times because the damn save kept corrupting. Enter the Dragonfly had so many glitches but I still liked playing it. Now that the Reignited Trilogy is out, hopefully those two end up in a collection someday too.
When they started showing the fan art I realized just how similar what happened to Sonic and what happened to Spyro is.

I actually loved the reboot. The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning was so awesome!
Why are so many people making fun of The Legend of Spyro? The story was frickin amazing in that game, and it was supposed to be mainly focused on that. Sure, maybe the gameplay was a little annoying, but the designs, story arch, characters and voice actors were great! Even the animation for it's time were good. So stop criticize on the game just because it's not like the old one. It's a reboot, it's not the same characters we all knew, neither the same game.
Nothing beats the original trilogy.

Stephen Mc Devitt Danganrompa is a anime and game that's summed up to basically be this murder school that an amount of people are in and the only way to get out is by graduating which is done by killing a fellow student and getting away with it. Least that's how it is in the first game. I haven't started the second one yet.

How would you feel about stories based in the Skylanders world, but centered on Spyro and Cynder and their adventures with a small group of allies, only centering on the entire team during major battles?
That'd be far more tolerable than this "Buy all the toys, each as generic as the other!" garbage.
My stories center on Spyro and Cynder for most of the series, or on just one with the other playing a major role at the same time. I only brought in several of the other Skylanders, with the group only growing slightly throughout the stories. I also bring in elements of both the original series and Legend Trilogy. In case you want to read them, here's the main order:
- Skylanders: The Beginning
- Skylanders: The Darkest Hour
- Skylanders: Sacrifice
- Skylanders: Savior Rising
- Skylanders: Aemus
- Skylanders: Dark Warriors

Legends of Spyro was my favorite game series as a kid
the original spyro for Playstation 1 will always be one of my favorite childhood games that I tend to forget. the sounds and music and simple yet detailed gameplay made it so epic for a kid growing up to play. very few games like it even today.

Deathcoln's World I mean Danganronpa seems like the winner here. Think about it, in the start and end of the videos, it's been Danganronpa, Megaman, Spyro, and Infamous in that order. With Spyro being third and Infamous being fourth, they're exact places they got in the gauntlet. Also right before they show what's the next game, they show a Danganronpa clip. But you never know.
I'll be surprised if DR comes first, since Megaman is more well known. But with the order the clips have been shown in... then maybe you're right and DR will win.
