That was one of the best depictions and most flushed out iterations of the War of Wrath I think I’ve ever seen on CZcams. Great job :)
Thank a lot. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
@@FairlyFictional what are the image credits?
Brilliant artwork in this video. Wow I love it
Thanks a lot. It took some time to get it just right but they turned out well in the end. 😁. New username btw 😉
Awesome video, loved every minute
Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
A film about the first age could be excellent
It could be if done right. I don’t know if Amazon has the rights but I’d volunteer to write it if they do. I seem about qualified for them 🤔😅
I love the cautious “could”. I too am traumatised after Amazon😂
@@FairlyFictional😂😂😂😂
This was an awesome episode of the War of Wrath!
Thank you for saying so 😊
I love the artwork and illustrations beautifully done
Thanks. They turned out well. But now I have to make sure all videos are that good or better 🙄
@@FairlyFictional what are the image credits?
That was badass son! Great content
Thank you, I am glad you approve!
What an amazing video! Great work. It's so nice to see Tolkien's lore treated so well
Thanks for the praise, Galadriel. I’m glad you approve. I was quite happy with how these images turned out. Who would you like to see a video on next?
@@FairlyFictional Lúthien and Beren story would be dope
I’ll add it to the list 👍🏼
Great job
Thanks for saying 😊
What website or program you used for the AI art?
It’s a combination of dall-e, SD and photoshop. The images all have extra work involved and it’s not just a simple output. It actually takes some time.
Some poetic license here. The Valar were never driven back by Morgoth's forces, they were utterly victorious. You make it sound like Earendil saved Manwe, Orome, and all the rest of the Valar, Maia, when Earendil was just one among all the Host of the West who wrecked Morgoth and his armies.
Hi, thanks for the comment.
It is not actually specified that any specific Valar took part in the war. It is stated that elven forces of Ingwe and the Noldor, led by Finarfin, alongside Men who "fought upon the part of the Valar".
Only Eonwe, who is a Maiar herald of Manwe is mentioned as going to the War, and it is not stated that he fought.
Also regarding Ancalagon, it is written:
"and so sudden and ruinous was the onset of that dreadful fleet that the host of the Valar was driven back, for the coming of the dragons was with great thunder, and lightning, and a tempest of fire."
"Before the rising of the sun, Earendil slew Ancalagon the Black, the mightiest of the dragon-host, and cast him from the sky; and he fell upon the towers of Thangorodrim, and they were broken in his ruin. Then the sun rose, and the host of the Valar prevailed, and well-nigh all the dragons were destroyed."
Long waiting for a movie of 1st Age 🙏🙏🙏
That could be great.
Ok, having sat thru this awesome presentation, I shall give The Silmarrillion one more try 😂
Haha thanks. Well if you enjoy the read, you’re welcome. But if you find it a struggle you’ll have to wait for me to make videos of the other stories 😝
very well done. good WWE wrestling voice for the narration. I would make Vingilot a little bigger in the art. Earendil had a crew with him when he reached valinor.
Thanks, Mark. I’m glad you enjoyed. Yeh I made Vingilot a bit smaller so it didn’t fill up too much of the image. And it gave me a slight Silver Surfer feel having it smaller and more agile to fight the dragons 😅.
Pretty sure Eärendil went to Valinor to help save not just the elves, but also the humans as well.
Yeh basically everyone I guess.
Artwoks are very impressive ! (although i think Morgoth is too handsome compared to the (non)-description of Tolkien that stated that Morgoth physical form was terrifying and terrible)
What’s the name of the song?
It's called Maestro Tlakaelel
Don’t forget the War of Wrath lasted 40 years
Yes, I think the start and end dates of the war were mentioned. I might have to create a separate video to cover the whole war, instead of just Morgoth's defeat.
Sauron was more like Lucifer who at the beginning thought that he would bring better order to the world than God, under his rule
Morgoth was a bit different, while a bit like what Satan was after his fall
Morgoth in the beginning wanted to create like the other Valar, to be revered and worshipped, all while having agency in creation and to rule
But when he manifested in Arda in physical form, he appeared as the Dark Lord Morgoth
And his power can only corrupt and ruin, leading to the creation of fell monsters like the Orcs
He began to realize that was all what he was created for, that he has no real place in creation like The other Valar
So he spitefully sought to destroy Eru Alluvatar’s creation, for the sake of destroying all life and make it ruin
For Morgoth like Satan after his fall, knew his story was broken that his fate is all there is, to be creation’s villian. Despite kmoring all that, he kept fighting anyway, he created monsters split his own power to empower them, and no real plan besides spiteful destruction and ruin, to erase light from Arda.
Sauron had more of a plan. He followed Morgoth out of Loyalty and may have thought his master can help fulfill his goals
Sauron didn’t want to destroy creation, he was at heart a builder, and saw creation through the eyes of a builder, and saw flaws. He saw creation under the Valar was flawed, especially how free will and the separation of races, would cause conflict and turmoil
If Men, Dwarves, and Elves didn’t have a common enemy in Orcs and Dark Lords, they’ll be fighting eachother
Sauron at the start didn’t want to conquer the world through destruction. He sought using the Rings of Power to bind free will of the leaders of the races, to his control and control the world through them, creation a new order that’s efficient under his rule
The failure of the Rings controlling Dwarves, and Elves, fell apart the plan, and Sauron had to turn to conquest to do it. And later lost his physical form to intervene, when he lost the One Ring (in movies not books as he simply retreated )
Morgoth was like a mad dog lashing out until the Valar can’t ignore him and intervened to cause his fall
But at the start of it, Morgoth simply wanted to have a part of creation, to rule yes, but also create and have agency in creation which wasn’t in the cards for him. As if he was truly created to become the first Dark Lord
A fine summary 👍🏼. Thanks for the effort. So who do you prefer? Sauron or Morgoth?
@@FairlyFictional I suppose Sauron, he may never defeat the Valar, but his cunning is more dangerous than his raw power.
In truth he would have at least won Middle Earth if he hadn’t either lost his Ring, or got it back before the end. Even separated from the Ring, and at least in movie version was unable to interact physically. He still plots and schemes, and manipulates so many others foe and pawn alike.
The fall of Numenor alone highlights his threat. Despite having at the height of his godlike power with the One Ring, he surrendered to Numenor.
Morgoth would have tried to destroy the city with armies and may have lost with Numenor’s might.
But Sauron didn’t use magic or armies against them, he allowed himself to be taken prisoner and used the pride of the Numenorians to win them over. Going from prisoner, to adviser of the High King, and began to make the Numenorians not only worship himself but fallen Morgoth.
Such a fall was such a threat, the Valar had to break their vow of noninterference and make Numenor sink.
As flawed at the Rings of Power series was, the one thing they did right was Sauron’s portrayal
He allowed himself to be thought of as a lowly man, to be taken prisoner, to be beaten up, endure failure, yet patiently took it in, and played his role until the end.
That’s Sauron, who would have conquered the world with his patience and cunning, with magic as a supplement to his title as Lord of the Rings, and successor of Morgoth as the Dark Lord.
Sauron was bad
Yeh if only Sauron decided to turn Isildur into a pancake with that hefty mace of his instead of messing around.
My LOTR lore is a bit rusty, but isnt there a rumor or hint that Morgoth might have escaped the void through Sauron when the two beings. ''according to the hint/rumor'' emerged and became one? But then again there is also the rumor that Sauron isnt Sauron at all anymore, and that he is possessed by the spirit or Morgoth who thus lives through him? Or is that only a fan theory? I just recall hearing it being hinted at in Tolkiens own material that many LOTR channels have talked about, but i am not sure of it.
That's an interesting theory, but not one I have heard of if I am honest. I suspect it could be fan theory, without watching those videos myself.
I think Tolkien hinted that Melkor will return and be killed by Túrin Turambar, son of Húrin.
@@ghyslainabel It was supposed to happen during the Dagor Dagorath (the Final Battle, the equivalent of Apocalypse in Tolkien World). But it seemed that Tolkien abandonned the idea of Dagor Dagorath in his final thoughts about is Lgendarium.....
The image of Earendil's little row boat doesn't really fit the description of his "majestic sky ship"...
Haha yeh I know. But I felt like it looked better with him more the focus than a huge ship filling the image 😅
Any boat that flies is pretty majestic I think 🙄
Waaaay too short. Misses a lot of the story. I like the style.
Thanks. I wanted to keep it relatively short to give a high level story for the casual viewer while I try out the style which I’m glad you liked.
I will plan to do longer videos in the future and will probably go into more depth to include Elwing and the Sons of Feanor etc.
at the moment I’m still testing lots of things still as it takes quite some time creating images to go with every step of the story to see what people like best.
@@FairlyFictional Fair enough. I think most LOTR fans like the deep dive but, I suppose, there are those who like the short version.
Something for you to sort out. All the best..
NO! That was not the final fate of the Silmarils! I'm sorry, but that was error filled.
Hi, this video was focussed on Morgoth, not the Silmarils. The full story of the Silmarils would be in another video.
Do let me know what other errors you thought there are.
Nice video, but Barad-dûr wasn’t built until the second age.
Hi, I believe the only reference to Barad-Dur was in reference to Sauron fighting at the Last Alliance. It was a comparative statement.
superb narration, disregarding the mispronounced names
Thanks. What names are you referring to? I’m never quite sure if there’s an exact correct pronunciation and people probably imagine them differently in their heads. Even in the movies some names are pronounced different depending who says them. Just like in real life really 🤔. People from different places say things slightly differently.
It allways strike to ne how only Tolkien depicted dragons as beings of pure evil and horor, while almost all other work of fantasy, books or movies, shows them as some romantic creatures, friends to man, or some other stupid thing.
I guess they could never shake off the evil Morgoth poured into them.. would be cool to see good dragons though.
@@FairlyFictional they are created evil,Tolkien never amnest any of evil being..a devouted catholic, he never compromised with that. Yet, much have fallen in to darkness.
