- Found this Vintage Pioneer 3071 Chainsaw on Facebook Marketplace for 20 bucks! Feels like the motor is Siezed, or is it? Let's Dig into and see if I just wasted my Money or gained a nice saw for the collection. Has some interesting features and a cool Chain Scabbard, neat old saws. You'll be surprised what I find inside! Thanks Andrew @butleroutdoorscanada for the video about the fuel line, helped alot!

Dan, are you gonna get all your Pioneer saws together for a Cackle Fest? That would be cool. Like you did your XL-12 Homelites. I would love to see that!
Great idea!🤔
Good to see ya back in the shop doing what you enjoy! 👍
Robbie! Great to hear from you Brother!😁
Great job Dan! I love it when they come back to life without to much hassle.
I know right, I'm With ya Brother!
That scabbard is cool indeed, Dan the Man! I'd love to have one. Pioneers are cool old saws too. Like the full wrap safety bar.
Right on Brother!
Saving the old stuff one at the time! Great job buddy! 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
Yessir! Gotta get your XL12 going....🤔
Very cool old saw. It sounds great now. Well done, Dan!
Thanks Brother, appreciate it 😉
Great find!! Cool old saws 👍
Yes they are!
That's Awesome... that makes 2 old Pioneer saws brought back to life this week... i got one running on Saturday... a 1200A model... it likely hasn't ran since the early 80's
Right on Brother! I just dug out a 1200A I forgot I had...lol
They were heavy but now it’s like dam I used it like a toy back then lolol 73 and kicking still 😊❤
What a great find! Those guys knew how to make a saw back then, full wrap handle and lots of casted parts. Great work bringing this one back to life Dan. That coil reminds me of a PVL performance coil for a Briggs 4 stroke. If it is, super hot coil!
Thanks Chris! Interesting, I wonder if that's what it is🤔
Great little video, thanks Dan! 🙏
Glad you liked it!😉
Awesome find! I know a pretty awesome guy that would be interested in the full wrap handle on the parts saw😁
Haha! Yeah will probably be parting out that saw, Email me at kainkustom@charter.net
Killer find Man! I've had two saws that were given to me that I thought were seized up. One saw had a galvanized nail wedged in the starter assembly the other had a screw that had backed out of the main housing and wedged in the magneto. Easy fix. Like you said, $20, how can you go wrong. You're way up on that deal!
Heck yeah Brother! Appreciate you 😁
All the best Man!
Hi Dan, yes those lucky moments/bargains you will remember.
i had this with my first chainsaw i bought a Stihl S08 1964.
i bougt it for 20 euro's. it didnt run en petrol was leaking out...
at home i discovered the floater from the carb was loose in the housing. it was a 5 min fix.
since then i have cut al least 20 100 feet tall trees with it, buckin as well.
and it still runs great.
keep up this nice videos, i like watchin...
greetz from the Netherlands
That's Awesome Brother, great to have you here!😉
Some one had taken good care of it for sure 😊
Absolutely awesome Dan! Great find and runs great too boot!!
Thanks Ted! 😁
Great video!
Thanks for the visit😉

Thanks Ted!😉
Super nice score!

That's so cool
😉
Hey Dan….thanks for the vid
No problem 👍
NIce saw. I bought an old chainsaw with an AH58 Power Products engine that had a wood screw underneath the flywheel that was preventing it from moving. Started right up after removing the screw.
That's Awesome Brother 👌
Hope you put blue lock tight on the three screws, dad had 3/4 of them and it was common for them to get loose 😊
Hey ! That was a marvel for nothing in price ! Congratulation and wow...that saw is in good condition ! :-). Real buck spikes too ! Some of those big american saws...are just ozing of big and impressive. Awesome that you gat that big bar too...for almost nothing ! Handy bucking saw ! Foreverlasting good stuff in the right mans hand ! :-)
Haha! Thank you so much my Friend! It is a very cool saw!😉
I had a new looking 1074 pioner back in 1989 real good saw I put rope in it left out the decompression mec couldn't pull start it I put it back in it lol
🤣👍👍
win win issue is trying to get those people to ship them that's the problem i come up on.
I hear that Brother...
Great saw especially for 20 bucks. Looks like a coil from a p51. I have been looking for a coil like that for my p51. Hard to find.
Thanks Robert!😉
That glass deal on the handle i bet is just a level for cutting ?
Oil flow indicator for Chain oiler, Who knew 🤔 🤣
Bar alone is worth 20
I currently have an Oleo Mac 630 Automatic on my work bench that had initial issues and now the biggest issue I am having is sourcing new clutch springs somewhere.
Has spark, beautiful pot and piston as well as a decent Windsor bar that likely hadn't ever been rotated.
Might you have an idea what I might find as a substitute clutch spring?
Hmm, Ebay!
@@KainKustomGarage lol! Yea there were some used parts, I was just hoping there was some sort of Stihl or other part that you might know of with your extensive chainsaw knowledge.
Thankyou anyway!
Yes, bigger displacement but slower rpms 😁
Before I give a vintage saw a good pull I like to pull the muffler off and take a look inside make sure you’re not beating a dead horse from the get go lol no point getting it running if the jugs got more scratches than an emo orgy
Yeah, probably not a bad idea....lol
@@KainKustomGarage one of the pioneer 620s I got a couple months ago really solidified why I do this..I went to pull the exhaust off and it was full of a mud wasp nest lol I wouldn’t want to be yanking on a saw just to have it suck dried mud into the jug.
Use Loctite?
Didn't have any on hand, but probably not a bad idea 🤔
💚🌳👍👊🌳💚
😉👍👍
I'll give ya money back lol.....
🤣🤣
Nothing like the smell of rancid gasoline
Yummy!
