I just checked this guy's Wikipedia page and wow, it's an adventure. The best thing is the ending. "Barsky lived in Schaghticoke, New York until 2016. He now resides near Atlanta, Georgia, with Shawna, and their daughter, Trinity, born in 2010. The FBI agent who lived next door and interrogated him after his detainment became a close friend and godfather to Trinity."

Real spycraft is incredibly boring, because if anything exciting happens, it's because something went catastrophically wrong.
Keep in mind, we don't want realistic depiction of spycraft. We want unrealistic flashy spies that everyone spots from across the room, and know by name/drink order. Because if everyone knew how to actually do it, we'd have a lot more spies.
It's funny, I know James Bond isn't 'real' but the latest 007, Craig, was exciting probably because he was the sloppiest.

Jahanara Chaudhry Yes we are aware of that. However, there are people who have spent harsher time in prison and have served a longer sentence than Piper. Also, prison is different for people who are not from affluent backgrounds. They would think differently bout these shows. That is the perspective we would like to see.

Most spies are just ordinary people doing what they believe is right for their country, no matter where they are from... I learned from this guy's wiki page that the FBI agent who eventually uncovered him is now one of his best friends and actually acts as the godfather to his youngest child :D

It's done so ingeniously, on so many levels, a journey back in time to the 80s, as far as pop culture is concerned, this tension between the KGB on the one hand and the FBI and CIA on the other, relations between Russia and the USA, all the techniques that were used back Then etc
The series is currently available on Netflix.
